I was there from 2012-2015 and it was the BEST years of my life. But they lie in this video. At the end of job corps they don't help you find work they throw you out and let you do it all yourself. But it doesn't even come close to how great this program is. How fun how many friends and even family you can make. If I could go back and do it all over again the exact same way I would take that opportunity in a heartbeat same people and all. Miss it there. Look up the song Job Corp Bitches by Driz. Song is BANGIN!

I attended the a top of my class TCU Advanced Training program January 2003 to August 2004. I enjoyed the Amtrak rides to Winona, MN and the boat ride on Lake Superior near Duluth, MN and other trips. The rec trips to Guthrie theater, Mall of America, Target center and some Timberwolves basketball games was an experience. I used to ride the 84 Bus route on Snelling Avenue to Mall of America or went north to Mall there or AMC theater and Barnes and noble, Shinders and Best Buy. Also had an internship at Social security office downtown Minneapolis then walked to House of Wong Chinese restaurant and cheap theater to the east of the job corps. The only problems I dealt with was a lot of racist bigotry and how so many companies think you must be a felon of you attend job corps. I wasn't a felon but seeing lots of haters there as were near a Muslim Mosque met a few friends but still it was an experience. Since my time there the jobs I've applied for such as railroad, airlines, credit unions, etc are so rude and haters these days to job corps kids and adults. I will write more later.

Hey there! Fellow job corps student here; I'm at 81 percent completion and am applying for TCU at this very moment. From the video, the St. Paul center looks FANTASTIC! So if you don't mind, I have a couple of questions. I'll be coming up all the way from Alabama as a TCU student. I read from your earlier comments about leaving campus that TCU students could leave and get jobs... Can I get a little more on that, like what days, what hours, so on and so forth? Because down here as a JC student, I can only leave on the weekends. Got a job though, so I'll be up there with money! That being said, how soon can I get a job up there? Is there another completion percentage? Because down here, I could get one once I reached 40 percent completion. What are the dorms like? I'm a room captain of a four-person room... Literally four beds, lockers for each, all of us sharing one bathroom. There are two desks built into the walls of the room as well. And no wifi; got to go to the rec center for that! Finally, what're the smoking policies? Totally against, or are there certain areas...? I'm only asking, because I vape. Down here they treat that like tobacco, which means absolutely NO vaping on campus whatsoever. Thank god I've got a full time job right! Haha. I really appreciate your response, and am sorry for you not being able to make it. BUT at least you tried, and that's all that matters! Hope to hear from you soon :)
