- After Anwar Ibrahim took office as the prime minister, the MACC began an investigation into corporate figures Daim Zainuddin and Halim Saad. In December last year, the agency also seized Menara Ilham, belonging to the Daim's family.
Why is Anwar 'hunting' Daim? Was there a controversial business transaction involving the former finance minister? Why is Daim considered a confidant of Dr. Mahathir Mohamad? And why did the MACC take such significant action to investigate Daim after more than 20 years since he left the government?
In this report, KiniTV revisits some key events and questions surrounding MACC's investigation into Malaysia's most controversial Finance Minister.

Zahid's case is low priority because we need a stable government to continue to clean up the system. The important thing is his case is going through the legal process. We should never allow the past corrupted elites to disrupt the investigations on their past corruption cases.

From what can be discerned, this compensation was paid when Tun Mahathir was the prime minister and Tun Daim was the finance minister. They owe us a duty to explain what happened to this whooping sum of RM207 billion.
This payment did not go into the Treasury, where did it go? Was this money hijacked quietly and stored away in some foreign land?
Both Mahathir and Daim owe us an explanation!

Once the case against Daim is established, the indictment of Mahathir (and ill-gotten family assets, if any) would likely have to be effected post-humously. This is a old, complicated case. Many big shots both in government/civil service and Opposition were involved. Investigations will continue but the priority are those elites like Daim and Mahathir who still have plenty of money to destabilize the UG because they do not wish to face justice.
