So I am absolutely brand new. I'm 48 years old I said I'd never ride a bike unless it was a Harley... Let me tell you that had to be the dumbest thing I've ever done in my entire life. So my girlfriend just got a 250 scooter and everything is automatic but I can't stay off the road... Why did I wait so long to get on the road. Anyway I've been going through and trying to practice like I'm supposed to be going through the gears LOL but I'm currently looking for a bike now and you got it awesome video. Very informative thank you very much
Hey, Sir.... This is an awesome set of videos! Thank you, so much for your time! I know that I sincerely appreciate them. I'm a 50 year old new rider with a Softail Slim, and this is very helpful to me. The stock HD hand controls are pretty large, and I've got above average larger hands, and it's still kind of hard to operate the controls. Anyway.... off topic. Thank you!
Thanks for the video! Its been about ten years since I first got my MC license and never had the money to buy a bike, this year I plan to get 1 but I needed something to jog my memory on how to ride, this video has definitely helped. Thanks Again! 😊
Had an electra glide for a few years, I was coming from a lot of yrs riding with a regular shifter habit and did wanted to try/adapt to the heel/toe, but just didn't worked out for me. I found unnatural and slow having to move my foot a bit back and forth everytime I wanted to hit the shifter with my toe or my heel. For me having a regular shifter means that your foot always pivot on the same heel point, going around the shifter to shift up or down is not a big deal, makes the operation faster and a no brainer in case of an emergency or when dealing in urban environment. It's possibly just the habit or the kind of roads you're used to ride the most.
My dad recently passed away and I was never allowed to touch his bike while he was alive. Well today I put it in gear in the driveway after starting it up to keep it from sitting in the garage but having never been allowed to touch his bike I had no idea how to get it back to neutral. Thanks.
Neat little series!...great work!😉👍...the new H-D's don't have the heel shifter as most customers did not want it....so now its an option! I have the 2020 UL!...stay safe...ride safe!
Looking to hopefully get a Iron 883 some day and when i do… i’m for sure getting that heal shifter. feel like it’s easier than shifting up with your foot. what do y’all think ?
What is the name of the aftermarket clutch you installed? I recently had surgery done on my hand and the catch point on my harley is just way too far. That clutch would definitely come in handy!
Bought a 07 street bob as my first bike, for whatever reason after I downshift to first to come to a stop, or if I stop in 3rd and shift down to 1st, when the light goes green and I let off the clutch to get going it sounds like the bike is bogging down even though I’m in first it seems to struggle to get going in the friction zone and I have to give it more throttle than usual. Maybe I’m doing something wrong or the clutch needs adjusting and is sticking or something idk
I am not a fan of a heal shifter.I almost put one on my bike till I rode a friends that had one.I am programed to use the toe shifter and on a long run you want as much real estate as you can get .As a new rider do whatever you like and you will get used to it.
*I've only been riding for a few weeks now. No prior experience... No prior experience with using a clutch in cars always been automatic for me. I'm having a hard time down shifting most times I try your way my timing is off obviously and it keeps jerking me and locking up the back wheel. I've gotten to the point these past few days where I'll shift up in gears(not smoothly), and when I get close to a stop sign or light I'll just hold in the clutch all the way and click the shift lever all the way down to 1st. Is that safe to do or am I going to ruin my ninja 250?*
Just bought a new 2021 road king special and can not stand the gave Harley removed the heel shifter. I have 300 miles so far on the bike and just can't seem to get use to not having it. Also finding neutral without the heel clicker is ridiculous! Dealer says trans needs to "break in" lol been on baggers and dirtbikes for over 30 years, doubt it's me or the clutch needing to be broken in
I have a 2017 Street Glide and that hydraulic clutch is hell!!. And getting it in neutral is a struggle. I perfer the cable clutch. Especially with that heel shifter. I been riding for 35yrs and still that hydraulic clutch smh.
Funny you mention this. I didn’t think there was much interest at the time but seeing as there is especially on this one, I’m gonna do an entire new series with better angles 👊🏻
I love the color of your Harley I used to have Electra glide classic and a Fatboy I lost both of my I lost my job lost my bikes I miss riding my Harley Fatboy
Hey can u post the link to where I can purchase that aftermarket clutch control?? I have a 2009 kawasaki vulcan 750 and I would like to get one for it..
True or false! Are you trying to say that some Americans pay big bucks for an expensive big and heavy motorcycle without knowing the fundamentals of how to operate or ride a motorcycle?

I was 43. Take the msf course and go from there.
Get an Enduro style bike to practice, you can drop it, pick it up and go again!
I just got my first bagger 😊

Thanks man
I am a new rider and I love the heel toe shifter it allows me to switch gears smoother once I take off.
Dude totally agree and my awesome boots stay awesome longer lol
Thanks , new rider here this is excactly what I needed I love the tutorial I have same set up and the heel clutch is amazing
That heel shifter and foot stand is cool.
I remember moving up from a Dyna, Sporter and soft tail to a street glide, same thing heal shifter and trying to fight with the floorboards!

You are the goat sir. This is exactly what I needed to know. That gear shift was confusing to me but you explained it perfectly. Thanks a lot
Reving motor spins gears makes shift to neutral easier.
Looking to hopefully get a Iron 883 some day and when i do… i’m for sure getting that heal shifter. feel like it’s easier than shifting up with your foot. what do y’all think ?
I’m 19 been riding since the 4th of July of 2022 my school coach gave me his 1000 pound bike to ride at a parking lot it was amazing I’ll never forget
Cable clutch is the best thing for Harley Touring 2021 models.
Agreed
I own a roadster sportster 2017 and neutral is really tricky to get :(
What is the name of the aftermarket clutch you installed?
I recently had surgery done on my hand and the catch point on my harley is just way too far. That clutch would definitely come in handy!
Great video! What is the brand of the adjustable clutch lever? Thanks.
Glad to know I'm not crazy preferring tapping down to neutral. 07 Night Train can definitely be pissy getting into neutral. Lol

What clutch lever did you go to? I had carpal tunnel surgery and would like to bring the friction zone closer to the grip. Thanks.
Hogleverage
What model HD is that I like your fairing setup

Thanks for this vid!
Great video!! # carpal tunnel # sciatica # 💀dead legs
they sell easypull 1 to 2 finger clutch and brk levers
Nice looking bike 🏍️
What levers are those ?
You are a star
I'm having a really hard time finding neutral on my new Heritage.
Sick bike!
Thanks brother
Which one is the next video after this one?

Just go find a tutorial on "how to do revmatching"
That’s what I’m doing on my big ass ultra glide Harley bagger
Just dropped it way to heavy lol
Really great tips, bike is beautiful. No heal shifter on new bikes, WTF
I know I really like it too
Heel shifter was always the first thing I removed on my Harley when I bought a new one. I glad my 2020 Road Glide didn’t come with one.
Thanks so much
Thanks for the video
Heel shifter keeps your boots looking better..front of boot doesnt have an indention and or scuff marks
Thanks for these. Appreciate it.
After using and ridingwith the heel toe shifter for years I will never be without one again
Did you do that without pulling in the clutch?
Just bought a new 2021 road king special and can not stand the gave Harley removed the heel shifter. I have 300 miles so far on the bike and just can't seem to get use to not having it. Also finding neutral without the heel clicker is ridiculous! Can I go into 1st regularly, then just use heel for 2nd and so on?
Yes, don’t even need to use the heel shifter if you don’t want too
will a harley start in gear with the clutch pulled in?
yes
Do you always put the bike in neutral before you start the bike or can you have it in first gear with clutch in and start?
I always do it out of habit anyways but yeah you can start it with the clutch pulled in
Great video for newbies
Whixh bike is that?
Thanks for the great video...keep em coming😍
Love this
What is the name of the clutch you have
Good explanation
I’m a beginner never road a bike getting a 2011 omg Kawasaki Vulcan vaqueros….This applies for that bike too
Where is the 3rd video to this?
As a man who would love to say I know how to ride a bike... I don't. I'm new. So thank you for the basics
I have a 2017 Street Glide and that hydraulic clutch is hell!!. And getting it in neutral is a struggle. I perfer the cable clutch. Especially with that heel shifter. I been riding for 35yrs and still that hydraulic clutch smh.
came over here from your gun channel
If you time it right, you can shift without using the clutch
How tall are you?
Pearls of Wisdom, or just common sense, but the basics must be practiced for desired results!!! Nice delivery with the content!!!
Keep up the good content 👍🏿
What happened to the rest of the series?
Funny you mention this. I didn’t think there was much interest at the time but seeing as there is especially on this one, I’m gonna do an entire new series with better angles 👊🏻
@@HegshotRides Thank you man!
I love the color of your Harley I used to have Electra glide classic and a Fatboy I lost both of my I lost my job lost my bikes I miss riding my Harley Fatboy
Wow that bike is super Quiet
Hey can u post the link to where I can purchase that aftermarket clutch control?? I have a 2009 kawasaki vulcan 750 and I would like to get one for it..
I wonder if its to heavy for me 😂
Series dead?
Never been a fan of the heel shifter even though my bike has one
most purists hate the heel shifter. i LOVE it
I'm the exact opposite. I clean my bike more than I ride it, however, your bike looks way cleaner than mines, weird 🤔
Probably one of the rare occasions I actually cleaned it lol
You'd be surprised how many riders don't know about the friction zone
Great video what brand of gloves are you wearing .
Tttttt mmmmmm iiiii!!!
True or false! Are you trying to say that some Americans pay big bucks for an expensive big and heavy motorcycle without knowing the fundamentals of how to operate or ride a motorcycle?
Horrible explanation brotha
🤡
terrible video
You confused the fuck outta me with the shifter
