The 2yr old boy being killed by the alligator is truly heartbreaking everytime i hear about it

In my opinion I think there should’ve been a rope barrier as soon as they could’ve put one up. Either way the parents/Carers should’ve been watching the child

    • @AudieHolland

Edit: *the alligator is innocent. The kid's father, Thomas Mosley was arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death and drowning his 2-year old son.*
No sensible parent would keep their *2-year old* kid near the water unattended. Without the alligator, the kid would have probably fallen in and drowned by itself.
I wonder: how much of a 2-year old boy will be left after a hungry alligator has finished with it?
I have no special love for Disney but in this case, perhaps the boy did just fall in and drowned.
Then later a curious alligator might have taken a bit out of the body and decided it wasn't proper to eat.

It kinda reminds me of that one case where a woman “sued” mcdonalds for serving coffee at an unsafe temperature, causing her 3rd degree burns when it spilled on her in her car. To be fair though, in her case it was a reasonable lawsuit cause all she was asking for was reparations for her medical bills, because if you look up the extent of her injuries, they were pretty extensive and quite painful. Shame that she got blasted on newspapers for it though.

In addition, if visitors ever take the opportunity to visit the Everglades and Alligator Alley, the Park Rangers explain just how dangerous these beasts are, including their amazing ability to leap up out of the water to grab their prey and pull it under the water in the infamous death roll. I applaud Disney for taking the time to install their warning signs at all beaches and other venues containing open bodies of water.

The official investigative reports states that there was a sign that says no swimming. There was not a sign that warned of gators. The child was standing in a couple of inches of water, bent forward to collect the water in a bucket for a sand castle, when a gator grabbed him by the head. The father did go into the water to try to save his child. His hands were injured by the gator's teeth and the gator got away.
Also, the report indicated that the lagoon was not a popular place for gators because of the high activity. Without a warning, the out of state visitors would not have known that there was danger at the hotel's beach.

There is a rule of thumb in Florida. If there is a body of water, there is an alligator. Bay Lake is massive, and most of DW is conservation land. It is literally impossible to fully control the movement of wildlife. I’m surprised the teen boy who climbed on the monorail tracks wasn’t mentioned. Long story short: A young teenage boy was with a group of friends and decided it would be funny to climb onto the tracks before the monorail came in Disneyland/Disney World. Sadly he couldn’t hear his friends or anyone yelling at him to get down before the monorail… well you can picture the rest. Hard to find articles on this because Disney likes to keep the happy friendly perspective though

      A) This was in Disneyland in Anaheim, not Disney World in Orlando. B) He wasn’t goofing off with friends, he was a 19 y/o attempting to sneak into high schools’ grad nite. Security did yell at him repeatedly to warn him but he willfully ignored them and this was 100% his fault. And it’s really not hard to find information about this, it’s just not brought up often because it is from 1966 and there is zero reason to still be talking about a purely avoidable incident from more than 50 years ago.

That’s a common rumor but not true, people have been pronounced dead on property before. It was -potentially- more true like, decades ago, when there were issues with Disney employees being instructed to contact Disney management before emergency services, but this has been outdated policy for a long time. And yes, in the grander scheme of things, there really haven’t been a lot of incidents considering the millions of visitors the Disney parks get every year. It doesn’t help that most dramatic incidents referenced are from decades ago. If you Google recent incidents, most going back years are due to pre-existing conditions, or accidents that could’ve happened anywhere, like people tripping.

The nachos incident is pretty much on the restaurant but also on the parents. Common sense says that you don't let your toddler have a hot dish like nacho dip until you are certain that the temperature won't harm him or her if a spill occurs. Of course the toddler is innocent. Kids spill stuff. It's up to adults to look out for their safety.

"They sued Disney claiming the nacho cheese was served at an uncomfortably hot Temperature"
Yeah, Disney! You should know to serve your food cold just to make sure a circumstance like a kid falling off a chair grabbing onto his food tray for support and then nacho cheese pouring down on him doesn't happen!

@@johnbockelie3899 the coffee was dangerously and unnecessarily hot and had already received over 700 complaints and warnings. To which McDonald's did not listen.
The woman that was burned received third-degree burns, stayed in hospital for 8 days and had to undergo medical treatment (including skin grafts) for 2 years. During which she was partially disabled. Yes, she did hold the coffee in a very unfortunate way and spilled it on herself. But that doesn't change the fact that you shouldn't serve coffe at that temperature.
Plus she only wanted her medical expenses covered and was ready to settle for 20,000$. McDonald's wasn't. (they apparently wanted to pay 800$ tops.)
But yeah... most people should still be aware that coffee is generally hot so idk if the warning is that necessary.
