A cipher that helped me understand the bloodfiends better was Bloodborne. In BB blood alters the physiology and psychology of those who come into contact with the old blood. In BB there are many types of beasts due to the proliferation and dilution of blood. Perhaps the blood of the formless mother is more pure in the shadow lands and the bloodfiends are the result of her more direct influence.

I’d like to point out while they do not have horns, they do appear to have bony knots, another aspect of the crucible.
Maybe this tribe was a tribe of knotted people, a type of kin that’s looked down on by the horned people.
Maybe that’s the relation?

Just from a phisical and behavioural aspect, i thought they could be ancestral followers. They are around the same size, they behave in very similar ways with most sitting around with one or two doing a ritual

@@nbmoleminer5051 How so? They occupy the remains of the uld/elden john dynasty exclusivly,which predate the golden order and the eternal cities, and i think, given the archtechture, it was around at the same time as the rhua civilisation
Plus, the thing they worship is called a ancestor spirit, they are hornless but specifically want horns, and worship budding horns, as the start of life. And they shy away from the erdtree as well, which is why they would like the land of shadow.
Out of all the exisiting species/cultures, i think they are by far the most likley. But i also think its just as likley they are new culture
