On that video you can see on her right shoulder where he bite her when they are going inside. Thank you so much for getting in touch with the zoo about the green rope being dangerous and needs to be removed. ❤
Even in the wild the same thing happens . Especially a silverback must get enough bait . Gentaro is getting to learn how he can behave as a silverback in the near future.

They look as if they are healthy enough and that they get enough food, but they all want the ice fruits so maybe not enough to go around for the family!
Momo grew up at Ueno zoo and was very spoiled while living there... they get the best food i've seen on youtube. Big slices of 🍉 , frozen yogurt, celery stalks, lettuce heads not pieces. I truly believe that this zoo is the stingiest when it comes to food...even Shabanis troop eats better.

That was the first time I've seen Gentaro looking in the pond for food. Normally it's only Kintaro and Momotaro who go there. Although I was surprised to see Genki go to the pond the other day.
The question is , are they going to listen to you. If they don't then you can go over their heads or else.Lets pray they do. It should have take a guest to notice it in the first place, they should be on top of that.
Oh dear 🙄 Gentaro was probably trying to eat something Momotaro wanted. Sometimes Momo wants all the food to himself, and feels he should eat first AND eat all the food. On the other hand the sound of Gentaro "alarm screaming" means he nearing age puberty, and is challenging dad Momo more often lately. It's been hot though, and notice that Momo is a bit testy at times. But things usually calm down after everyone has had their morning fill of food.
Apparently,gorillas do fight over food,their nature.The bushes were in the way,so i could not see who was screaming,but was told it was over an ice cube that momot wanted. Gentaro will defend genki,and genki will defend gentaro.I've seen in previous videos even tho gentaro is in the wrong,genki does not want momot to hurt gentaro,or to see genki to be hurt by momot for food,as long as the incident ends without anyone harmed.I do hope the double rope hanging that kintaro plays with is cut into,this way he won't be wrapping it around his arm or neck.Thank you for your understanding with this issue
Yes I believe a five year old gorilla strangled by rope in enclosure in Prague Zoo (I Believe Prague) some years ago. Thanks for advocating for safety of gorillas 😍🦍♥️🥰 Poor Gentaro I hate hearing or seeing him unhappy but he got an iced treat too in the end so he didn’t miss out. Even us we have difficulties with our parents. But it’s part of life. Gentaro is getting to know how to behave as a silverback. More than Momotaro he would be more supportive and social silverback.
It may be Genki who was being scolded and Gentaro came to try and help her. If you watch closely it appears Momotaro is already started to scold then Gentaro comes in from the right a few seconds later. and tries to help her. I could be wrong as its difficult to see clearly but it does look that way to me.
Possibly it is an indicator of becoming independent. She adores his son Gentaro . At the same time his dad Momotaro maybe trains him to be more precious adult gorilla.

But this time, their enclosure was filled with watermelon treats. He deliberately went and attached Genki, and Kintaro for theirs. Either the heat is frying his brain, or he has some built up hostility towards Genki. I say that's because this is the second consecutive time he has attacked her for no apparent reason, other than just being hateful towards her.
@@RuthPreach He isn't "being hateful." The other time it was because, if you watched carefully, Gentaro hurt Kintaro and Kintaro cried out in alarm, so he and Genki instinctively moved toward him. However, Momotaro clearly got confused when Genki lunged toward Kintaro and seemed to think she was also going to attack him, so he tried to intervene. These things happen, but that's why Gentaro and Kintaro urged him to stop, and life immediately returned to normal. Regardless of whether there's enough food for everyone, it's typical of silverbacks to prevent the rest of the troop from eating until he's eaten. Call it greedy, but it serves an advantage: if the food happens to be unhealthy (poisonous, parasitized, etc.), he'll be the most likely to survive it, and even if he doesn't, he'll at least be able to protect his troop from becoming deathly ill. If only humans could forgive and forget as quickly as gorillas do. Momotaro is doing exactly what he should, even if the environment is controlled.

Why not separate them when they eat. Zoos will always say that is because they want them to live like they would in the wild. But they are not in the wild, they are trapped in captivity imprisoned, how is that enclosure representing the wild? Separate them when they eat, you are already almost hand feeding them when you set up the food feast for them.

That's becuase Momotaro has never experienced spending time with other male gorillas in his life. In food, he is a bit selfish but it is not his fault. I had no chance to learn how to behave in a gorilla society. Now he is getting to know more about rules thanks to his wife Genki.

Gorillas do not float. Their lean body mass is too dense. They are not natural swimmers. They avoid large & deep bodies of water. In the wild they maybe have to cross small streams in their travels. But they don't spend time & play in the water.
When are you going to give these poor animals more space and food? Genki is terrorized by mo all the time and you but stupid titles like “Mo loves his wife!” It’s ridiculous. He needs more food and more space so she doesn’t have to gnaw off anymore of her fingers. They are all terrified of him and you all keep letting it happen. When does she get a break especially at her age?! Find Mo another home or bachelor pad. It’s horrible he is nothing like the father Shabani is and there is a reason, your environment and habitat is nothing like theirs.

いじめられて育った子はいじめっこになると聞いたことがあります。それにゲンタロウは年齢の割に小さいです。父ちゃんに遠慮して十分に食べられないせいじゃないかと心配です。
ゴリラ舎の外（グラウンド）では、餌の取り合いはどうしても起こりますが、飼育員さんはそれを分かっているので、室内に入ると、ゴリラ全員に平等にエサが十分わたるようにしているようです。
なので、ゲンタロウだけがエサが少なくなることはないと思います。
人間に育てられてから、ゴリラ社会に戻ったので、どうしても遠慮してしまう性格になったのかもしれません。あくまで憶測です。
とはいっても、人工哺育なのにここまでゴリラ社会に順応できたのは飼育員のサポートが凄かったと言えます。普通ではありえないですからね。
ゲンキのお兄さんの京太郎くんは、人間に慣れ過ぎてゴリラ社会へ戻れませんでした。だから、単独で飼育されていました。
