Well there are multiple engine fixed wing airplanes with long battery cables leading form the nose of the plane to the ESC out on the wings that don't have any problems with no added capacitors.🤔 I have one with 3 feet of wire between the batteries and the ESCs out on the wings, its had Years of flying on it.🤔 no problems. induction in DC is not a listed problem now with AC, its a big problem that can mess with all kinds of data lines and systems.😎

Can we extend esc to motor wire?

I have heard disconnecting battery from ESC while motor runs is bad for the ESC, is that true?

I couldn't say for sure. It would be easy to avoid doing it.

    hi ,
I heard the same issue couple of days back. i searched for a some kind of equation where i can justify it with some theory. i have calculated the self and the mutual inductance of the wire. It came out to be very small value over a length of 2 Mtr. I decided to take a oscilloscope and measure the voltage spike. I couldn't find Anything that serious ,the max voltage spike was about 2V.
someone please comment how true this issue is. also please let me know how to prove (mathematically or experimental) this problem.
    any help highly appreciated.
    thank you

I would believe your numbers. The long wire ESC problem is probably more of a myth than reality. I tried to explain it best as i could but in the end the wires would have to be very long before it would be a matter of concern.

Man...just run the wire. This crap aint gonna happen..i believe u would need serious length of wire for that electrical hammer effect to happen...if u extend it 2inches shouldnt be an issue..im gonna on my latrax tetons..3 of em all came apart at the connector because its too damn short..hardly have room to solder it n already soldered 1 n came out again pos..so im going to put in new wires if it possible if not i will extend the wires maybe 2 inches n put heat shrink around it...
