When I played youth soccer, we played every Sunday and my dad would take me to every game; he had use our VHS to tape the game (and for you kids out there, taping a game on VHS is like using a DVR or Tivo - if that is still a thing). And no matter how hard he tried, someone would either tell him the score or play the game on the radio and he would be stuck hearing the game. This happened literally every Sunday, and this was in the early 90s. We didn't have internet availiable or cell phones or any other way to what the game with fresh eyes. I played Fall soccer for 4 seasons and I think only he only had 2 games where he avoided the score or outcome before getting home.

As for the Eagles themselves.....they don't give up. They don't get mentally defeated. They don't stop adjusting. Like you said, to beat them requires playing not only a perfect game, but a dynamic game that adjusts to their adjustments. It's like they come out for the first 3 quarters testing the kinks in your armor. Then in the 4th they launch a full on assault knowing exactly what they have to do. Is it pretty? No. But I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss all day.
