Dr Ekberg, please do a video linked to this one explaining the randle cycle for your viewers. the randle cycle known since the 1960s is the reason and how the body reacts to carbs and fat simultaneously. in essence, never eat carbs and fat together as it will activate the randle cycle in the body which will make you fat and insulin resistant Long term. everyone should know about the randle cycle and how to eat correctly. the human body needs ZERO exogenous carbohydrates in our diets. we produce enough needed for our brains on demand. low carb high fat is the way to eat. low fat high carb will slowly kill you over time. thanks
I used to eat 6 eggs and half a pound of bacon every day for 4 years when I was a miner. Ever since I eat 4 eggs every day and 1/4 pound of bacon at least once a week. I am 76 in perfect health, have not even. had a cold in 50 years.
I had to ditch eggs. Very bad leg pain. Gone since no eggs. Careful what u say because of it doesn't apply to everyone. Eggs are very bad for some people. VERY bad.i lost weight ever since I stopped eggs.
@@SuperLuckao that is interesting glad you're leg is better, I can't remember when I last had a egg. I wouldn't have thought too many eggs were good for you anyway , you are right what you said.
After decades of believing bacon was a heart attack on a plate I went low carb. I eat bacon every day along with eggs for the past 10 months. My weight is down 60 pounds. A1C 5.7 to 5.2. Triglycerides 149 to 92. Love eating bacon, it’s delicious and satisfying.
@@resa.walters Thank you. Well, I was on a high fat, low carb diet for several years then this happened. Did it cause it.??? My Cardiologist tells me it did. I guess take that with a grain of salt.
I went on an conivore diet, only eating grass fed 87% hamburger and organic eggs while only eating once a day and I lost 25 pounds in less than 30 days. No sugar, no carbs.
What an eye opener! Just how do you happen to know this is simply amazing. After all those years of avoiding bacon like a plague. The switch to full cream butter instead of margarine, coconut oil instead of vegetable oil, return to eggs without worry, etc I have already improved my health immensely. Watching your videos has been a blessing. Thank you so much.
well .. isn't coconut oil a vegetable/plant oil? 🤔 I know it's a good switch... since coconut is the best plant oil there is ... maybe on par with EVOO.. 👍💪
They are serious. I had a lung infection and bad cough for over a year. Antibiotics did nothing. I began eating almost a pound of bacon a day with usually one or two eggs everyday or two. I have immense energy, did not put on an ounce of fat, went straight to my perfect weight and I feel great. It is supposed to heal your thyroid and your brain both. I have never felt better!@@JesusSaves23k
I'm 66 and eat on average 2 lbs of bacon a week, along with eggs. I also retired 2 years ago, and my bloodwork has amazed my doctor! Bacon is a superfood! Lol
My brother in-law went on the all bacon diet, and his doctor was blown away at how great all his labs were. Everything was very good on his chart. His doctor told him to keep doing it.
You are seriously playing with people's heads. That's hilarious! Bacon is a carcinogenic disaster! Toxins are stored in the fat of animals so that diet is a precursor to every cancer known to man, and it's also high in uric acid which would be a great diet for someone who wants arthritic bone degeneration. Good luck with that diet. 🙄
I’ve been fixing my husband 3-4 slices of thick bacon and 2-3 large eggs for breakfast every morning for 15 years (depending on his workout). He’s not overweight and his cholesterol is good as is his BP.
My father was born in 1928. When they were in their early seventies, my parents moved to a retirement center with 3 buffet meals a day. Dad didn’t have exotic food tastes. He ordered every morning a cheese omelette and bacon. He also liked having papaya (this was in Hawaii) each day. He also loved avocado. But he had bacon most every morning for the last 20 years of his life, and he made it to 89.5. 🤍my favorite person🤍 Thank you for this. I have been craving bacon for months and finally had 6 pieces for brunch yesterday. It felt like a crime. I was happy to learn more from this video. Thank you so much for all of your extremely insightful, helpful lectures. Your videos are still the most helpful I have found on eating for a healthier life.
Dr. E I switched to a healthier 🥓 and organic 🥚 🥚. They taste so good. Eating healthier today has been a journey im so glad I started. Thx for explaining the importance of food and how it helps the body.
Hej Sten, I discovered you a little more than 2yrs ago and have already tried "bacon for 30 days". The gyms and fitness facilities were all closed due to the pandemic and I still managed to drop 30lbs, just on changing my nutrition habits based on your educational videos. Lost even more weight when I started to exercise regularly, nomore, "angry hunger" episodes, fat adapted. Believe I have reached homeostasis and wish to" tack så mycket min bror" for showing me the way. Skål from Canada.
Already there Potts, thank you for the great advice. I believe IF is the key and the information you post on RUclips is very helpful, thanks again. Cheers!
I was lucky enough to find this nice sugar and curing salt-free bacon in my super market. I started keto last year in May, and the bacon was a very important part to make it work for me. I fry a couple of stripes in my iron cast pan every morning, then I fry 3 eggs on the rendered fat. I add some vegetables and I get the perfect breakfast. I went from 36% to 20% body fat in 6 months, I started doing weightlifting and I have increased my muscle mass while keeping my fat % steady at 20%. thanks bacon 🔥🥓🔥
How he showed the bacon vs salad diagram really made it simple to understand. I liked the formula he showed, bacon and fats can be a great source as long as insulin spiking food isn't added with it.
Thank you Dr S. The world needs this channel. I hope you take a muti video deep dive into the Hyper Carnivore world. Keeping these videos under 15 minutes [like this one] helps get the word out.
Thank you for the content DR. and for changing my life! Went from 198 lbs. to 143 lbs just by following your advice..and by the way I’m really short 5’,3” so 198 lbs is a lot..
I always like your content Dr Ekberg. Before I write my novel-long story related to sugar and fat, I want to thank you because you help a lot understanding all this a bit better, so I can help others being able myself to explain how all this works, blood glucose, insuline resitance, metabolic syndrone(all stuff I suffered without relly being conscious outside the fact doctors tried to make me take pressure pills, which I refused before changing my life habits for good and this is the key, NEW HABITS, FOR LIFE) My parents at 75 keeps thinking saturated fat is bad. But they breakfast everyday with bread and margarine and they're sure it's the most healthy way of living.. You said it, it's been an induced belived for generations, so much that I've been addicted to apple juice(back in the days it was still big cans and I could drank 1 or 2 per day) at age of 3-4 years old. Crazy thing if you ask me, they thought they were doing good as it was suggested, sugar, margarine and poly-insaturated fat everywhere(at leats there was a good amount of saturated fat too. Guess what, I've been overweighted for more than 30 years, until a cut carbs of my habits. It wasn't the lack of workout or too much fat, but way too much sugar. But at 75, they just listen to what FDA(or such) suggest and they take what family doctor says as absolute truth and they get a lot of their information from cable tv and new channels. Parents aren't together anymore, so I couldn't influence positively my father with his fear of saturated fat(but there no butter in the house, except for me when I visit them), but he diminished so much the amout of sugar and just that is a huge milestone as he always been a sugar bug but very very active at the same time, which helps having a great heart. Finally, as for my mom, I was able to have a bigger impact to have her cutting canola and other omega-6, diminishing sugar and desserts and even getting her understanding how blood glucose works.(she has a grandson with diabete type 1 who his heatlh has been inpacted so much a 22, because he failed to take care of his insulin and diet for too long that now he has incontinence issues and even vision issues.) Fortunately outside of that sugury part of the diet when I was young, my mom has been at home full time until I was 15(divorce), so we never went to fastfood before and she always cooked healthy food and despite the juice load with carbs, she never bought sodas. Most of the sugar was not coming from her food, but we were adding it form nutella, sugary cereal etc etc etc,a although there was potatos at very meal.
Great post Joe. I often get as much inspiration from reading viewers' experiences as I do from watching the videos. So, thanks for taking the time to put it up. I have learned so much from Dr. Ekberg. One of the real positives of RUclips even though I spend far too much time on it. Good luck in everything you do.
Check out Thomas DeLauer talk about how potatoes can have a much lesser glucose spike depending on how they are prepared, for example microwaved is best, chilled afterwards is even better. To mitigate insulin response, eat AFTER protein, fat &/or fiber, or even just loaded up with protein & fat heavy toppings. I am doing mostly carnivore right now, but I still add about a quarter of a loaded potato a couple times a week for variety (as well as the added benefit of carb cycling). Every body has different needs, so YMMV; try to discover what works best for YOU.
Bacon is one of those foods that I don’t think you can ever grow tired of. Forget 30 days…give me bacon everyday for the rest of my life! 😄 Appreciate you Dr. Ekberg.
I love side pork/ pork belly. It's the bacon cut without the curing, nitrates etc. I use it often in my stir fry and lettuce wraps 😋. Delicious! P.s....I also love bacon😁 Thank you for all you do 🙏😊
Don't worry about nitrates in meat. Celery has more nitrates than bacon. According to BBC europeans get 80% of their nitrates from vegetables and 5% from meat.
I am extremely sensitive to sugar and refined carbs have been off of it for 5 years now, Full Keto. I think this is one of the best basic explanations I have seen in a long time well done. Bacon without nitrates is my staple it is the most powerful food to control my appetite. To me, it is a superfood and I even put olive oil on it sometimes after it is cooked.
Loved the bacon + salad bit 😂 Spot on, keep up the good work! As much as I try to convince people to the LCHF lifestyle I wish they could actually 'feel' what it's like, and how good they'd feel, as I'm certain they'd then not only maintain that lifestyle but also be trying to convince others to it too!
I went carnivore back in December and ate lots of raw, fatty, bacon to get as much fat as possible. Just thought I'd let you know that I was able to easily remember my dreams after about 2 weeks where as before I was eating lots of carbs and couldn't remember any dreams. This is important for those of us that are working with a spiritual teacher who can take us on Soul Travel journeys out of the body. Lots of insights into life can come from dreams so remembering them is handy. I'm able to get a far better rest when sleeping also. It feels like a very deep and healing type of sleep. I'm even dreaming and remembering them between 10 minute hits of the snooze button. I guess the saturated fat in bacon really helps the brain. I'm able to buy sugar free bacon from a local butcher. I wake up a lot earlier in the morning feeling fully refreshed and ready to go. So lots of improvements from a high fat carnivore diet although I still have nerve problems in the hands. I'm a 64 yo guy. Thanks so much for your ongoing excellent explanations of health.
This may be a bit premature, but I have been a vegetarian for 5+ years but recently made the hard choice to start incorporating bacon into my Keto diet, which I have been on now for about 5 weeks, due to having episodes of severe low blood sugar crashes - although I noticed Keto (before I introduced bacon) was helping me not have the sugar crashes, I was still having bouts of low blood sugar symptoms (anxiety, foggy, disoriented/confusion/not able to think properly and 0 mental/physical energy) between meals and sometimes after a meal... That being said, tonight was my 5th meal including bacon and I have noticed feeling gradual improvements with each meal that I have bacon. I started noticing since this morning's meal that I actually have steadier energy levels between my two meals for the first time and I feel I have mental/physical energy that continues even after I eat that I haven't experienced in maybe a year or more - I had forgotten what it was like to feel I have energy for years now... Only just now realizing the difference. I feel more me for the first time in maybe years (just hadn't noticed because I was so used to it). So I have NO idea why this is occurring for me (I know meat provides essential nutrients many vegetarians/vegans have to find another way to get) but I feel so relieved that the bacon not only seems to be giving me more energy, it seems to be keeping my blood sugars balanced. Read about it, not sure how. Just so grateful. I feel like I am getting my life back, as crazy as that may sound. Although I am still adjusting to doing something that is against my morals in regard to the well-being of animals, I learned that sometimes for your health, you may have to make these choices against your morals... I thank the beautiful animal for how he/she is helping me heal and better my health.
No one, and I mean no one should be having 5 meals a day. You're constantly spiking your blood sugar and having an insulin response every time you eat. Not good for your body or longevity.
@@martykirby7311 I completely agree with you! - I should have been more specific - I meant that night was my 5th meal in 3 days; 2 meals a day. I sometimes had to do 3 meals a day to keep my low blood sugar up, but now down to two 😊
9 years clean, whole food plant based OMAD 20-22IF until I did a 180°from one day's meal to the next day's meal. Holy Crappola! Had not an inking of what this would do. I twas a WOWZA. I knew while I was eating that first carnivore meal something big & life changing had happendd. I went from vegan to not vegan by the time I had eaten a pound patty of organic grass fed beef. I HAVE TO NOW MAKE MYSELF EAT PLANTS.
I am a living proof of your point, Dr. Ekberg. With very few exceptions, I have 2 slices of bacon, 2 fried eggs and sallad every lunch since at least 10 years. I drink a tall glass of water with a Tsp each of ACV and pure lemon juice to it , with a few drops of fluid stevia added. I am 80 y o now, and I feel great. To my own surprise I still look forward to that lunch every day (no breakfast). I started eating this food the day I learned not to be scared of saturated fat but embrace the LCHF life style. My knee artrosis disappeared almost completely, my blood pressure dropped to normal without pills, and I got rid of my stubborn warts. No way I'll stop eating my bacon and eggs if I am not forced to for some reason.
I love this guy. He gives people hope and leaves out the guilt trip. Rational. Non-judgmental. Seems like he really cares about helping people to understand how they can change their lives.
Amazing video! I just searched "how unhealthy is bacon?" while I was eating eggs and bacon as breakfast and your video went way beyond the simple answer to that question, because there is no simple answer as I have just learned. Thank you for this amazing video in the morning. You are already on my subscription list!
The problem with bacon is growing on chemicals fast hence its so cheap. And all toxins that liver can't deal with stored in fat. So not too sure commercial bacon is good for health.
But Dr. Ekberg, Isn’t the pig considered a scavenger? Or “bottom feeders”? I remember my brother teaching me about crabs, how they could put ANYTHING in the water and they would eat it, because they too are scavengers. I feel like eating bacon is eating all the things a pig eats in a secondary form. I’m sorry, but I don’t know if I agree eating bacon with salad.
Before watching this, I just have to say -- I have, for the last year and a half, been eating 7-9 strips of bacon 4 or so times per week. I hope I don't croak from it! I love bacon... and eggs...
So I went to a diet that included more bacon which I was previously afraid of, along with reduced carbs and two years later got a lipids test. My cholesterols we're in line for the first time in recent decades. Statins did nothing for me but this worked.
The BBBE diet has been all the rage lately in the low carb/keto/carnivore communities. Beef/Butter/Bacon/Eggs are really nearly impossible to overeat, as they are so high in protein & fat, which are extremely satiating. Great post =)
Excellent bacon cooking tip: place bacon strips on cookingpaper (?) and sprinkle grated cheese on top of the bacon and cook in the oven att 200c/400f for 10-13 minutes - super yummy :-)
My diet in september 2019 was greek jogurt with lots of coconut rasps, 100-200g smoked bacon or deep fried meat or mozzarella, dark chocolate and steak with beer for dinner. did this for about 45 days. I lost some weight, had good energy and was super productive. And i still think it saved my life to do this right before a big surgery. I upped my ketones with that and was fasting when i woke up for a few days.
I think this guy gets it. Great video. it’s really about the big picture as well. There’s so many foods offered to us that just go together and nobody thinks about. I changed how I do things. There’s a lot of stuff you don’t need to eat. Think society consumes way more sugars and carbs in drinks than they realize too. That’s the hidden stuff that’s so easy to pile up. And nobody’s getting a shortage of fat in their diets. Love the messaging here. Many foods are assumed to be bad just because.
Sir, thank you this is the best explanation I ever heard revealing the root cause behind obesity and why a lot of diet plans eventually stall to a plateau. I have been following this rule for a while in order to get leaner because I observed it works for some reason: Increasing the fat while decreasing carbs or the opposite, but now you have explained the mechanism and why it works.
Thank you Jay. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. I spend so much time on it because when we get "the why" and the mechanism we become empowered for life . Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile. 😄
Thoroughly enjoy your content, it has done wonders for me post cancer. Are you able to do a video on late on-set Type 1 diabetes and the benefits of low carb and IF? Also if there are any additional dangers of inflammation causing, for example, arthritis.
Am so glad you go on to discuss the'big picture'. My husband would read the title and just go for the bacon. He has worked up to 6 stints in his heart and 2in his leg. In past he ate a tray of fat the cooks had cut off pork. For a while he cut back on fat. He was very active until back and knee injuries stopped his running. He is a bread-aholic and never had 'A' piece of candy ( more like a fist full). So glad you point out it's the combo.
Thank you Dr. I've lost 38 lbs over the last few months and have about 40 more to lose to reach my goal. I eat a good quality bacon maybe every other day and maybe a one egg cheese omelet but was concerned if it was bad for my arteries. I've really laid off the carbs. Does Canadian bacon offer similar results?
I don’t know if it’s healthy or not but the breakfast that gives me lasting energy right through to super, skipping lunch is a cup of coffee with cream and a half dozen strips of bacon. It’s also a delicious combination.
I've been doing the BBB&E diet (Beef, Butter, Bacon & Eggs) for the past 3 weeks, and my energy has shot through the roof. In fact, I woke up early and jumped on my rowing machine and did a 10k session, which is the first time it's been possible for me to do since 2017! More importantly, my blood sugars are under control. The most obvious side effect is that I don't have to run to the bathroom every couple of hours. I thought it was due to the diuretic I'm on, but turns out it was just because I was trying to flush out all the sugar from my blood stream. That sugar was also what was making me so lethargic I could barely do one kilometer on my rowing machine. Now I'm alert, sleeping soundly, and looking forward to my labs next month (instead of dreading it) when I get my next checkup.
Makes a lot of sense. We can think about our farmers ,of our past who worked in the fields, came in for breakfast which usually consisted of eggs and bacon and who was healthy and trim.
Animal health: A super important aspect of meat quality is how well and healthy the animal has been husbandried and fed. A pig that has been fed in dark stables with grains, Omega6-overloaded-soy and antibiotics for sure is very unhealthy and inflammatory for us humans. But a gras-fed beef from a pasture or pig that was fed with a rich sources of real nutritions - for sure is healthy and nutritious for us.
I absolutely think you should source quality meat if you can afford it but even you ate grain fed pork its FAR better for you than eating grains or plants.
Dr Ekberg ,thank you for everything you do What would you advise for people with gallbladder removed? How would keto diet apply for those people for example? Maybe your next video content? 😃
Is it healthy to eat brown whole grain bread with beacon because i love a bscon sandwich...please let me know because i know white bread raises insulin
With the current price of bacon in Canada, I don’t know how anyone could afford such a treat every day…also one must consider the difference in quality and sustenance in all the bacon products that are offered
Dr Ekberg, I would love you do a video comparing breads. Are breads from sprouted grain better? How does bread from bleached white flour with added 'ingredients' compare to, say stone ground whole wheat bread, made only with water, salt, yeast and a little oil? I just know that if I try eating white flour bread my body is not happy, I feel bloated, brain foggy and tired. But when I make my limited ingredients whole grain bread or purchase sprouted grain bread, I know the difference; I feel satisfied and have no noticeable side effects. But is there a large chemical difference? I'm sure you know and would love to hear about it.
Most people don’t seem to know that US farmers spray cancer causing RoundUp on their wheat field before harvest for even ripeness and maximize profits.
Vegetable oil (which is margarines base) actually used to be a waste product cause it's toxic to humans but now that they can sell it and get rid of it easily is why it's even a thing
DR. Ekberg , i love your fantastic , so informative and so educational videos .you are amazing , thank you so much for all that you do to help us ,to better our lives .you are ,like i said before, A GOD SENT ANGEL on earth for us.GOD BLESS YOU . 👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah! For Nitrate free Bacon! Dr. Ekberg is my Hero! I’m finally fasting until 1 or 2 o’clock to get my AIC down and enjoying keeping busy in the morning. The doctors are still being taught to fear Saturated Fat. My very young female doctor, worried about Cholesterol wants me to lessen my Costco Grass Fed burgers. Not happening.
Im on a no sugar/low carbs diet, and I have started having some liver regularly for the nutritional benefits. I have some onion and a slice of bacon with the liver and it makes it much more palatable for me personally. I have been slowly getting over my ingrained fear of fats and the Doc certainly helps with this.
Dear Sten Ekberg, I don’t understand about the nitrates? I understand the fat is good but what about the nitrates? I just saw you can get celery cured bacon that doesn’t have the bad nitrates but I don’t think you talked about that? Please in lighten me, absolutely love your channel, your knowledge has transformed me 100%
I unfortunately grew up during the age of "low fat" diets. So did my family. Everyone became obese, pre-diabetic and eventually full on diabetic - the harder we tried to cut fat, the fatter we got. It made no sense and it took so much trial and error to find out that cutting down on carbs/sugars was the best thing. Vitamin B supplements is a good ally.
I like your delivery, Its direct and makes sense. I've been eating low carb for a year and feel great. I'm curious about alcohol, if I have 1.5-2.5 oz. of scotch after work, what is that doing to my body, liver, everything?
The egg cholesterol myth is one of the greatest myths out there. Firstly, eggs are the greatest super-food out there. Secondly, dietary cholesterol has no bad benefit for your health. By watching Dr. Ekberg's videos, you can destroy many of your wrong health beliefs.
Dr Ekberg. I avoid bacon because of the poly-unsaturated fat (PUFA), not the saturated fat. Pigs are fed seeds and build up excessive PUFAs, which break down to aldehydes, oxidize, gum up metabolism, cause insulin resistance, increase hunger, and result in weight gain in carnivores (like me). Same reason I completely avoid seed oils. Ideal PUFAs are 2%. Bacon is in the teens, higher than olive oil.
I did a 30 day carnivore, bacon and eggs every morning, rib eye the rest of the day. I lost my taste and craving for sugar, lost weight. I still eat bacon now even though I’m back to a more balanced diet ( now very low carb and high fat), I feel a lot better and my weight is under control, and no more sugar cravings
Most days I have a breakfast omelet between 2 and 4 PM, 3 eggs, 4 to 5 oz. of meat. Couple of favorites are, 2 oz. bacon and 4 oz. of chicken or turkey breast cooked in the grease, 1 oz. of cheese, green onion on top. Some days I'll use ground beef, pulled pork, can of tuna, even had a can of sardines and bacon just yesterday.
Happy to see this video! Bacon, eggs, veggies. (I can't say 'salad', because that automatically forces thoughts of salad dressing with artificially savory ingredients).
Hi Dr Sten, I am really enjoying your videos, and have started intermittent fasting. I'm 56, and I'm seeing on some other channels specific guidance on little changes that should be made to length of fast and diet for over 50's, and would really appreciate a video from you on that...if you think that any adjustments should be made.
Half a lb of Bacon, 4-5 eggs and potatoes are my staple first meal of the day usually around 1-2pm then 10-12 oz steak, 3-4 eggs alongside white Basmati rice around 8pm, drinking water or soda water throughout the day, sometimes I just cram everything at 8pm if I'm not hungry in the afternoon.
Thank you for these videos, they are really eye opening, and after watching 3-4 I feel like I'm really finally understanding how these different components work together. Over the last few decades I've seen(and ignored) so many diets because they were just instructions with no real explanation. But with this information I feel like I can make permanent eating habit changes that just make sense. It's far easier to make these changes when you understand the point of it.
Dear.Dr. Sten Ekberg Hello, I love hearing the videos with the detailed tips and explanations but 4 months ago the Hebrew translation stopped and since I can not understand your professional explanation, I would appreciate it if you could return the Hebrew translation, and again thank you for the important information.
The issue of nitrates is a fallacy also. The USDA limits the amount of nitrates that can be added to cured meats. Very small amounts. Green leafy vegetables have much more nitrites/nitrates than any realistic amount of bacon one would eat.
@@Latoree33 I eat AT LEAST a whole pack of bacon 4-5 times per week. I’m the leanest and most muscular and strongest I’ve ever been doing carnivore past 18 months
Absolutely, also watch Dr Berry's video on bacon and nitrates. We make way more in our body than we could possibly consume because our body needs them. So true that it is a fallacy. People need to start seeing the truth.
My favorite breakfast was always 3 slices of thick sliced bacon and 4 of my own chickens' eggs. Fried over medium or in an omelette with Swiss chard or poblanos and cheese. No toast, no pancakes, no flour foods at all. Just black coffee. I still do this but not until noon or later and cut back to 3 eggs and 2 slices.
The sugar is in the process of making bacon is negligent. There are more nitrates in celery. Bacon in any way is way better than any carb Eating a carnivore diet has saved my life
I buy and eat uncured bacon and I don't get as much pain like after eating processed food. It's so sweet and tasty I put that ish in everything and use the grease to saute my tons of veggies.
From what I've learned from Dr. Sten here, and Shawn Baker and Ken berry and many others, I'm fairly sure I could live a healthy life eating only bacon & eggs and drinking mineral water each and every day for the rest of my life. One or two meals a day, and a few days of autophagy once in awhile. No fruit, no veggies no nuts and (especially) no grains. 💪💖
I've eaten only brisket every day for 7 years. I am 38, look 20 and I laugh at most of the people around me. I live in Indiana. Everyone drinks too much soda and eats too many carbs. I have millions years of evolution on my side. You can keep doing what you do and falling behind me. Go for it.

I don't eat sugar but my wife does. I wish I could convince her to stop.
What a load of rubbish. Bacon is full of salt and the worst kind of fat. Horrible for high blood pressure!!

But he had bacon most every morning for the last 20 years of his life, and he made it to 89.5. 🤍my favorite person🤍

Yeah not so keen on the excessive salt and nitrates they add…bacons not the problem it’s the way they process it 😮
If it’s not cured it’s not bacon it’s just fatty pork
How he showed the bacon vs salad diagram really made it simple to understand. I liked the formula he showed, bacon and fats can be a great source as long as insulin spiking food isn't added with it.

I always like your content Dr Ekberg. Before I write my novel-long story related to sugar and fat, I want to thank you because you help a lot understanding all this a bit better, so I can help others being able myself to explain how all this works, blood glucose, insuline resitance, metabolic syndrone(all stuff I suffered without relly being conscious outside the fact doctors tried to make me take pressure pills, which I refused before changing my life habits for good and this is the key, NEW HABITS, FOR LIFE)
My parents at 75 keeps thinking saturated fat is bad.
Check out Dr Ken D Berry channel on youtube, and the all carnivore diet
I enjoyed reading your "novel". Good luck to ya.

Welcome back to the Darkside. 🐺

Isn’t the pig considered a scavenger? Or “bottom feeders”? I remember my brother teaching me about crabs, how they could put ANYTHING in the water and they would eat it, because they too are scavengers. I feel like eating bacon is eating all the things a pig eats in a secondary form. I’m sorry, but I don’t know if I agree eating bacon with salad.

Same for me!! At age 63, lchf and OMAD has reversed my T2D!! Feel 20 yrs younger with 61 lbs lost in 9 months!
@@marianne1959 what's lchf
@@kathrinat9824 low carb high fat 👌
@@marianne1959 Awesome! Keep it up :D
I like your delivery, Its direct and makes sense. I've been eating low carb for a year and feel great. I'm curious about alcohol, if I have 1.5-2.5 oz. of scotch after work, what is that doing to my body, liver, everything?
isnt bacon the one thing that can tempt people back from being vegetarian?
weren't eggs the thing to avoid for years due to cholesterol?
Yes but not bacon alone, you have to eat it with the veggies.
The egg cholesterol myth is one of the greatest myths out there. Firstly, eggs are the greatest super-food out there. Secondly, dietary cholesterol has no bad benefit for your health. By watching Dr. Ekberg's videos, you can destroy many of your wrong health beliefs.
I was vegetarian then vegan then raw vegan. For some reason, I ate a piece of bacon…..it felt like a dam breaking! Am now carnivore.
I still eat bacon now even though I’m back to a more balanced diet ( now very low carb and high fat), I feel a lot better and my weight is under control, and no more sugar cravings
you're a muslim and you eat bacon? shame on you
Most days I have a breakfast omelet between 2 and 4 PM, 3 eggs, 4 to 5 oz.
Thank you for this video. I love your clear explanations.
Happy to see this video! Bacon, eggs, veggies. (I can't say 'salad', because that automatically forces thoughts of salad dressing with artificially savory ingredients).
100% enjoyment. Thank you for your advice and point of view.💪👍
Thank you bartrebe. I really appreciate your feedback. 😄
Great video Dr. Ekberg.
Just wondering what is wrong with the nitrates.
Hear! Hear!
To many carbs
I've read about no nitrates in bacon. I eat the no nitrate bacon but regardless both say it still can cause cancer.
@@Latoree33 That claim is based on very dubious cherry picked EPIDEMIOLOGICAL data.
@@keywestfan2503 thank you for the information. Every bit helps.
Bacon in any way is way better than any carb
Eating a carnivore diet has saved my life
The nitrates in celery don't become nitrosamines. I prefer fresh sauages, all of the salty/fatty goodness and none of the nitrite.
Yes! I eat 3 eggs and 5 pieces of bacon almost everyday. And I feel so much better! I gave up grains, vegetables, fruits, and nuts.
@John Vreden What ingredients are in your mineral water? Thanking you in advance. 😌
@@dkhnguess "Carbonated water and mineral salts" is all they wrote.
I've eaten only brisket every day for 7 years. I am 38, look 20 and I laugh at most of the people around me. I live in Indiana. Everyone drinks too much soda and eats too many carbs. I have millions years of evolution on my side. You can keep doing what you do and falling behind me. Go for it.
