Probably, this pigeon is weak or injured. The pigeon does not move from this spot at all.
Kintaro notices that the pigeon doesn't run away, so he finally touches it. But he doesn't hurt it, which is amazing. Gorillas are such gentle creatures.
Other fun scenes
There's a visitor in the gorilla house, so Gentaro, the older brother gorilla, is overjoyed to go and say hello! Gentaro looks like he's having a lot of fun. One reason is that the keeper who is navigating the guests is his human foster father.

逃げない鳩に気づいたキンタロウがついに鳩に触ります。でも傷つけはしないのにはビックリです。さすがゴリラは優しい生き物ですね。

Kintaro's curiosity about the pigeon is wonderful to watch. Just like a human toddler. The pigeon is definitely injured. I hope the keepers will catch it and tend to the injury. Gentaro is so cute with his shows of strength. He is getting big and strong. My two favorite child gorillas.
That pigeon is injured, that’s why it was not flying away. You could see his leg is opened up and see flesh, he’s injured.

I kinda knew kintaro would be scared if he got close to the pigeons because he’s just a baby still,,, he would probably really freak out if he actually caught one with his hand because he wouldn’t know what to do it would be flapping its wings scaring him in and him scaring the bird that would be funny,,, I love you big guy

Kintaro sees the pigeon again,tries to give it a 💋 by getting down and climb towards the 🐦,but the 🐦 didn't want any part of that,kintaro left the 🐦 alone.Hoprfully,the 🐦 will get better.

I hope Kintaro doesn't get sick from eating the pigeon's poop...I was very surprised (I don't know why since he is a sweetheart) that he didn't hit it or throw it, he actually seemed not sure what to do and left it alone. Now he probably won't chase them anymore since he's gotten so close to one. I do hope the vets take the pigeon, not only to help it, but to keep anything it might be carrying away from the Momotaros.
Gorillas wouldn't be likely to hit/throw/attack it. Chimps, on the other hand...
I think Kintaro is confused why the pigeon wasn't flying away. Literally every other pidgeon he has ever hand waved toward has done so. Then he meets one that doesn't when he is trying to shoo it away and is confused.
I really hope he decided to eat the poo because it looked good for some reason. Like food. I really hope... lol

You can see on the bird that his rear leg is opened. Please talk to one of your Vet's at the zoo, and see if you can't help the bird. I do enjoy watching your videos but not if it's at the cost of another injured animal.

1:34 That strategy, slow motion, didn't work well at all. I think Kintaro might like falling from heights. He doesn't seem to be injured or slowed down. He has a gorilla body, after all.
