      I think it is quite believable when you consider that this nation did not emerge out of any kind of idealism but out of a need for the mercantile class and the property owners to have a nation that protects their monetary interests from the monarchy, but the founding fathers never intended for the working class to have any kind of real say in the creation of public policy. It was a huge mistake for them not to include some political mechanism -- a functional democratic structure , which is what corporations essentially have -- where individual citizens can unite together to wield real democratic power, but that can easily be corrected with a more practical and logical use of the internet. He has issued a statement, and I got this from Variety (googled): Ken Burns has made a statement after a photo surfaced of the documentary filmmaker with Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas and billionaire David Koch. While Koch has funded one of Burns’ documentaries, Burns maintains that he and the Supreme Court Justice have no connections or relationship.
      “Around ten years ago, Ken was stopped and asked to take a photograph with a Supreme Court Justice and David Koch, who was a supporter of public television and would later provide some funding for his film, ‘The Vietnam War.’ So he took the photo, as he has done with many, many others. Other than the taking of that photograph and innocuous pleasantries, that’s the extent of his contact with Justice Thomas,” a spokesperson for Burns said in a statement to Variety.

      @linguaphile42 Год назад

      @@zeevanatashazazhinne3136 No, but I don't see any other evidence you have of anything. Like zero, right? Do you have any other connections he has to anyone on the right? Any questionable statements he's made? I mean, it just doesn't seem like there's any "there" there. I don't have to believe in anyone, but I don't just up and cancel someone because he's in a picture with a rich guy who's not even a criminal or anything. This seems pretty reactionary on the part of people who have seen one photo.
