I’ll go against the grain and I’m sure I’ll get the wrath of the followers from it. That guys negotiation wasn’t that bad. He gave you an initial price, you took three $5 items out and wanted him to lower the total he was on by $7 more lol. Then you called him out for being $1 off saying $48. “I’m trying to figure out your math”. Couldn’t he say the same thing to you when you removed $15 in controllers and wanted to save $22? Also, you left about $50 in value not grabbing those action replay discs
@@jkhooverpoint still stands. He took three items out (my bad) then wanted a $7 discount for buying less items, then he kind of had a smart response when the poor guy was off by a buck. Also, the guy said $5 per piece but $30 for all. He had 3 PlayStation controllers, the GameCube and 64 controllers, the joystick, the n64 vru and the gba game, so he already cut a $10 break in the price. Asking for a better price is one thing, I get that, but doing what he did, then not only acting like the seller made the negotiation weird, but also using it as a clickbait video title is in bad taste.
@@jkhooverwhat was his video title about? He literally made a stink over the sellers prices then critiqued him over math. It’s okay to turn removing $15 in items into a $22 price break, but I’ll be damned if the seller is off on his math by a buck.
Poor tact on your part. The guy offered you a deal and you tried to Jenny pinch him down holding holding him to full price values and not his discount.
My favorite is when I go to yard sales and people say, on ebay it goes for this much. And my first thought is, well then sell it on ebay. Haha. A lot of people seem to forget that this is a yard sale and most people dont want to pay ebay prices. The whole point of a yard sale is to get rid of your items. I think what you paid for the games is more than fair especially after you had to unwind all the cords, etc. Another good video. Take care!
Actually garage sales, goodwill and the salvation army was places that poor people went to find things they couldn't afford new. That has all been ruined by resellers.
I disagree. I think anyone should be able to garage sale and or thrift. And I could careless what people do with the item after they buy it. Now I do have a problem with hoarding of sports cards at Walmart and Target and people buying the whole shelf of boxes. That's ridiculous or Goodwill charging hundreds of dollars for video games, etc. Or charging more for an item used then what the previous store such as Target sold brand new. I got more of an issue with the Salvation Army charging 20 bucks for a random Funko Pop. I agree though that some thrifters ruin for everyone else and those are the aggressive ones you see at Goodwill pushing through people and acting a fool but for the most part idc about resellers if they can act cordal like John and some of these other people do. You might not like it or think it's a real job but they do out in a ton of work and in this economy you make money however you can.
That’s what I said 😂. I literally yelled at my phone “what are you doing???”. Guess it’s just karma for trying to lowball the guy. $60 bucks was more than fair for the lot.
Ya what screaming deal for a bunch of tangled up controllers that he flipped upside down on a table that he pulled out of a old storage unit he bought.... bahahaha
For something he thinks he can maybe get $80 back on total? If he sells all of it for $80 on ebay that put's him at about 68-70 after fees, but then take out shipping materials, time spent buying, listing, and applicable taxes, and he loses money.
Yeah honestly PlayStation controllers go for $15 tops, most likely $10 a piece so that’s $30 15% eBay fees knocks each controller down to $8.5-$10 per controller. So him paying anything more than $4 per controller is a waste of time. The GameCube and 64 controllers are worth more honestly, $10 each for those would’ve been decent pickups. But yeah sometimes it’s hard negotiating with people who know your reselling, gotta remember that sometimes if this was an older person or someone without a camera, the price could’ve been cheaper
That second knife block set had what looked like 4 Star Henckles knives in it. Did it have a price on it that was not shown on camera? Above average quality products.

John it seems you get a little choked when peoples prices are not to your liking, what do you think snap on tools are worth? crying about about old junk controller prices is kinda strange as well, do you go to every sale looking to rip people off for printer ink and golf clubs?
I’m fine watching videos where they ask for deals. I think we all do that at times. My issue is the sellers math didn’t deviate nearly as much as Johns did, yet John called him out like he was trying to rip him off, used it as his clickbait title, and now there are people who watched the video saying the seller was “cringe”, “a tool”, etc. what if that dude watched the video? Hell, John said in the recap he should double up. We are really resorting to treating a yard sale seller like trash because we can only double up on a deal?
