    Such a pleasure seeing Stefanos so erudite and both factual while remaining humble. I remember too well the mockery that was levelled at him during the first 4 or so years as he was beginning his climb. Both from fellow players as well as "prominent commentators" on Twitter and elsewhere. Mocked for his physical training style, for his expressiveness and jeered for 'plagiarizing' certain sayings, while all the time being loyal to his family & background. I could name names but..... ! Stef has retained his individuality despite partnering Badosa (yes my deliberate choice of words). I hope his comeback is sustained without further injuries and he is successful in either /or/both Olympic and Slam venues in the coming years.

      More time on clay

    • @MichaelHillGr
      @MichaelHillGr Месяц назад +8

      Clay courts slow the ball down more than other surfaces. Because Stef has a big wind-up on his BH, that little bit of extra time allows him to be more precise. OHBH has a small margin of error, if you don't hit it right it goes off. His back hand is not terrible on hard courts either, it's just that top players are able to exploit it better. Hope that helps.

      Stefanos has been very consistent on clay. And towards the end, he was playing very well against Sinner. Sinner's level was dipping. If the right call was made, it doesn't guarantee Sinner's win and would've probably been 5-5. Yes, it's true he could've lost if the call was correct, but there's also no guarantee. You also seem to conveniently not mention that a point was unfairly awarded to Sinner also.
