Prafulla Mahanta, Hiteshwar Saikia and Sulfa were the main culprits behind this killings of innocent people. But Prafulla Mahanta never got punished and still getting VIP treatment. ULFA fought for the rights of Assamese ppl. If ULFA didn't existed thn by now Assam would hv been totally under bengalis, Biharis nd marwaris just like tripura
Still Assam are rule by them.....Biharis ,Bengali,
And many more.....I guess in many states of northeast they r doing buisness
Prafulla Mahanta knew everything.. but he got clean chit.. politics in Assam was always a dirty game
Correct
Prafulla Mahanta had all the power as Chief Minister but not that of police and law & order. The unofficial boss of law & order those days was GM Srivastava, the then IGP (Law & Order). Central agencies and a section of Assam Police utilized surrendered Ulfa (Sulfa) to carry out these dirty acts. All these were happening with support and direction from the then BJP government at the Centre. Prafulla Mahanta was warned by the Centre to not intervene in the secret killings or else, he was threatened with President's rule and dismissal of the AGP Government in Assam, as had happened during his first term as Chief Minister.
@@ArpitSingh-nh7irprafulla mahanta was behind all these ....everyone knows it ..periodt
@@ArpitSingh-nh7irthat’s what I thought. But any articles about this where I can research more?
Not only in Assam. Politics itself is a direct game
I was personally very feeply hurt on hearing Dimba Rajkonwar's death as I happened to meet him at astc Dibrugarh while working at Nahartoli TE Dibrugarh in 1994. He was indeed a very dear personality with high humanitarian values. Will remain always sad when thinking of him your father. Life has to go on and am proud of the fact he has a worthy son in you. Carry on brother.
Thank you
every story in book is bone chilling... i hope you cover all the stories
I never read the book but yes i have heard stories about those days from my family. It was a very dark period for assam . My father was also kidnapped by the liberation as his elder brother fled from the group. Many months my father was tortured and when left he ran for his life and hid somewhere a couple of months. But fortunately no casualty found in our family but the trauma and fear remains in his heart forever. He says if anyone knocks in his room while he is in deep sleep ,suddenly the trauma occurs (ptsd) and wakes up sweating and with hyperbreathing
How’s your father now?
@@ChowSurengRajkonwar he’s fine now. We left our previous place and shifted to a new place in 2002 so that all can forget the past. As mordernization came its better now. Thanks brother for sharing your side of the story. Wish u best for the future comings!! Do well
@jyotishmoysonowal thank you
I am so sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing your story. This era still sends absolute chills down my spine when I hear the stories from my father. He says the security forces would even abduct and torture anyone who had the same surnames even if they were not related to the ULFA members at all. There's a secret spot near my late grandmother's house where they would bring in such victims and torture them and she could hear their screams all throughout the night. People are scared to go there to date. The current youth of Assam is lucky to never have gone through this phase like our parents and seniors did.
Thank you very much. It was worse then what you have heard . Hopefully, it never gets repeated .
I was looking for this sort of videos for so long..we assamese should know our past as well the real facts of our people to strengthen our roots....keep going..we will support u all possible way...
Thank you for sharing your Father's Story dada..Gom pai khubei beya lagise ...
Your story is a folklore at my home. I've heard my parents and their brothers and sisters engaging in deep conversations of all of the incidents that you have spoken and mentioned. That is how i am familiar with Arabinda Rajkhowa. Very sorry to see how your father has been made a scapegoat in all of this. Sending you love and prayers
People come with good fate and struggling fate . God has given all the hardship to us . But we are now used to it . We can survive anywhere.
I am crying when i watch your video.Hope karma will do the needful.Stay blessed beta
I want the Assamese version...
You are the one with the video I found on Instagram😢 This is so tragic. There are many stories like this around us. Kudos to you for being brave and sharing your story. And respect to your mom 🫡
Thank you
Thank you for speaking out. This was one of the darkest periods in Assam’s history, a time that many have almost forgotten. As someone who has researched and studied the secret killings, I know how gruesome the events were. On the same day your father was killed, Dharanidhar Das and his entire family were also wiped out. The tragic stories of Umakanta Gogoi and his family, and many others, remain as painful reminders. While it is important to move on from this dark phase, we must not forget the innocent lives lost. Did we, as a society, do enough to seek justice for those killed during the secret killings? No. The least we can do is remember them and tell their stories.
May your father and all those who lost their lives rest in peace. We failed them, but their memory lives on.
I was quite all these years because during that time neither did I understand nor I had a platform . Now that I have a YT channel and atleast 13 k people follows me , I took a lot of courage and let people know what happened to many innocent souls. Moving on from the dark phase is easy to say but the victims family have to live with it . It’s a chapter in our lives that will always be there . It’s a stain or a wound that will always be there . Anyway, thank you for taking out time and writing down a comment
I have tears in my eyes as I finish watching your video. It brought back memories of those dark times in Assam. I am so sorry for what you had to go through. My family went through a similar fate. One brother joined the organisation and the other brother got picked up and tortured regularly until he died of an accident. The house where my old mother slept got bombed one midnight. She almost died of the shrapnel. They called it pressure tactics but one calls it murder of humanity. The brother who was in the organisation too was later caught in an ambush. Then he seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth. We haven't got the closure yet. It's been 20 years!
You got a new subscriber. Kudos to bringing out the truth.
Brother you are an living example of how strong you are & had enjoyed your narration
Thank you very much buddy . Hope bujibole Eku problem nohol .

I also grew up listening to these secret killing stories from my parents. Since i was small at that time, i never knew the exact scenario. Now i have a clear idea.
I'll surely order the book.

I came across your video by chance, and I wanted to thank you for shedding light on this. This incident represents one of Assam's darkest chapters, a period that many would otherwise prefer to forget. It's appalling that the perpetrators are still walking free. Take care!
Thank you brother for leaving a meaningful encouraging comment.
Aibur kotha ajikali generation ye prai najane, 2000 or pasot jonmo hua hokole. They should know. We, who have seen it all, enough gore and brutality, as kids and teens back then, should tell our collective stories. Personally I was in the parade ground during the infamous dhemaji blast incident of 2004. Just like me and you, many of us, from all corners of Assam have been through some. That dark phase from 1990s to early 2000s did caught us all very well. History should not be repeated that's why it's important to tell the stories to every coming generations.
Correct
How strong one should be to share every detail of such heartbreaking incident. More power to you❤

Thank you . These incidents took place 24-26 years ago . When all these happened i was naive . Now that I can relate hence want the young generations to know the dark phase of Assam
Wonderful gift to your loving father on Father’s Day. Yes you please try and narrate the stories of the other instances of the secret killings of Assam. People must know. As a very senior citizen, it’s my duty to urge all you young Assamese youth to try isolating the ROOT CAUSE of Comrades turning against Comrades. Assamese society needs to imbibe true Military values

Kudos to you for bringing up this topic. Most of my classmates and friends are unaware of Assam's history beyond what's taught in NCERT textbooks. Hearing stories about the Pre- and Post-Assam movement period from my parents has inspired me to study more about it. Finally learning about the experiences of real-life victims has been eye-opening. I remember reading this book some 8 to 9 years back. The saddest part of that period was the inhumane torture that the families of the accused had to face. I'm really sorry for the loss you had to face brother, more power to you and your family

My greetings to you Chow Sureng, I know about this incident because my father used to work at astc as well but at that time he was working at AFC, near to your office but frequently visited astc as he had a lot of friends over there even might knew your dad as well. My father narrated me this incidence once from his perspective but at that time was an infant, still chills down my spine with terror. I am glad that I could know the details about it. Even my father was under the radar, interestingly from both sides. Grandfather served the army and my father was an NCC cadet before, so suspected to be working for them while the other side thought the other way because of my father's strong political opinion and independent brave thoughts which were just false assumptions. We were living a simple life but pains so much when harassed without any reasons that's why I can feel what you might have went through.
I'm pleased to meet you over a platform, never thought will ever come across. These things are never meant to be forgotten.
Keep working on it. My support to you.🙏🙏
People who have similar stories often cross paths. And our stories have made us meet like this . Hopefully, everything is fine at your end. Hopefully uncle is also fine . Thanks for the support .
Thanks for sharing your story brother. We northeastern for the people aspiration and political struggle have lost many dear ones. As a Naga who have lost an uncle serving the Naga army understand your pain. Wishing your family with lots of happiness and blessings.

I am really sorry for your loss.someone should make a documentary on this issue
One day there will be a documentary series about all these killings
I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I understand the hardships your family endured during that time. My father also joined ULFA in the 90s, and my family faced unimaginable harassment from the police. My uncle was beaten many times and jailed just to find out my father's location. My aunt, and grandparents all suffered greatly because of it. Eventually, my father left ULFA, but the scars of that time remain with us. Please know that you are not alone.

I am a witness to the harassment endured by our family and village. Many of the young people have left the village due to the torture inflicted by the Indian Army and police.
Every other day, I hear of someone going missing, only to have their body discovered later. The case of the late Dimba Rajkhowa in Dibrugarh remains vivid in my memory, leaving me in a state of rage and distress.
And 26 years later you come across a video in RUclips where his son is narrating his death story . How incidents can connect people , just imagine . Thank you for watching the video and leaving a worthy comment.

Areee... now i remember the words my father used to told us during traveling from Changlang district to east siang coz we hv to stay a nitght at dibrughar during those days to catch the farry from Ghat to cross Bramhaputra, as my parent were serving as govt. Employee at changlang. Hv heard all this killing, blasting n kidnapping incident regulary. Tirap- Changlang district were also facing this kind of problems at that era. Many times we were struck in sudden ASSAM BANDH at Dibrughar,Tinsukia or Margherita coz of all this n need to stay in hotel room quitely.i remember my father read the news Assamese newspaper as he studied in Assamese medium n tell us news.
My childhood memories of traveling with fear n excitement of visiting native on festivals n on vacation is warm up. I remember Army personal / police personal used to check the transport buses n vehicle were normal at any place at any time. Some time we stand out of buses in queue with fear n all. Thanks for making the video n sharing ur life changing movement as now many years hv been pass we even forget all this incident. But watching ur Video my childhood memories are gearup. Keep it up n stay blessed n happy with good health. Dibrughar's chowkidingee, thana charali, medical college line, main market, kusum hotel, sunview hotel, sunrise hotel... etc. hv travel in touch with this places till 2006 as we were compelled to travel via Dibrughar Assam to reach my native.
Good to hear from you dear. We have crossed such paths. Hopefully , koi bura phase , a phase like should never come to northeast India.
