😀🌸Hi Josiane :) yes, this is one of my older videos ... you went back to where I first started with my youtube channel :) thank you so much for your support💕
Hi Jacqui :) Thank you! When you start painting with watercolors you may want to reset your "artist mind" because watercolors are much different, so try to forget how you paint with acrylics and pretend like you are learning to paint from scratch :) This way your mind will be more open as a new student. I am only saying this because when I started painting with pastels I was getting frustrated because my mind was so set on watercolors that nothing was coming out right. So I had to reset my mind like I'm a beginner instead of being disappointed right away. Best is to follow tutorials and paint along first :) This way you get the feel of watercolors.
Hi Maria love yr vibrancy and tonal values. Please can u tell me the make of yr paper as it's very robust! Great painting. I use Chinese watercolours as I love their intensity. Thanks.
Hi 😋 Thank you so much for your comment. I don't really disclose name brands on my channel but if you would like, please email me directly at maria@loveoriginals.com and I will be happy to give you all the info, Thank you.
Do you stretch your paper beforehand? I didn't see any buckling, regardless of the amount of water/paint you layered on, nor is it taped to the surface below. Beautiful painting. Gorgeous colors!
Hi 🤗I don't stretch my paper. In this video I used Fabriano Artistico 5X7 watercolor block. But I normally just lay my watercolor paper on a glass and that keeps my paper in place without any problems 🤗Thank you so much!!
Hi Kathy, I painted this on Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper, a quality of your paper plays a huge role in your painting creation. I always recommend to paint only on high quality professional watercolor papers like Arches. I love this paper and never had any issues 💕
Hi, if you put in google search my name Maria Raczynska it should bring my Channel up. Also here's the link ruclips.net/user/mariamorjane then if you want to go directly to this painting you put this link ruclips.net/video/sZ-s29Anrjk/видео.html
With due respect to your style, I am not able to understand why you apply the colour, then dab it with tissue and reapply the colour. Why put in so much repeated effort? The sky took so much more time and effort. Request you to explain your technique. I ask to understand. I was an oil and acrylic painter and have just begun to learn Watercoloring. your finished painting is magnificent.
Hi Ashwin, thank you. When I was painting this piece I didn't have any sky for reference, it came out of my imagination, so I was letting my hands to create whatever looked best for my eyes. Also I paint with layers, my style is a little bit different than typical watered watercolor painting. I like my paintings to be rich in colors. So when you see me wiping then adding more colors, even I wiped it with a tissue there's still some paint left and that's a layer. Typically in watercolor you would just leave the first layer, and for the most part I don't, I keep playing with it until I like it. If I was painting a copy of my painting then I would know the entire pricedure, but as each painting is my only one, and the skies are most playable ones, I can't always explain you why I used a tissue, I just didn't feel the layer was good enough so I wanted to have another color before I add the last layer. I could cut my videos so you would never see me adding layers/removing paint with tissues but I don't think that would be fair for my viewers. It's almost like.... at the beginning of my videos you see the finished painting then the entire process... which is like "this is how I got here..." Also my style is different because instead of white I use white gouache. I absolutely dislike Chinese white watercolor and I started replacing it with white gouache which basically is a watercolor but opaque, not transparent. I hope this explains a bit. Thank you for watching.
Maria Raczynska thank you for the detailed response. I am beginning to understand and experiment myself with Watercolours and your step by step video which shows the complete process is a great help. I am in the stage where I am unlearning the oil/acrylic technique and trying the Watercolours. Will watch your videos. keep them coming.
Thank you Ashwin, glad I can help. It must be very different for you to go from oil to watercolor. I haven't tried oil yet but for sure I will someday. I have videos where I paint in a more traditional watercolor way, but then most is created in my style with layers and white gouache, which is an opaque watercolor. It helps me to create clouds or add light.
Beautiful! I love the music that you play also. So peaceful.

Another amazing sky. What size paper do you generally use? I guess the smaller the paper the easier to control the blending.
thank you Marilyn, I appreciate that. My paper is average size, sometimes 9X12, 10X14, 11X14, 12X16, or 16X20
Hi, this is so beautiful ❤️ just wondering if you worked from a reference photo or whether you just imagine it up?
Hi Abby🌸☺️back then I was mostly painting from imagination but I would use a reference photo for the pier for example☀️Thank you!

Hi Kathy, I painted this on Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper, a quality of your paper plays a huge role in your painting creation. I always recommend to paint only on high quality professional watercolor papers like Arches. I love this paper and never had any issues 💕
please can you put the sound of waves of leaves rustling for the music of one of your videos?
Hi, I don't really have music like this, it has to be royalty free creative commons license to be freely posted on youtube... thank you
