- This is a quick one to point out the need to recognize different types of torx fasteners so you can use the proper tool.

I have replaced those tail lights several times I have a kit with Torx and Torx plus but I only use the Torx and it works for everything LOL never damaged one
I’ve done the same thing, until I got the set.
Awesome. Luckily it wasn't damaged from wrong socket
Yup. So, when are they gonna stop coming up with new fastener types?
I’m always looking for a reason to be buying a new tool. Looks like I found one 😂 Lisle suits me just fine.
No tool box is complete without a set of torx plus. 🤣
A deer broke that same taillight on my 2020 Tundra Platinum 4x4 back in the spring. I ordered the OEM light from Sparks Parts and the new light was delivered the very next day!! Thank you for the tool recommendations 👍
Glad to help
The TP standard still requires that regular Torx Drive will still work with TP.
It might.
As always your videos are great. Went and ordered a kit of 'torx plus' who knew. Thanks!
Don't ever sell that Tundra
Thanks! Nope, not gonna sell it, my wife would kill me. It’s her daily.
I own the OTC torx and torx plus set planning on removing a f150 truck bed to replace a fuel pump customer decide to tackle that job after all 😅😅😅 and now I have them if I need them 😎😎😎
Right on!
So take out the torx plusses out, toss them and replace them with normal torx or normal screws.
I don’t blame you.
I'd get some door edge guards put on the edge of tailgate to hide the kiss and thanks I was on the fence about getting a set torc plus from snap on but lyslie looks like better deal
Sure thing Larry, cheers!
I repair Macbooks and man, Torx Plus is SO much better than regular Torx. Apple recently switched over a lot of their screws to Plus and they have a much more secure fit which is extremely important on stuff on that small of scale. haven't stripped one yet.
the $10 I paid for the bits is so worth it vs the risk of stripping a tiny T3 or T5
however for stuff like this? yeah, miss me with that bs
Makes sense.
TP is much stronger than plain Torx. Better engagement.
Ha ha correct tool. I just pull my bowl full of bits and alan wrenches till i find one that is close then a bfh to make it fit git er done 😂
Lol That works too.
How much for t hextail light from Toyota
It was around a hundred bucks.
That’s just infuriating can’t use a common bolt have to something for no reason that’s idiotic
The guy who suggested it & the one that agreed should have been fired
Agreed
Why Toyota? Why? Toyota has gone the way of the Germans.
Special tools galore.
