I mispronounce the name of this beautiful place MULTIPLE times in this video (along with many other things) so grace appreciated. Wow, these Japan an videos are so welcome and helpful as I plan a solo trip in October. Love seeing your trip and hearing your thoughts as a first time visitor so thank you for taking the time to film, edit and post these.
How very very cool! I definitely learned about a place I didn't know existed and history I decided to study about some more. Thank you for teaching us about this place. I appreciate it. The video was beautiful and I can tell you really liked it there.

Thank you for your videos on Japan. I have a cruise booked in 2025 sailing from Yokohama to Seoul. I will be staying in Tokyo for a few extra days and you are helping me with ideas over and above Disney and Studio Ghibli.
If you go to Nikko again, please take a train called Spacia X of Tobu Railway from Asakusa station. You will have a special experience. I recommend it.
Thank you for the beautiful video. As a Japanese, I strongly advise you to stay at Nikko Kanaya Hotel if and when you visit there again. Forget about Ritz Carlton! Kanaya Hotel is the oldest western style hotel in Japan opened in 1873. There are other beautiful "classic" western style hotels in Japan built in late 19C or early 20C , for instance, Fujiya- Hotel in Hakone, Miyako Hotel in Kyoto, Nara Hotel in Nara. The price is, of course, quite expensive but the rooms, food, the service are excellent. You would love them, I'm sure.
OMG!!❤!! I've always felt some kind of kinship with Japan but have never been. I've felt inspired by all these videos so far, but this one especially has made me pause and start looking at flights, etc. You have a note during this video saying Nikkō is even more spectacular in Autumn (Fall) (on a sidenote, is it possible to keep those notes up a little bit longer?), which gives me plenty of time to start saving for a trip next year (including a night or two at the Ritz Carlton).
Thank you for this! SO beautiful! We went to Nikko once, but it was late "winter/early spring," so very cold and gray...not green and verdant. It was almost ghost-town-like when we visited. Thank you for the visitors' guide. I am 4th generation Japanese-American. My parents do not speak any Japanese and neither do I! It is somewhat of a problem as the Japanese think I can understand Nihongo. I didn't learn how to correctly pronounce "Hiroshima" until I was 49 years old, ad it was a 90 year old friend from Wisconsin who corrected my pronunciation.
Yes you must go!! And we actually chatted with a woman on the plane in that exact situation and she was so excited to finally visit. I hope you can go soon!
Beautiful!!! If you only had time to do either Nikko or Kanazawa, which would you recommend for a day trip from Tokyo. They both look so amazing. We are thinking if doing a Japan cruise with a few days in Tokyo before or after in 2025.

I love NIKKO. I had a trip with my Japanese wife last winter; the snow gave those temples and woods a magic atmosphere.
I would love to see it in the winter!

It is truly my honor! I'm so glad you've enjoyed them! I just posted the final day.
Jen, this looks like such a lovely and peaceful place. I'm loving the Japan series and looking forward to more.
Wow Jen. This video was so relaxing, I can only imagine how peaceful it was for you.
What a nice comment, Mallory! Thank you!
Such a beautiful video and I just love how you captured the peaceful nature of the area!
Thank you so much, Checonne!
Wow definitely one to make sure you don’t miss
It’s so pretty there. ❤️😘
I think I left part of my soul - must go back to collect it ❤️

Wow what a fantastic compliment - that's a HUGE goal of mine with my content (to show people places they've never seen) so that means SO MUCh to me!!!
@@JenLefforge 😊❤️ Lifelong learning. We can all teach and inspire while we learn, ourselves. It's one of the main reasons I love travel.
Saw Nikko in 1970 on a 4 day trip while stationed on Guam in the Air Force. The old temple parts look the same as they did then.
Loving this series. I’d love for you to consider a video about traveling internationally as a pescatarian.
This video was amazingly beautiful! The calmness your journey, to Nikko was lovely to view. I hope, one day to travel there.
I’m so glad that came across. Thank you!!
The buildings are just so spectacular! The areas you are touring are amazing. It looks so peaceful.
Yeah it was very other worldly and amazing and yet also I felt so at home. Still trying to process the experience!
How beautiful! Japanese architecture is stunning and this looked like a great way to see a lot of it!
Yes I honestly knew very little about it but now I’m in awe and want to learn more!!

We had to make some hard choices on where to spend our time but I was really happy with all that we did! So glad you've found the videos helpful!
@@JenLefforge I know what you mean. I am feeling that I will have to just do 1 day for Disney and therefore Disney Sea is the choice.
@@ark1978 That's definitely what I would do.
Wow! It’s gorgeous! Thanks for bringing us along. I’m also loving this style of video from you! ❤
Thanks, Ryan! I’m really enjoying the process too so that means a lot to me.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed Japan! Hope you'll come again and visit some other areas.
That is the hope! Thank you!
Congratulations on reaching 30K subs on both channels.
Thanks for sharing the footage of this beautiful place.
Gorgeous!
Thanks, Dawn!!
I thought I had an idea of how beautiful Japan was, but I was wrong! It's so much nicer! Enjoyed the vlog. Thanks for sharing your experience :)

woohoo- Jen, Yo! good footage, catch ya later,;))
What month did you visit there? Thank you
Hi Jen can't seem to find what time of year is it when u filmed this?? Epic content also 👌
We were there in early May just before golden week
We wish we Japanese could use Japan railways pass!!
I know! Although with the price increases coming up in October I think it will be less of a value.
It's not very informative. I am expecting much more details what to do and see
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this helpful video 👍
Absolutely my pleasure!
