- In this video, I talk to you about a GoPro Hero 8 that won't turn on. If your action camera won't power on then you are probably in a bit of trouble with regards to you not being able to use it. There are many things that you can put off for a later date, but if your camera won't turn on then you can't use it so you should probably fix it as soon as you can. Luckily for you, I go over a few steps that will hopefully help you get your GoPro Hero 8 camera working again so that you can use it normally again. One of these is likely to work so I suggest that you try them all until you are able to get your camera working again.

I have 2 fully chrged batteries and the usb charging cable. My 8 will absolutley not turn on no matter what. It was used ONE time, never dropped or mishandled, never in water, it just quit working. Thanks, GoPro.

@@clarizmaillet2761 No. GoPro c/s said it was definitely an issue with the camera, but since I was a month past warranty, too bad.
It's a $300+ (500+ if you included the accessories I bought with it) useless brick.
@@MeatballCereal Me too. 2 years old, have taken good care of it. I’ve spent about $700 on camera and accessories, now a useless brick that won’t turn on. Never buy a GoPro again. Thanks GoPro.
Same issue as you people. Gently used. A few months past warranty. It’s not even the first GoPro that has died on me like this. Great pictures/video but as unreliable as any piece of technology I have owned in last decade

There must zillions of us with this issue and GoPro should offer free replacment of this product to all experiencing this trouble. My next purchase will be competitive product. Good Bye GoPro.
No issues with my 7. Bought an 8 last May used it 3 times, never been wet, never been dropped. Won’t even turn on anymore.

Using gopro 8 black for last 2 years. I hardly used it for few days in 2 years. Never used in water or never dropped it anywhere. All of a sudden it stopped powering on. I have tried all but no works. Sometime it turn on and sometimes it does not.
2nd time used and wont charge or power on there is kno red light wen pluged in to wall charging

@Product Rating Review i contacted gopro support , they told me it’s because it was stuck on something (forgot what it’s called) so they told me i needed to update it but the update wasn’t working so since my gopro was still under warranty they had me ship it back and they sent me a new one

I had GoPro 5. Suddenly touch screen stopped working. Then I bought 8 black. Now it turned off. Turns on only with C type charger, says no battery, once you unplug turns off. Tried 3 batteries no luck 😬
i used my hero8 like 5 times. One day it just decided it wanted to die. Thanks gopro. POS.
In my case, the front led was on only and didn't power on BUT come back to life again! Out the battery, out the memory card, connect an USB charger, hold the button 10-15sec and voila it turns on.
Sometimes these tips work, but I suspect mostly not for many as eventually the devices will fail completely. My (replacement) Hero 8 has now packed up for no reason. Have only had it since January this year and used about a dozen or so times. It seems the circuit board inside has simply ceased to operate. These things are overpriced rubbish. The customer support is non contactable from here in the UK. They are good when they work, but it seems each generation of these things is more poorly and cheaply constructed. Steer clear of these overhyped gimmicks.
And may I ask if you have any recommendations for a camera that can do similar things and be mounted on a chest rig?
Mine 💩 the bed today. Tried 3 different batteries all used to work fine last week. Tried computer charging, sd in, sd out, battery in, battery out, external gopro accessory battery charger says my batteries are full. Tried every combination of sd card in out w and w/o battery, format sd card in computer. Tried everything again, no go. Awful suspect that force update a couple few months ago, mine anyway and now everyone's hero8 is dying. Guess this is my last gopro, fool me once shame on you gopro. Fool me twice would be shame on me. You're not getting the chance to finger bang me again.
I turned mine on today...it froze after I finished going through the settings. Had to long press the power button to turn off and now it won't turn on. Smh hero 8 black
Same here. I can't get anything out of mine. Haven't taken but a handful of pictures and some videos. I'm beyond pissed. 300 dollar paperweight now!
@@SPARC3337 called GoPro, got hung up on twice...manager sent me a 25% off code that makes the GoPro 11 go from 399 to 425 when I enter the code because it's 25% of the 550 retail price. Fuckin joke. Best thing I found, was get a new email address, sign up for GoPro subscription for a year for 25 dollars...then do the replacement for 100 dollars.

It's a common problem for Gopro. It overheats and the processor contacts break. Try to leave it overnight in the freezer and you will see that it works as long as it stays cold ;)
Unfortunately is not a permanent fix .
I did everything but still not working. Its never been droped or wet.

Go pro 8 is a total piece of crap. I spent a ton of money on this thing- I like my old one so much more

my go pro was submerged in water while I'm charging so my go pro is not opening even I do all step to open my go pro so wat do u think is the problem?

Solid red light on the front tried everything still no go OK UPDATE called support n they were able to fix it ✌️😊

@@Roboticdoughbull3k ok i got mine working i called support and i did all the steps they said the only thing different was changed the charger cord n had to reformat the sd card id recommend calling support
