- YeeFit Gear & Review - This is my review on the Costco down quilts and the gear hack to mod them into my hammock sleep system. The Costco quilt are economical, light weight, and are great shoulder season options that will get you down to temperatures in the low 50's. I mod one quilt into a under quilt that is suspended under my hammock with shock cord. I use the other as a top quilt with a foot box and a cinch around the collar. I hope this video is helpful, Enjoy!

Put in stuff sack in the hammock internal pockets. Keep the sacks clean and dry.
COuld you help me understand how a sewn footbox translates into usability on a hammock? I am confused wouldn't you need it to split the whole way down?
Yes, great question. A sewn footbox will seal in the heat better and keep your feet warmer on those cold nights. If the blanket is open all the way down you will be able to vent heat, but it won't keep your feet as warm.
I think it gives you more versatility, If you want to use it as a top quilt in those colder situations or attach snaps so that you have to option to open it up like a blanket. I just prefer a closed footbox so I can used is as a top quilt when sleeping on the ground.
I have something similar. Going to use it next week and expected to get into the 40's. I may double up as you suggest.
Cool, you should be fine. Doubling up does make a difference. I would not go below 40 though you might get some cold spots. Cheers
