Sounds like state of colorado is on the hook for full cost of the potential income of that calf... steer full grown value at the time of when that calf WOULD sell.... heifer that calves more steers, calculate how many calves over the life of that heifer and that loss in revenue.... colorado state should have to cover that cost.

Ranchers in Canada and other countries have learned to adapt and live with large predators. Why can't these people?

Because they have a right to defend and protect their farms, livestock and families from meat eating carnivores! The tree hugging fairy's who voted for this should have to foot the bill!

Front Rangers voted for this because they don't have to live with them in their backyard. They just think they look cute on t-shirts.

@philicious5280 Who is to say what the "greater good" is? That argument has been used to justify all sorts of questionable things. I spend as much time in the forest as anyone, and the ecosystem I see is just fine. The only thing that has changed from my perspective, are the ranchers I know (and myself) now risk felony charges just for protecting their herds and themselves, should these wolves get really hungry- and they will. If the "greater good" is just giving a giant middle finger to the people who supply our food, then I want no part of it. I don't think I'm alone here.

The forests and wildernesses of Colorado are not your backyard. Play make believe all you want, but you have no jurisdiction or power over them. The voters do.

You're making up a story in your head so you feel superior, that you somehow understand the situation better than others. You falsely claim that the other side has a simplistic reason for their decision and then imply they are just silly, well good for you, you won an argument with yourself. Try being serious.

Wait until someone's kid get eat by a cute lil wolf. They did this shit with coyotes east of the Mississippi back in the late 80s. They said it would be good for the eco system, it would keep the deer heard in check! Now we have a uncontrollable pestilence that cant be control and they feed mainly off of our live stock and house pets. Bravo government Bravo!
