- So after assuming the worst, I was right and off the oil pan needed to come to fix that janky MMR pickup tube. The PBH tube is far superior and I was never so happy to see an oil leak from the motor as a result! it was a quick fix and now it's time to shake the car down!

DO NOT BUY THE MMR PICKUP!!! Literally dealing with a no oil pressure issue as I type! I was skeptical when I initially installed it, i shuld have listened to my gut!! Ordering the PBH KIT ASAP! engine only has 6k miles!!
Unbelievable right?
I really appreciate your Honesty & Transparency when it comes to Quality issues from Manufacturers and/or Vendors !!
It really saves the rest of us headaches & money💰 !
Some people say it's disrespectful to call people out, I say it's disrespectful to send out inferior parts !!
Thank you Sir 💯
Good video and excellent troubleshooting!
It was better when a paper gasket was in between the pickup tube and was bolted to the oil pump. Using a grommet I feel will be a failure point in the future since they tend to dry out and get hard over time. Good find determining the issue, we all know beer increases brain function.
There’s a few videos on how to prime the motor with a fitting that goes in place of the oil pressure sensor and then you just pump oil through with a harbor freight weed sprayer hand pump and that will pump all of the chain tensioners and valve lash guides full of oil before dry cranking
I had an Mmr gear set that was machined wildly out of spec… with 4-5x oem clearance. Bought a Boundary Gear set to compare it too and the Boundary was slightly tighter than oem spec. I emailed mmr and they refused to tell me what spec the gear should have been. Boundary also came with a blue print sheet that showed the same spec I measured myself.
You mentioned threadlocker do you use the primer for it?
Was the MMR pickup missing the front support bracket by accident?
Accident? Lol
I just tore apart a blown mmr 4v 4.75 stroker out of a 97 cobra this week, I had a feeling it was bad head gaskets upon removal from car, upon disassembly I found this motor couldn't have had more than 50 miles on it and all head bolts were torqued to maybe 30 ft lbs max. I don't have much experience with mmr, but after seeing that and what you're dealing with here, I don't think I'll ever buy anything from them and more than likely steer all customers of mine away from them.
Can't wait to get mine done later in the year
It needed more girth 😂
