That's what they say, and to be fair that's what a lot of the "useful idiots" of the bleating mob believe, but those at the top are pretty happy to tell their real motives: they'd rather rule over a wasteland than live in a utopia they can't control like tyrants. They want to eliminate white men, the only group of people who have historically taken up arms against slavery and ethnic cleansing when it wasn't even directed at them.

It's worse when you have ADHD. If a potential employer finds that out, they can respond one of two ways:
    1) They don't see your creativity or out-of-the box thinking. They don't see that you're cool and calm in a crisis. They don't see that you commit yourself 100% to a passion or project. They don't see the 40 hours of work you can get done in 8 hours. All they see is that you can be distracted, you struggle with motivation when you work alone, you're prone to insomnia, and they assume you'll bounce off the walls all day. So they refuse to hire you or let you move up in the company.
    2) They don't want to look like the bad guy for not hiring you, so they stick you in a position you're not qualified for or happy with, and they offer you zero support.
Pro tip: Don't disclose your ADHD until you've settled into the job and are past your probationary period. And only bring it up if it's absolutely necessary.

    • @SunwardRanger83
      @SunwardRanger83 2 месяца назад +4

Funny (ironic,) that you should point out the wisdom of not disclosing you have ADHD when you actually do, compared to the number of people I've worked with who self-diagnose it then constantly use it as an excuse for mistakes or to do less work. I agree with you, unless it becomes a factor in your job, it's none of your employer and coworkers business.

I had a friend in middle school who would always use Adhd as an excuse and never went far.
People regularly ask me if I'm ADHD, to which I say "No, never been diagnosed." [and I never want to be! I'm lazy enough as-is, a diagnosis in my teenage years would have crippled me for life. No doubt about it. ]

    • @AtarahDerek
      @AtarahDerek 2 месяца назад +2

@@sonictimm So you never want to know if you have a dopamine deficiency that can lead to Parkinson's disease. You never want the accountability that leads not just to productivity but to a fulfilling life without regret for poor and harmful decisions. You never want to identify the strengths of ADHD and use those to your advantage. You never want accommodation at work when a night of insomnia has left you so useless that you can't even drive safely, and caffeine won't do a thing. You never want to stop feeling guilty when executive paralysis has you trapped in place despite increasing desperation to get something done.
No one EVER said that acknowledging a disability is the same as using that disability as an excuse. I don't use my ADHD as an excuse. If I didn't sleep and cannot safely drive to work, I call off. That is NOT an excuse, it is a legitimate reason. I am otherwise the most reliable person at my job, so when I have to call out, sure it disappoints my boss, but she has never blamed me.

    • @AtarahDerek

@@SunwardRanger83 Not everyone who is self-diagnosed will behave that way. If someone really does have ADHD that they've gone undiagnosed with all their life, they're much more likely to put in the actual research to learn about it and how to treat it without medication (which they can't get because it's cost prohibitive and should always be a last resort anyway). I'm self-diagnosed. I'm doing my own research. I'm treating my own condition. All I require from others is accountability, and I'm more likely to actively seek that out than someone without ADHD. I do also require 12 hours of complete solitude after a night of insomnia.

The worst part is that many can meet the same standards. Take for example Dr. Ben Carson, he is objectively speaking one of the most gifted brain surgeons in the world but with DEI policies people might don’t his abilities because they assume he had lower standards due to skin color.
DEI only breeds and foments actual racism. Now you see a straight Asian or white male doctor you might think that they must be better than they are to have overcome the DEI nonsense, while immediately assuming the opposite for a black or woman doctor.
Consider Oregon segregating math classes because inner city Chicago kids who happen to mostly be black are failing math. Rather than seeing it as a regional problem with specific schools the left instantly jumps on a racial bias. Then instead of the schools doing better, they segregate classes in order to actually bring regional stereotypes into national fact.

Reminds me of school and how when I was new to my medical condition that took tons of work to manage ordinary situations but then there were students who basically identified as having mental issues with stress and they could get special permissions for getting more time on tests, take tests in different rooms, and get different deadlines. Even before I had physical issues, I navigated anxiety on my own--never occurred to me to get special permissions. Heck, saw plenty of people who milked that without even a pretense of mental issues, so I didn't see the permissions as a legit route.

    • @yulfine1688
      @yulfine1688 3 месяца назад +2

that is different and anxiety itself doesn't generally qualify, it has to be medically diagnosed and upload those documents. I have both physical and mental disabilities, so me getting certain seating because im half deaf and even with my hearing aid its hard to hear I don't see an issue because it provides me an actual chance of hearing and learning. Being able to record some things or take photos so that I can actually have access to something that others wouldn't need because they don't have those issues.
I have limited mobility so theres things for that, ptsd and bipolar are not easy to dance around and especially not around other people, those who are neuro divergent it can be the same. There's no magical dance around and dealing with such symptoms, those with autism may do fine and others may not because its a spectrum as is bipolar and ptsd.
Meds can help as can therapy but there's no cure, anxiety on the other hand is more manageable and often not viewed as anything special because everyone has anxiety of varying degrees, unless you're diagnosed with severe anxiety disorder where you have panic attacks, compulsion, ptsd actually falls under that differently and so on.
So yes by requesting through the disability office and providing the necessary paperwork and information that falls under the criteria you can gain those perks and you have to actively request them every time. So every test you have to request it usually a week or so in advance, if you want the extra time and a place that is more secluded to test where you're watched more carefully anyways, as for different deadlines no, that isn't a perk anywhere I have seen and its not one Sam Houston has in their program that's for sure.
Changes in deadlines require more than just i have anxiety or a panic attack and is far as I know at discretion to the professor most of the time unless its severe which often requires documentation of some form.

There are two types of DEI I seen in my carreer as a neuro-a-typical person. (Well 3 actually)
1: The one I seen in this video where your get higher chances to get hired regardless of what's going on.
2: The one where they hire you, but not for the position you applied for, but for things like Janitor work, Treadmill work or lame busy work and say: "Yea no.. no.. we see your CV but maybe in a few months of work we will allow you." I applied to be an IT mechanic, I got litterly the diploma's for it, i got the specialists for but because im neuro-a-typical and you need to hire me you put me in a box not doing what I studied for?!
There is also a 3rd and that's: "We want to hire you for a different job all together! We need it filled with someone with disabilities!" (This job was demeaning too, but I fall it under 2)
But while I agree DEI is bad for hiring practices, the truth is... Company Hiring practices are TERRIBLE IN GENERAL!
Even if we remove DEI and requirements, the work force quality won't improve... why? Cause honest workers who don't lie on their CV/Resume won't get the jobs they apply for.
Infact... most jobs require you to have a higher degree then the job asks for. As someone in IT I know this.
I studied to be an IT mechanic, fixing software and hardware and keeping the place running. Who mostly wanted to hire me outside of Neuro-atypical DEI stuff?
"We are gonna hire you for the level below! CALL CENTER WORK!"
Me: But I am level 2, I am overqualified, let alone I have no expirence as a call center worker."
Company: "Ooh but.. we want level 3 to fix our pcs."
Me: "Level 3 specializes in server maintance and installation...."
Company: "Ooh that's level 4's job."
Me: "Level 4 are Server developers and programmers for PCs...."
So yes.. the mechanic has to be the call center guy, the server maintance guy who specializes in programming has to fix PC parts and the programmers have to maintain servers... and how do level 4's get to do their job as server programmers in companies? I don't know.. probably freelancing it.
Heck how many times have you seen job applications asking this:
Looking for young junior employee of age 21-28 with 15 years of expirence.
Heck there is litterly a story out there where programmers made a new programming language and one of the creators COULDNT get the job in an office cause:
    - We want 5 years of expirence.
Creator: "The programming language has only been out for 3....how can anyone even apply then?"
So let's combine this problem with DEI.
You have the credit, you have everything you need to be hired for the job that is possible within your reach, but what's this? You need 10 years of expirence? HOW?! You can't expirence 10 years of that work....it's impossible! Well they won't hire anyone then.. but then either someone who's lieing on their CV gets through.. or even they get side stepped for a DEI hire who doesn't qualify.
So eitherway... we get people who aren't qualified or people who aren't qualified. Cause the actually qualified people get put in the lowest positions possible. This is why most managers suck these days, cause they arne't qualified and lied to get to their position.

This has been proven true to me time and time again as I've seen who got selected over me on LinkedIn. "Mid-Senior job requirements: 10-15+ years experience, multiple certifications, etc. ad nauseum." Me with 20 years experience with an amazing background.. but I'm a white male. "We're sorry, but we have selected another candidate who better fulfilled the criteria." Me: "WHO?!" The candidate: A young female of color fresh out of college with 0 years job experience and some bonus pronouns. Yes, this has happened NUMEROUS times. We're talking jobs right under the VPs of some very major companies.

What this skimps over, is why. DEI quotas come from investment overlords, and not filling them risks boomer investors bailing out, and might result in a bankruptcy when it's time to pay for loans.
It's neither compassion nor malice, at least by those who are on the receiving end of "forcing behaviors". What guides Larry, well, who talks about Larry? That's what.

As a "neuroatypical" (for þose who actually use þat word, þe vast majority of us prefer neurodivergent), I agree wiþ Seamus on how we're generally treated by þose who care*.
*people who say þey care about neurodivergent people, especially þos who use "neuroatypical" (which ironically makes life harder for dyslexics, who are included under þe neurodivergent umbrella), don't actually care and just infantilize þe group

I'm Autistic and therefore neuro atypical, and I fully agree with this. Yes, I'm handicapped, but I much rather do what I can to improve myself and my abilities in order to perform to the standards expected of anyone in a given position, rather than having the world around me "adapt" to me by putting different and usually lesser standards on myself. If I don't fit for a specific position, then I should not get it. Chances are there's something else that would fit me better anyhow. (despite how difficult it is to find any employment in the first place)

To get diversity at jobs they should have forced marginalized kids to take certain classes in school and take certain jobs so they had a competent worker to fill a quota. The military promoting people and lowering mental and physical standards because of this is unforgivable.

There is a quality problem that should be talked about more. In Finland, the media DEI resulted in ethnic employees starting to quit and leave the local media company because these employees felt that the DEI that the company started using was racist and patronizing and that the DEI tutors and trainers have a "white savior" syndrome. And the media company didn't even change it to another DEI course that could be better in quality even though the ethnic employees called out this current DEI course because none of their DEI trainers and tutors belong to ethnic groups but recognize themselves only as "allies".

Lowering stardards based on your supposed diversity should be seen as discriminatory. As they are assuming that without such lowered standards, you'd never make it. They are openly stating to minorities that they are supposedly worse than others in some ways and therefore requiring help not granted to others.

We had an entry test where I worked for years. Then our all female personnel department went DEI about five years ago. They dropped the test all together because the “diverse” applicants couldn’t pass it. They also removed the tech level tests which tested you for promotion.
I have retired, but I hear it’s a revolving door there now of DEI hires.
