This song has always made me hold my head up with pride, when the ones in their ivory towers were putting the rest of us down, now more than ever.
Thank you Alabama for giving us this song, Thank you to the person that requested this, Thank you Billy for playing it, and thank you to all my fellow countrymen pulling together, showing our worth.
God bless America.
Preach 🙌🙌🙌🙌
It's always those that are looked down on that when shit hits the fan that are the most needed.
❤🇺🇸 ❤🗽❤
Please, please, please react to “Roll On” by Alabama. Do it for all the truck drivers out there 😊
Rachel Warner. Yes!! Thank you!!
Yes!! I grew up in a trucking family!! Literally like a family anthem!!
BILLY..there is no 40 hour week
My husband is a truck driver and
They work 60 hrs/ week
Absolutely!
That's one of my favorites.
I thought about this song the other day as I was going down the freeway and saw a semi truck beside me. Waved at him and when I caught up with him at the feeder light, rolled down my window and thanked him. We should thank everyone that is working on the front lines when we get the chance. It only takes a moment - but they need to know they have been invaluable to us during this!
"It's amazing what can be accomplished when no one is worried about who gets the credit." - Ronald Reagan -
Thank you!!! My husband is a trucker! You have no idea what how you probably made that mans day. Much respect to you!!
@@lifeunedited6792 Please tell your Husband thank you! If it wasn't for truckers I wouldn't have my medical supplies. That I need to live. When this all happened and they were closing restaurants I panicked. They were the 1st ones I thought of. ♥️
I'm a Detroit auto worker. We'll be going back to work May 4th. I appreciate everyone who has to work still to keep everyone else above water. I appreciate the military service also
Kelly C I’m glad you’ll soon be going back to work. You may have to be careful for a few more weeks. Be safe and stay healthy!
Detroit Rock City!
I prefer Alabama auto workers they are not blood sucking union leachs
I was a Fairfield steel mill worker for years. It made my wife and daughter have masters degrees, a paid off house and comfortable life. I appreciate all of you doing what you have to do.
Didn’t ever think I’d be turning wrenches for a living but I’m proud everyday I get home work knowing what I do keeps people on the road and I thank the good lord I’ve been making a paycheck during this time
Thank you for all you do Levi
You and me both brother. Been turning wrenches for 20+ years. I been tellin reactors to react to this song because with the year we are having we need this to be the anthem again.
My husband is a truck driver, and I'm thankful the nation now realizes how important they are. I just hate it took something like this. My oldest son works for AT&T, my other 2 children are working for door dash. I'm proud to say that my family is essential! While I'm at home keeping the home fire burning (she keeps The home fires burning by Ronnie Millsap)!
Im a trucker myself, and it feels weird to be looked at in a positive light and thanked. So used to being treated like trash. Hopefully after all thia is over people remember what jobs are really important... but im not gonna hold my breath.
Alabama is GREAT!
Try "Give Me One More Shot" "I'm In A Hurry " "Roll On" or "If You're Gonna Play In Texas" "My Home's In Alabama" by Alabama if you haven't already.
All of Alabama's music is great!
@@jenniferbutcher3028 Amen!
Mountain Music has always been one of my favorites too.
Alabama has so many #1 hits it’s insane.
@@jenniferbutcher3028 yes. A couple of months ago this elderly lady was really surprised because I listened to Alabama, as well as a bunch of other old groups/singers.
Alabama "I'm guilty of love in 1st degree"
I’m a banker. We never get recognition, and I believe that people like doctors, nurses, military, grocery workers, retail workers, and everyone that doesn’t get to quarantine because we are essential workers. It terrifies us bankers for having to deal with cash everyday, which is some of the dirtiest things you can deal with at this time. Thoughts and prayers for everyone risking their lives to help
Combat this pandemic. You just made me a patron because one I actually have some money now, and two, you are one of the ONLY people out there that recognized bankers. I know we aren’t considered front line, but we also are some of the people that are essential and CAN’T quarantine... Thank you, thank you, thank you, you are an amazing reactor and your videos light up some of my dark days. I also want to thank you for your service...You sir are a true hero, and the military doesn’t always get the recognition they deserve, so a million times thank you!
I thank my banker on the daily! Thank you so much. We fast food workers definitely feel your pain of not being thanked as well.
I've never been a banker, but I was a cashier years ago. Money is *the* dirtiest thing you can handle. lol Cashiers (and other cash handlers) learn quickly that regular hand washing is a must!
I'm glad you waited this long to listen to this now. it is perfect. this song always brings a tear to my eye.
Dave Condreay me too
This is a great time to remind people about all these workers.
Basically this song is a shout out to all the essential jobs that keeps the world turning. Thanks Billy. I'm a truck driver and it makes me feel proud to do what I do more so now than ever. To see signs along the interstate saying thank you truckers makes me feel appreciated and that some people do care.
It just goes to show that a lot of people don't really know and understand what they have until situations like this. Hopefully now more people understand and remember after all this is over.
My husband is a truck driver also, thank you guys!! Be safe!
Bobby thank you! As someone who depends on medical supplies. I appreciate the truckers.
@@lifeunedited6792 your welcome, thank you
@@sherrythomas3028 your welcome, thank you!
We see the blue collar as the backbone of the nation.
I'm a farmer...I'm working!
Hubby's a master carpenter, he's working!
I’m so glad you reacted to this song. A whole lot of people in America need to be very proud of how they are literally running the country right now.
my husband is a former trucker and one of my sons is now. the other is a delivery driver. i was a cna/ waitress. OUR FAMILY IS THIS SONG.
Though, having been a kid on a small farm, I can honestly attest that a farmer does something closer to a 100-hour week.
Not every week but yes expecially during hay season
John Yocum Farming is a whole life not just a job. And they are hurting bad right now. I was married to a dairyman for a few years and just couldn’t take it.
And believe me their efforts are appreciated. By me if nobody else.
My uncle had a small dairy farm and I used to love going there (tried picking up a bale of hay when I was a girl of 14 and couldn’t do it, but my male cousin age 15 lifted it like it was nothing!). But I didn’t realize they had to help cows give birth so much and take care of things like Milk Fever in those cows, etc., until I watched “Dr. Pol”. Man, oh man, do they work hard 👍🏻🥰‼️
My husband is a warehouse manager at a cold storage, which ships food domestically and internationally (chicken primarily). During this pandemic and quarantine and rush on food, he has practically lived at work, making sure trucks get loaded and sent out all over the country. They had so much stored that they are able to donate 500 lbs each friday to the organization feeding the local school kids. It has given me such a greater appreciation for how hard he works, and how hard the 16 guys he supervises work. There are so many jobs we just don't think of on a daily basis, and I think this situation has really highlighted how valuable they all are.
One of the absolute best groups ever in Country music, right here!!! Loved them then Love them still, always have, always will!!!
It has been years since I have heard this song. It gave me chills there at the end. I miss the days when we used to honor the blue collar workers. They are the meat and potatoes of this Nation. #effcovid
The farmers. The truck drivers. The CNAs. Grocery store workers. The construction workers. The mechanic's.
I agree please do Roll on by Alabama. My dad was a driver most of my life and I used to sing him home over the cb with this song. My father just retired January 30, and as of March 17 he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that has spred to his liver and lymph nodes. My hero has been given 3 months to 1 year with us. I was just furloughed at work and it is the biggest blessing I could have been given. Even at 41 I hate watching Superman fade away
Loved this song as a kid. Now means a lot more to me. Pa was a coal miner, Brother was a truck driver, and I'm a RN charge nurse for the ICU, and daddy was a Paramedic.
I'm from a very small community in Alpine, TN. People here make fun that people from Alpine are so country and tough that their house cats are Bobcats lol but I will always rather walk in a small town local owned store and see a smiling familiar face and strike up conversation than walk into a Walmart any day.
This virus has had an enormous impact on my perspective. I have always loved my job and always wanted to help people. And when we do get to watch patience walk out of the ICU after fighting the COVID 19 it makes it all the more worth it. Am I tired, exhausted, muscles hurting all over. Yes of course but i will take it so that God dont take them. Stay safe everone. Above all else let's all watch out for the children. Not just our own but we all need to watch out for all the children. Keep an eye out to make sure people are staying at a safe distance from children who have to be out of their homes. It takes a village.
I grew up listening to this song.. gives me goosebumps every time. My father worked 45 years in a papermill and was a volunteer firefighter most of his younger years..
I've worked housekeeping and a nurse assistant so I always been the lowest person on the ladder. So I have always appreciated them. We dont get paid near what we should but I always put pride in my work.
My husband is a nurse who takes care of the elderly and he has been working 12-18 hours a day since this covid-19 started. Thank you to all who is on the front line God bless
It is interesting to think about when this came out, 1985. I was 9 or 10 when it came out, so I loved the song, just wasn't aware of the significance of it at the time. Back then, we just came out of the recession and really weak economy of the 70's, and the 80's we were starting to roar economically and things were starting to look a lot better. Compare that to now, and well, we had an economy that was greater than the 80's and even the 1920's before the Kung Flu came and crippled everything. It really shone a light on how certain things became highly important, certain things much less important, and also how much globalization became a weak point in our economy and production of things. Back when Alabama did this song, steel, auto, and coal miners were still a thing, but since then, those jobs mostly went away, desolved mostly because of politics and a shift from the industrial age to the information age. Globalization is part of the reason why getting masks and medication was so hard, because the companies that make them, make them in China and elsewhere. Problem with all that is that when a crisis like we have now comes up, they just seize production of those things and lock out every other nation on Earth.
i've always loved this song. i work in the grocery industry but many of my family are truck drivers. i've always felt the uplifting message in this song. those essential jobs that someone has to do. it's always made me feel like those people deserve more than they get. also why even if the customer service somewhere wasn't the best i always treat them politely and tip them (if a tip is customary). they often get treated as less than a person by others and that is why i hope to brighten their day and be an example for others. no matter their job always treat others with kindness, people are more than the job that pays their bills.
I get chills whenever I hear this song.
Thank you for doing this song & reminding everyone. I've been a trucker for 25 yrs, I've been through every state, met good people & happy when I get home.👍
Blue collar America is the backbone of this country. Ford may have innovated the 1st assembly line, but the workers along that line are what took it from an idea to a working well oiled machine of productivity. I'm in the the security, life safety equipment field. Being essential is such a good/bad thing. On one hand I'm working, making money to support my family and pay bills when others are home unpaid and struggling so I'm blessed. On the other hand I have to go into many different locations and deal with many people daily in our states hardest hit city then go home to my county, my home and risk exposing those I love and the people in my rural community. But I don't dwell on it. I have a job to do and a family to support so I mask up, go through the extra procedures it takes to get into the buildings I need to get into, do my best to wash up and not touch my face and hope I don't contract it and pass it on. But I'm not a hero, I'm simply an American, with American values, and American determination. There are millions like me rolling the dice everyday as they go about their job in the midst of this and this song is about that same American spirit. I'll leave you with this quote.
“America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand.”
President Harry S. Truman
I was raised by farmer parents in a rural small town. My daddy was so very proud that his "smart beautiful girl was leaving this town to make something of herself" and I believed in that for a long time. Now that I'm older I realize this fancy job of mine doesn't hold a candle to the importance of the farming jobs of my parents. Farming, trucking, housekeeping, and many others are the core of what makes this country run and I am so proud of my parents for all they have done in their lives and I appreciate them, and others just like them, more than I could ever put into words.
Love that reaction. Songs like this and other inspirational songs is one reason Alabama has always been my favorite group of all time.
TY BILLY for being REAL your getting COUNTRY MUSIC Hearts in the right place Alabama is the SUPER GROUP
I've been listening to Alabama since the late 70's when I was in high school. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. They are the best country band EVER.
True American heroes! Thank you.
I work for a small family owned and operated flooring business, it may not pay much but it keeps me comfortable and pays the bills.
Alot of people look down on blue collar workers but now that America is in crisis? Those same people act as if we are the hero's now but deep down I know most of them will just go back to lookin down on us..
There was a post the other day that said "Perks to working as an essential worker, its not all bad" and its like...that was such a backhanded compliment.. Those workers work hard whether there is a pandemic or not but now yoi are just realizing it?? I hope that people will change their outlook on us essential workers, but I know some don't care.
We needed this song and thank you so much for reacting to this song.
I use to work in a restaurant for the past 20 years. People think cooking is not a hard job, but if you do it for a few days you will say something different.
Danielle Noyes cooking in a restaurant and cooking at home are two different things. A lot of people don’t realize that . I cashier now but used to be in food service. A tough a stressful job !
I have had a few people walk out a few hrs after they started their shift. I really hate when people walk out. It is a sign of it was to much and could not take it. It was a slow day( $2500) night
My big brother is an iron worker...considered an essential job...makes me a proud baby sister.
Been driving for 17 yrs. I love this song alabama was is one of my fav bands. Saw them many times
U could do 3 days of just Alabama reviews. They only had 21 consecutive #1 songs. And that's still a record
I'm on Kidney Dialysis I didn't think I could appreciate the nurses more, but they have really impressed me over the last couple of months. I get treatments at the Hampton, Virginia VA Medical Center. The VA system has been hit hard so could you give a shout out for the VA's DRs, Nurses, and support staff. Almost all VA patients are compromised in some way and these amazing people are working the butts off to keep us safe and we can see the toll in their eyes and hear the exhaustion in their voices.
My mom taught two of them and my dad is related to one! Alabama is awesome!!!!
Alabama roll on
I grew up in the Midwest, the child of blue collar factory workers. When this song came out, I felt so proud to be their kid. Now, as a teacher married to a cop, this song resonates!
I absolutely love Alabama!!
I Love This Song! I remember when it first came out!!! This is REAL AMERICA ❤️🇺🇸❤️❤️✝️❤️
This has always been one of my favorite Alabama songs.
This song has always had a special place in my heart and still does.
Randy , Teddy and Jeff also known as Alabama don't live very far from me and they all still live here even after selling over 73 million albums. Still home town boys
This song speaks of the real ppl of America
The ones that make us great
The ones who work for so little
But give so much
Ive been no collar and blue collar all of my life building houses, doing orher types of construction,Assembly lines, machine operator, working in shops and other factories and even restaurants. And I've been proud of what I do all of my life bc my stepfather made me realize the world would not go around without ppl like us that was over 20 years ago. Big shout out to the people in the world like me and mine may God bless us all
Nearly 19 years working retail. Alabama was one of my favorite bands growing up as a kid. I’m thankful that I have a job, thru good days, bad days and hectic days. The thing is it shouldn’t take a tragedy or a pandemic to thank everyone for their hard work, especially it should come naturally. Billy, thank you for your service and for posting entertaining videos.
Many have never heard this song. Because of what you do Billy, you introduce these great songs to those that would never know it.
Evs at the hospital because we are the ones who sanitize these cova rooms to keep those nurses and docs safe daily
Rhonda Lemley Thank you!! Stay safe!!
Heidi Wasserman Awwww Thank you You stay safe as well ❤️
Billy I absolutely agree with you! The workers that used to be behind the scenes are now “On the front lines” and they deserve mad respect from the rest of us! BTW I think you are one awesome dude and from one Veteran to another I want to say “Thank You” for your Service to our country and that I really enjoy your Reactions! Keep up the awesome job you are doing!
I thought of this song as soon as all of this crud began. I remember when this came out. I loved it because my daddy was a truck driver, delivering fuel. This song is just one reason why I love country music. It deals with real life and helps you appreciate the little things. Loved this reaction! Stay safe, healthy and blessed! ❤️
I can sing just about every Alabama song - foundation of my childhood. I ended up downloading their greatest hits albums and just love listening to them while driving. Every single one is great!
Doesn't change my thinking at all. I'm 50 an always had one of those job's. Also loved this song since it was released. I'm in car manufacturing now in Mississippi.
I'm a truck driver. I've known for a long time how "essential" my profession is. Everything you have from the clothes on your back to the studs in your wall has been brought to you by a truck driver. I must say it's nice to have everyone else starting to realize this truth and I hope it lasts after this crisis is over.
As an "essential employee" talking to everyone else in quarantine, this song hits so much different than the last time I heard it
Makes my heart feel good u truly not only got this song
But that u loved it as well
They is still faith in this world thanx
I love this band
I climb trees for a living, sole provider for a wife and two young boys. Alabama is absolutely timeless music.. We can't ever forget, it takes us all together to make this place somewhere to be proud of
Mailman here. It'll take more than a virus to stop us!
Complete financial collapse, for instance.
Buy stamps...please? XD
Im a child care worker. We dont ever see recognition but its an important job and i love it.
My husband is a manager in our local supermarket, and he's always been proud of the work his team does, but never really felt like people appreciate them. And really the public didn't until people realized these store workers are going to stock the shelves no matter what. It might kpt be right on the frontlines, but they deal with a lot.
To all our our essential workers, volunteers, and those who are suffering or have lost someone due to COVID19 I salute you all
Alabama 's music has always been ahead of it's time, thye set the standard for country/rock and it is music meant for everyone. give " close enough to perfect" or Tenn River a listen
At this point I am just glad to still be working and bringing in a paycheck. So many who aren’t.
I loved the song then and even more now. Very appropriate for the current circumstances.
Awesome Song! Very Appropriate for this time were living in.🤠👍
Thank you Billy, I appreciate you and the appreciation
The Nurses the CNAs who can't hug their kids till the shower
thanks
Line life... Keeping the power on for America... Be your brother's keeper...
❤ amazing song, I work in health care, and I appreciate all of the people like me on the front lines every day God bless the USA
I can relate. I'm blessed to still be working. I'm humbled because everyone I know wants desperately to go to work, be productive, get a pay check! I guess I don't know any slackers lol Open America!!
Billy I am one of those essential workers. I work in a grocery warehouse. I work my 40 hours every week. I go in in the early afternoon and work until often after midnight. I just hope you know how much your work is appreciated. I am a subscriber and see that you put out quite a few videos every day. I like the way you do things. Your reactions are very genuine. If it's funny you laugh (Pray for You- Jaron and the Long Road to Love). If it is sad you cry (Concrete Angel- Martina McBride). If makes you WTF?! (Piggy's Got Back) we see that. Given how emotionally draining some of these songs are that has to take a toll on you. Yet every day we are treated some quality entertainment. It is what I look forward to when work is over. So Billy thank you for your time.
Alabama is the greatest country band ever, imho. No one has done it as well as they did before nor since. I haven't really listened to country music in over 20 years, but I always have Alabama on my playlist. Practically every song of theirs is a greatest hit. They are timeless. I love how this song ends with a piano fade-out of America the Beautiful.
Thank you for thanking those of us that can't stay home. From an Assistant Manager at Wendy's. You made my day, especially when people can be so rude.
I love Alabama! Respect the working man/woman!
I work as a dishwasher at a pizza restaurant and until a few months back I realized how important my job is. We dishwashers don't just do the dishes and take out trash, but we stock the front of the restaurant with ingredients plus the tools the guys and gals up front need to do their job. Since I started in Oct of 2019, my respect for dishwashers everywhere has skyrocketed cause of how important we are to a successful business.
Hey first time watcher but as a 20 yr truck driver the song is amazing the only thing that's different is truck drivers work 70 hours a week but almost 20 yrs later this song is still pretty amazing..... Stay Strong America 💪🙌
WOW! So glad you recognize great music that resignates in today's time. Being a Maintenance Tech, I'm a jack of all trades. This is a favorite of mine. Thank you
My husband is a over the road truck driver and people have always bad mouthed truck drivers and now they see they are the ones who keep the world going
I work as a gas station attendant. I very grateful to still have a job dispite the shorter hours. I'm going to be even more grateful when it's over. I love working for my money.
People forgot who keeps this country running. This song has always meant that, but it's a good time to remember.
Thank you for your appreciation brother! I thank you for your service, you are a hero! I could never do my job, if you did not protect my right to do so! I thank you, we as Americans need to get together to make all of this work! I am more than willing to put in 60 hours a week if it means my family will sleep warm and with a full belly! I thank you for reacting to this my friend!! Thanks!
My Mom loved Alabama, thanks Billy lots of memories with this
Please do she and I it describes my Mom and Dad perfect
may the rest easy together ❤
Gives me goose bumps every time they sing the "Hello America" part. Love that song.
This is real country song about real people. Alabama always brought it.
They need to bring this song back on the Count down... Bob Kingsley that just passed... rest in peace Bob
My daddy worked at the GM plant here in MI. I went there a few times. It was a line literally.
I appreciate you saying you respect the little jobs. I work fast food so thank you
I have ALWAYS had respect for ANYONE who works for a living. Both of my parents worked and taught me a good work ethic.
Great one. As allways. When you alone all the time it's like having a buddy to watch videos with. Thank you Billy you so crazy
Do “can’t keep a good man down” by Alabama. Among the others that have been mentioned. Alabama is the real deal
"Roll on" Eighteen wheeler, In pictures, Angels among us, take me down, lady down on love.
Most ppl don't know this but coming from a woman married to a truck driver , most truck driver work 70 hrs God bless truckers right now it's crazy because ppl need to appreciate truck drivers more than what they do before this Corona virus I need to appreciate them more than what they used to, stop cut them off and acting like it's all their fault when a passenger car is at fault
They have some good tunes. One of my favorites is Lady down on love
Alabama "If you're gonna play in Texas"
You gotta have a fiddle in the band.
You're right.... certainly has a special meaning today. Thanks for reacting, Billy. Be well and take care. Peace.
