    It’s crazy how much better this song is with Jason’s bass

      Yeah, it does give it a way fuller and heavier sound!

      I wasn't really planning on doing a cover of this one since there are great ones out there already, but if you want to, I can do it!

      Hey! Very true! Does show how much depth a bass brings to a track doesn't it! :)

      Absolutely!! Just goes to show you how badly Metallica needs bass.

    I've been revisiting this song lately... I just can't understand why Jason played it this way. I like Robert's version way better, I just wish there were tabs or an isolated bass version to hear or see all the differences

      My guess is as good as yours to the why, apart from I have the impression Jason usually had to record/play what James and Lars wanted him to play. At least Jason got to put some down-the-scale fills in, alongside the B chords.
      The tabs in my video her are 100% what Jason played since I transcribed it note for note from the separate basstrack. I'm not fully sure how Rob plays it live though! :)

    GREAT job ! Can you do the same with "kids" robbie williams kylie minogue or "Hot for teacher" Van Halen ? 🤪 🙏 😎

      Just realised I forgot to reply! Do you want the bass backing tracks of those songs or the covers? If you want the bass backing tracks, sure, that's no problem, I can do those soon!
      If you want me to cover them, I can say that another basscover channel by Samboat Music has done a great cover of Hot For Teacher: ruclips.net/video/b7KNkH0x6BE/видео.html
      When it comes to Kids, I do want to do that one but the bridge part is kicking my arse and I'm not even close to playing that song correctly, so no promise if/when I'll do that one!
      But yeah, if you just want the tabs with the backing track, that's no problem and I can upload them soon!

      Thank you for your answer !
      I love Kids and Hot For Teacher but I can't find a single "backing track" for bassist of these 2 songs. (I mean vocals + all instruments except bass)...
      If you also give us the tablatures that run during the song: it's really practical!
      These 2 songs will give me a lot (really a lot!) of work on the instrument but also a lot of fun!
      If you can also do covers on simple request (taking the time you need of course): wow, it's just the best!
      To summarize: a very simple backing track and I'm already in heaven! 😎

    No difference

    • @ytbassmonkey
      @ytbassmonkey  11 месяцев назад

      Hey! Yeah, Metallica is notorious for mixing the whole song in a way the bass is pretty far down in the mix, so removing that really doesn't make it sound that much different apart from the intro :D

      @@ytbassmonkey Also, Jason's tone is kind of muted compared with Cliff and Robert

    • @ytbassmonkey
      @ytbassmonkey  9 месяцев назад

      @@IvanAntochiwYep, he uses a scooped mid with heavy bass, where Rob has more of a grindy tone with some high end distortion usually! :)
