In regards to question 5. Use different profiles? I tried this as well but in order to do it you need to go into the drop down menu from the top right of the playstation portal, go to settings and sign out. I then signed in with my sons account/email and his profile and log in came up. It's cumbersome because it's extra steps but can be done!!

I found that wired connection to headphones was good but, 3.5 to say a JBL Charge 3 speaker, came out very static-y. Also tried connecting to XRocker chair with same results. Anyone else try external speakers?

But I think I still have a small doubt at 1:44 when you play split screen does it make player two’s screen the whole screen of portal and player one’s screen your whole tv?
Good question, no split screen - both players will be able to play looking and seeing the whole screen.
How Can 2 portal multiplayer?
You are essentially just connecting the Portal to the PS5 and the PS5 handles the multiplayer. Think of the Portal as a device that just mirrors everything that is shown on the PS5.

I really wish Sony would have put more emphasis on that aspect and way of thinking because I think the reaction from the public would have been much more positive...
It's always just been an alternative display in my opinion but others compare it to handheld consoles which is ridiculous!! It's a TV with a controller!!
100% and well said. I think for me where my PS5 is located in my garden office, it's a no brainer. means I can have the comfort of playing my ps5 games wherever I want.
When using a DualSense controller with the Remote Play app on phone/tablet, are the haptics/rumble disabled? If so, I suppose this would be the only way to get haptics/rumble with Remote Play.

It is disabled not only that but this is the only way to remote play full screen and 1080 p resolution
What about spilt screen? Like cod multilayer. Can 1 person be on the ps5 and another on the portal?
It worked for Fifa so I can't see why it wouldn't for COD.

Thanks for watching - when you mean stuttering, do you mean the buffering to the PS Portal? If so - this is determined by the quality of your internet connection. The better your wifi signal and connection the better the stream being delivered to your Portal.
Can yu use this portal without ps console like ps vita?
Unfortunately not. The Portal is just a remote play tool that connects to the PS5 allowing you to play your PS5 games remotely.
So would I need a ps5 to use the portable or can I just buy a portable and play without a ps5 ?
That’s correct you need a ps5 to use the ps5 portal. The portal is really just a way to connect to your ps5 using an internet connection and play your ps5 library. It’s not a standalone handheld console like the switch.
What’s the difference between ps portal and is remote reply on iPad in terms of performance
It's the same really, the only real difference is that the Portal comes with the built in controllers either side of the screen. So instead of two devices (iPad and dual sense) you have just the one device (portal) with the combined screen and controllers either side. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

So the good thing about the Portal is that it shows the wifi connectivity - the better that signal the better the smoothness and delivery of the stream from the PS5 to the portal. The one thing I would say is it's far more noticeable on competitive games such as EAFC24 or MW3. For games like Spiderman 2, God of war its actually really good and the experience is fun especially when your outside of the house. No Artifactes from the games I've played. The screen is super sharp. Better than remote play for sure.
Can’t connect to my hotspot
I think that you can add a 5g modem with the firmware so that you can connect a 5g modem to the ps portal. The question is, will Sony add such an opportunity?

I got mine in the mail today. I opened, went to connect it to the PS5, and returned it 4 hours later. Price is good, but it's worthless.

@JayFlare I have a portable (thin as a cracker) 4k foldable monitor I use to bring with my lenovo go an steam deck, I also use it for my systems/PS5. Im all for digital games, but not streaming them, because wifi (strong wifi at that) is not always available. And I travel A LOT! So I'd rather bring my PS5 and portable 4k monitor. I don't make myself justify a purchase by what "people" say... I justify a purchase if it is worth it... and it's not.

@waynecatlin4198 what's funny is, why is everyone acting as if the have "ONE" TV? I'm finding this to be hilarious. Before the portal got mentioned, what were people doing? Were you streaming on your phone? Were you streaming from your PC? Were you even streaming at all? I'm going to guess both sides of the coin... therefore, if you weren't streaming, you were on the TV... so there's only one TV? If you WERE streaming, do you care about latency? Do you care about graphics? Because those two put together, don't make good for a long term solution. Now, back to your comment... of course I have my solution, I want every bang for my buck. I'm also not a follower. This isn't about the system itself for me, it's about what Sony and other gaming companies are trying to make us comfortable with. The argument of physical vs digital is quickly becoming digital vs streaming. I'm ok with owning digital, but once streaming becomes a thing, then we TRULY will own nothing... and it will be because of systems like the portal that will have pushed us there. Think past the portal. Because physical, digital, and streaming can not and won't coexist with the rise of these types of consoles.

I'm not going to respond to everything because it's a philosophical discussion where ultimately no one is right - just perceived truths and preferences...
One thing I will say is that very few people only have one TV, but constantly taking a console from room to room (which I have done in the past) created additional problems for me...
I'm short sighted and have minor kyphosis (back problems)...
Proximity to the display and a comfortable place to sit are absolutely vital for me!! I NEED both or it's just not happening!!...
The Portal is perfect for my needs!! 👍
