I think it is quite believable when you consider that this nation did not emerge out of any kind of idealism but out of a need for the mercantile class and the property owners to have a nation that protects their monetary interests from the monarchy, but the founding fathers never intended for the working class to have any kind of real say in the creation of public policy. It was a huge mistake for them not to include some political mechanism -- a functional democratic structure , which is what corporations essentially have -- where individual citizens can unite together to wield real democratic power, but that can easily be corrected with a more practical and logical use of the internet. We have all kinds of domains. Why not a .pub for a public domain?
At the level of the supreme Court members are, there should be no questions about impropriety. As the top of our legal system they must maintain a level of ethics above all other and that's not what's happening

Its still unclear which case you guys are claiming Thomas was bribed on. Thomas is the most predictable of all the justices. He actually rules based on a coherent and consistent judicial philosophy.

I have disagreed with the supreme court at times over the years but I never thought that certain judges were up for sale, this is a first, Thomas really should resign now and protect the integrity of the court, he has shown he is lacking in both ethics and integrity.

Any questionable statements he's made? I mean, it just doesn't seem like there's any "there" there. This is not rocket science. Strict laws should be in place that a judge cannot take bribes, stating escalating fines and recusals/retries of cases based on repeated offenses and then finally disrobing if they don''t stop. A judge's impartiality is their job. Problem ended.

Supreme Court formed in 1789 but city council and county commission - and every lower federal court! - have higher ethics standards?
Bought and paid for, this is no good. I have disagreed with the supreme court at times over the years but I never thought that certain judges were up for sale, this is a first, Thomas really should resign now and protect the integrity of the court, he has shown he is lacking in both ethics and integrity.
Alito is also suspect.
