He is is always surpassing his previous drumming skills and techniques. The way he progresses as a musician is a testament to his dedication to his craft, which he has obviously mastered.
Blake is a beast on drums! I got to meet him at a drum clinic in Virginia Beach back in like 2014. Very cool dude. Super humble. When I asked him, "Mike Mangini or Mike Portnoy?" He replied, "Uhhh, I'm gonna go with... Mike. Yeah, definitely Mike. He's awesome!"
You wouldn’t guess by looking at Blake that he’s one of the most creative & best drummers to ever walk the earth.. He looks more like Clay Matthews from the Packers or something
I am so thankful to have lived in an era where the talented humans of BTBAM have not only met and flourished, but I’ve been around to see live multiple times, through pandemic and all. Blake, this is amazing! Cheers and thanks for all the endless inspiration
Saw you in Ft. Wayne Thursday (my 13th BTBAM show) and just reassured me that you're my favorite drummer. I've been playing for 8 years myself and still cannot wrap my mind around how you write what you write. #Respect
been listening to this guy ever since Alaska and all he's ever done is improve and push the boundary. It's insane how he keeps finding new ways to blow our minds.
Best drummer alive right now IMO. BTBAM as a whole is just continually exceeding my expectations on what they create. SO glad I got to see you guys play in Charlotte for the 10 year of Misdirect (even though it was a year late :D) Finally hearing those songs live was fulfilling.
Blake, you probably don't remember this at all, but the tour from last year you gave me a fist bump in Phoenix, and it warmed my little fanboy heart, thank you man and keep up the good work!
As a drummer myself seeing you play live was one of the greatest things I’ve ever witnessed! Equally made me want to run home and practice and also sell my soul to whatever deity can grant such powers
You're the fucking man. When you guys play at the Complex in salt lake they always really fuck up the sound levels, so that all you can hear is drums and vocals. But it's just given me a greater appreciation of how much of a MACHINE you are 🤟
Técnica, potencia, velocidad, creatividad ... Blake es batero muy completo, mezcla la simpleza y la complejidad dejando espacio para los demás, mis respetos Máster
I was Glued to Blake when I saw him a few weeks ago. His performance is unreal. So glad this drum cam is up, basically will be on repeat now haha. Many thanks Blake for the bad ass, unforgettable memories. Damn, now to hop on my kit!
Holy smokes that drum solo is as sick as I thought it would be knowing Blake but dang! So sick hearing just his part of the solo instead of all the guest drummers for the album.
man I heard that cowbell and was like there is no fucking way. thought to see it played in real time and thought *there is no fucking way* saw this video and still, I am so much happier knowing this is at least playable by a human
I was legit looking forward to see you doing Navene's parts to the letter. Even though your part in the drumsolo is much more well thought and harder (in my opinion), he put some fire in his parts too. But anyways, you're still a beast and waaaay ahead in the game! I Love you Blake! I've learned SO MUCH from studying your compositions and learning your songs up to every detail, and it has definitely made me a much better player! Keep rocking, you monster!
Saw you at the Detroit show a few weeks ago (maybe my 19th or 20th time seeing BTBAM), and I couldn't stop laughing during the drum solo parts. I bet Blake is thinking, "Shit, now I have to learn all these solo parts to perform live." Killed it though, love you guys. :D
Blake is a badass metalhead Neil Peart in my humble opinion. His technicality and creativity is just amazing all while expressing his unique style. He will continue to become even more of a Legend. This isn’t even his final form😂🔥🔥
2:36 He's so good, he can even play with bendy sticks and get powerful hits out of them :P Great job on this song and the rest of the album. Colors 2 was a bold statement and you all rose to the challenge!
Hey, Blake! Saw you all for the first time at the Cains Ballroom last night in Tulsa. Really enjoyed your playing. Could you explain what you're doing at 1:54 between the ride, bass drum, and toms? Really enjoy that fill and it looks fun to play! Take care!
@@blakeyeatsteaky ah, sweet! Gonna practice this at home. Thanks for the reply. Slowing down the video wasn't helping, haha! Enjoy the rest of the tour and I hope to see you all again soon!

The error is now working perfectly again. Thanks, Blake!
Yep he fixed it alright
Error 404 is deleted.

Correct answer.
During lockdown I finally bought myself a little electric Roland kit. Gimme a couple decades and I'll have this song mastered.
You got this bro. I bet you get it in a year or 18 months, max
i love that you add your own touch to the guest drum solos while still sounding faithful to their styles.

I think he looks a little like John Bonham tbh.
Go Pack Go!
@@OverpoweredByMonkif Bonham was JAKD

Your favorite drummers, favorite drummer. Jfc man.
Blake has been my favorite drummer since I first heard Colors in 2008, and he proves it time and time again with stuff like this. King.
Saw you in Ft. Wayne Thursday (my 13th BTBAM show) and just reassured me that you're my favorite drummer. I've been playing for 8 years myself and still cannot wrap my mind around how you write what you write. #Respect
That little smile after the drum solo section cause he knows he nailed it 👏 👏 👏
been listening to this guy ever since Alaska and all he's ever done is improve and push the boundary. It's insane how he keeps finding new ways to blow our minds.
Dude is honestly inhuman. He can play their entire albums front to back with almost no mistakes at all. Just insane precision and memory

Just the BEST. From the drop. Glass casket and beyoooooooond. Fan since the beginning.
Break free from the maze!! One of the best drummers on earth!

Still can't believe the only New England stop is Burlington VT. The rest of us miss you and will have to catch you next time, sadly.
Just saw you guys in Des Moines last night. ALWAYS killing it. Your drums were on fire, man.
Blake has the best drum tones out there imo. The Tama starclassic with the hyperdrive shallow toms with the Tama bell brass is heaven to my ears.
The perfect way to listen to BTBAM is... on stage!
They are incredible 👏🤘

One of the best drumming performances ever.
Just reinforcing the reason you're my all-time favorite. ❤️❤️❤️
What ever needed to be fixed I think it is now error free! Thanks Blake!
Great video! Now we need Human Is Hell drum cam LOL
Such an honor to see this live last night. Much love from KC!
the best drummer and band hands down on earth
Holy I don't know how I'm just seeing this. Absolutely killed it!!!
It blows mind how Blake can not only compose but also perform such amazing drum work. 🤘
Man! I was at this show! The observatory in Santa Ana California. These dudes NEVER disappoint. Long live BTBAM
Love how he’s always got a smile on. Makes it look so easy
Sweet. Glad to see quality content like this.
Blake! You’ll always be the king imo. BTBAM is my top bucket list band. Can’t wait to be able to see you guys. Stay metal 🤘
You're like a computer being able emulate all the different drum styles for this song live
Damn, this video quality is god tier...
Such a great fucking performance, love how you took elements from Portnoy's solo part and made it your own :)
Sounds good! Thats a heck of a job remixing the whole live show in a drum- up way!
I don’t want to play drums unless I can get to this level. You are amazing.
Legend! 🤌
Definitely not an error. He's definitely been the BEST percussionist for a long time now. Due respect to Danny Carrey
chills throughout my whole body this entire performance
Awsome! I wanna see more live content on Twitch!
I love the spin you put on the drum solos...
Heck, I love everything about this performance.
This dude is the absolute GOAT! \m/

As a bass player what a delightful thing is to have a drummer like you always in the pocket haha BTTBAM my favorite band no doubt !

freakin' amazing!
Absolute beast.
Mother of god, this guy drums.
Going off that Double Helix IG post, im guessing that also got recorded 👀👀 maybe the whole show 👀👀👀
The whole show was definitely recorded. I could see the red light shining the whole time when I saw them :)
The fight between him and the tambourine with the click in his ears must be so annoying. Incredible band and Incredible drummer!
that's a gorgeous drum set
Blake is so inspiring
More drum cams!!
Yesssss! So awesome 🤘🏻🤘🏻
The goddamn master
Phenomenal 🤟🤟
As a bald man and a mediocre drummer Blake is dunking on me on two different levels. Damnit.
This made me laugh thank you 😂
He makes the shit look so easy!
This song always makes me either want to take someone out to the ballgame or get my face melted.
Someday I'll play that snare before I die.
The GOAT at work again
Blake's snare sound is always killer but more recently it's just out of this world. Pretty sure that's a bell brass and that thing is too killer.
3:47 is blowing my mind. The whole thing is great though!!
Good rockin' stuff!

Left hand works down the toms after the snare and the right hand just stays on the ride bell!
