If MIG 21 is outdated why we should have Tejus which is equivalent to MIG 21. I may be wrong please some one correct me if Tejus is equivalent or superior to MIG 21.

Rama Murti Paluri Mig 21 is 3rd Generation. Tejas is 4+ Generation. Ground-sky difference

Tejas is meant for the replacement of the category i.e., light combat aircraft(LCA) in which Mig-21 & Tejas falls. Further, Tejas is far ahead of Mig-21 in terms of technology, avionics, electronic warfare and several other areas.
