Amazing how different US, UK & AU XR400R’s come from the factory. Mine being US is off-road only simple wiring compared to yours. Great video though...helped me identify an aftermarket headlight wiring...
Im going to copy now ..Ive got the red vface for my 400..cheers for the video
Cheers mate for the video
Been looking at aftermarket headlights for a while but not sure if they would fit, and the only vids I could find were the yanks who have a different wiring harness.
Looks like I’m getting this one
Cheers from NSW
jack.
good stuff mate.
Thanks mate 👍
keep an eye on that light for overheating and melting everything, I did a similar conversion on a Lambretta scooter years back and a new high-powered light melted the wiring harness and the reflector and browned the glass off so much it was dimmer, it was when xenon kits first went on sale, I didn't use a heat sink or ballast doh !
Great video dude!
Just ordered one for my kx450f (which I’m planning on making street legal) and the description said it was plug-n-play on all fuel injected 4-strokes, which to me sounds weird cause all different manufacturers have their own plugs i reckon..
Been doing alot of research on this lighting subject and found Baja Designs makes two different headlights for motocross, depending on your stator output, and to fit them to your bike they make different wiring kits depending on manufacturer, model, year etc. So how could Racetech’s light be plug-n-play on all bikes…
Couldn’t find any other info about this headlight except for this video, so thank you for figuring out the wires and making this thorough presentation of the Racetech full LED head light!
Does it has bright light spot(better than stock one)? Can you make some nighttime video?
Hey mate. Thinking of buying one of these for my CRG250L. I'm wondering if it has a decent low beam as to not blind others. Also any chance of a video showing it's performance? Even if it's a simple no voice video on a empty road.
Did you convert your XR400 to street legal, or was it built that way by Honda? I’m curious about your speedometer and gauge set, it looks like the 250L setup. I’m considering trying to adapt that setup to my XR400, and wondering how practical that idea is. Any information is appreciated!
G'day Jim. My xr400 was built that way out of the factory. If you're going to put on a speedometer there are a bunch of digital options these days. I had to replace my current analogue gauge a few years back, think it cost me close to 400 dollars! Also I'm not sure about the offroad versions but you may need to change out the stator to allow for more electricity production to run indicators etc....👍
Hey mate. It's set up for street legal from the factory. Pretty easy to d oo yourself though and there are a few after market dash options you can go with....firstly you may need to add a stator to provide power to instruments and lights. There are heaps of vids on the topic. Good luck. Have fun.
Hey mate
Do you have a dc converter on it
As I tired to do it to my xr400 but my high beams don’t work and I found out the xr400 runs AC power and not DC
Any help would be great
Thanks
G'day mate. It's been a while since I've done this conversion. I'll take a look today and check. I've since gone back to my original headlight but am using an LED bulb.
Nice video. Did you check if you had ac current on your headlight bulb before installing these lights?
Nope, just wacked em straight in.
@@vobbyhanna ok thanks
hello, do you have a DC regulator? In the instructions they write that the light does not work on the AC current
Hey mate. No I didn't add a DC regulator, maybe its already got one. My bike already had lights on it from factory. No doubt if you are starting from scratch you may need to add a few bits and pieces check out this forum thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/1184523-recommended-regulator-rectifier-to-run-led-lighting-on-stock-xr400-stator/
@@vobbyhanna I still want to ask what type of capacitor are you using? I let the stator rewind according to ricky stator. I ordered trail tech 150 w regulator. Thanks for the q info
Hi mate would that work for a Honda xr125
Cheers
it works for any supermoto or enduro
Did it come with straps to strap it on forks?
Haha is that what they were!
Vobby Hanna bruh that’s how they mount ya goose. Your comment just made my day 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Would this work for my Yamaha dt50rsm 08
Yes
Obsolutely😊👍🏻

Make dc connection for leds or else leds could burn...or use voltage regulator to convert ac to 12v dc....
I think the xr400 has reg-rec for the headlights from the factory.
