Bohemia needs to frickin hire the guy who made this map to touch up Chernarus and Livonia. Make them look more overgrown and post-apocalyptic.
It was intended for arma 3 exile and epoch and it was a golden era when there was Esseker exile servers.

I left that in the vid cos I was sure I’d use that pic. Then I made the thumb while the vid rendered, I didn’t like it, found the other one, made that too and it looked better! It was annoying but I used the best one.

This footbridge is real-world location in city of Osijek, Croatia - the city old name was Essek. Reddit says this map is based on the terrain in bosnia.
Not just the bridge, a lot of it reminds me of Osijek. I studied and lived there for 5 years, I'm amazed how everything reminds me of it!

This map is also available for Arma 3, in the Steam workshop description it is written: "Based on real world location in Bosnia, modeled after reference and satellite images". In Arma 3 it is 169 km², in DayZ it's 1/4 of the size of the Arma 3 map, in it current state. But it will be expanded with every update, until it has 169km² too!

@@DeadKaspar I don't care what steam says. Too bad this is pedestrian zone only, so no streetview, but everything around that dock is exactly the same as in Osijek. The riverside walkway, flowerbeds, streetlamps, buildings, stairs, texture and color of everything, bridge, streets connecting to the riverside walkway, their angles and slopes, hell even graffiti on the bridge remind me of the real ones. I''m 99.5% certain that it is real Osijek.
@@CroaticusMagicus Dude, that's what I'm saying. They based the map on the city of Osijek. Essek (or Essegg) is the german name for it.

I'm not having a go, i seriously love dayz so much. however i love the private citizen modders more. i hope these great people get time to enjoy their hard work.
I love how dense the map is. The modded maps always add far more clutter and makes it feel so much more immersive.

Fantastic as usual, Paul. Your by far my favorite Dayz streamer. Most only care about pvp where as you bring a nice mix of everything. I especially love your passion for the detail and beauty of exploring these worlds. I can't wait to jump in and try Esseker myself.
As a diehard Livonia fan, I've been waiting for another lush summer map to enjoy. This looks incredible.
Well, I was watching him play and I was impressed with the map so far. Then he came to this part of the map at 14:03. That looked so familiar to me. I did research and found that this map is based on town called Osijek in Croatia the town I live in. That's pretty freaking cool.

Esseker is based on a location in Bosnia, I found it interesting to know they actually used satellite images to help create the map.
I think it is Osijek in Croatia... even old Austrian name for Osijek is Esseker...

tbh esseker needs to be a litteral vanilla map I think personally it would fit perfect cuz then people can make up different back stories bout it on like how it ended up like the way it is now compared to before the zombie outbreak

I’ve learnt from watching and playing dayz that you can tell if a player is uncon or dead because of how they are laying, if their head is to the side and their right arm is stretched out like a plane and their left arm is pointing down then they are dead, if their left arm is pointing down/out and their right arm is pointing up while they are looking at the ceiling then they are unconscious
I played this a bit ago. I remember you can spawn just outside the city. Also the big apartment complexs in the flooded areas typically have alot of good clothing loot. But not much for guns. But if you need ammo. The rooftops tend to have random ammo sometimes mags, and attachments.

As a console player(xbox), so jealous of modded maps like this. The debris and the flooded areas with docks between buildings are amazing. Watched your twitch stream where this content came from and enjoyed it immensely. Also, can’t remember if it was you or another streamer said Chernarus looks like everyone tidied up before evacuating unlike Essekers overgrowth and trash and I think that’s hilarious. Content is amazing as always.

I just wanna say: Jeeeeeesssuuuss, DayZ really did change a lot in last few years. I stopped "following" it (watching streams and vids) a long time ago, like before base-buildings were even a thing, and this definitely looks and feels different. I have mixed feelings about the progress tho, I think I kinda fell in love with that raw DayZ mechanics and with all I've seen now I feel kinda disconnected and alien. Still supporting RMZ, you were one of the great CCs out there. :)

Paul, just wanted you to know I'm hooked on your DayZ content and have watched several videos a second times because of your kindness to random players in a survival game. Years ago I found myself addicted to playing games on my playstation as I traveled for a living. I truely would love to play this game as I have watched about 25% of your content. My wife said she would divorce me if I bought a PC to play. So Brother keep making content for me too watch so I dont buy a PC and end in the big "D"...love you bye

When Livonia was introduced it was called the 'First DLC' for DayZ, so I'm hoping at some point there will be a second DLC that will also likely be a map (as to not put items/mechanics behind a DLC paywall).
Sadly, I doubt the modded maps we see made by community members on PC (Namalsk, Deer Isle, Esseker) will ever find their way to console. The amount of money it would take to build a system to give away unvetted modded content for FREE just doesn't make sense. MS and Sony don't like 'unvetted' or 'free' or spending a lot of money facilitating those things.
And they sure as fuck can't charge for modded maps/content to recoup their losses when it's all free on PC. Just a hard spot to be in for everyone. Unless you have a PC. ;)

All of the overgrown stuff is what I find is sorely lacking from chernarus. This looks SO epic!
There needs to be blood trails on wounded animals and players. It would be so cool to track down a wounded player after a fire fight
I've been playing that Map on V++ Deathmatch. The Snowstorms makes getting the shots much harder. They just need to add Waders so you can hide in tall Reeds and Duck hunt People. Use the Range Finder as your Scope the Optics work even without a Battery.
Beautiful map, i love the flooded city thats a nice touch, something we havnt seen yet in DayZ

A lot of places require pumps to keep groundwater from flooding low-lying areas. If nobody is there to run the pumps and there's no power, the areas will flood.
esseker is back? oh man i have to get into dayz again. its been YEARS since i played unfinished version of the map on arma 3.
Random crawling zombies in the water could.be a nice feature.
More unconsciousness 100% massively improves the game. Firefights have been so much more fun the last few days with unconsciousness.
I've never played this game or know anything about it but I saw a video I think about a year ago and it was very fascinating

Deer isle has a military base in the northwest swamp area that has alot of buildings in the water. Pretty sure RM has been there and looted there

It's literally the best.
@TheRunningManZ just a tip that I believe is still true. The way you can quickly tell if someone is uncon is
1. Breathing
2. They are bleeding(this doesn’t always happen tho so be careful with this one)
3. The legs/feet are not inline with each other. I’m almost certain this one is 100%. The only time a dead person has their feet not inlined is when the get killed while uncon in the first place.
Disclaimer tho I haven’t played much in this new update so I guess maybe the feet thing might not be true anymore but I doubt it. I mean I’ve been doing the feet check forever now😂
Edit:I got curious if number 3 was still true and I did happen to see the guy you killed at the end did not fall with his feet inlined. I guess maybe you could of knocked him first with one round then before he fell completely you killed him. I doubt it tho. So maybe number 3 isn’t so anymore. 🥶. That one was my favorite one.

I had a good first start. I got some good gear and moved around for several hours. I saw an amazing cave complex and died walking down a gradual grass bank to get to it. Dayz bugs are still a plenty!

Good vid! That map looks amazing! Only time I cringed was when I seen you had 3 piles of 9mm that all could have fit into one instead of taking up 2 extra slots lmao but that's a very little thing of course.

I personally love the old cherno map and still enjoy trying my luck there. I have successfully gotten geared up a few times but have Never gotten to play with anyonelse. I avoid ppl at all cost regardless of there appearance. The one time i decided to ignore my self and attempt contwct was when i had nothing but food and a crowbar. The dude said he was friendly but foolishly tried killing me the second i got near him. I ran screaming i only have a crowbar while he insisted i stick around but i never thrned back around to see if he followed and i found myself alone again.
Now i am fully geared with 2 fully auto guns and camo but i want to find nice ppl to play with
