Frankly I wouldn't call Hermitcraft an SMP at this point, its more of just a megabuild flex showcase that happens to be in survival, the flow is unlike your usual SMP game
This was definitely a lot easier for me to personally digest than other big-name SMPs because it was a lot more playing the game than telling a story. It was nice and casual, and I feel like that's an energy we all need these days.
"Consistantly as soon as people go to the end that end of the smp is very close" Hermitcraft going to the end and killing the dragon episode 1 every season and still going on for a hundred episodes or more.
The thing is that the Hermits function differently compared to most Minecraft RUclipsrs in that they actually know how to make more long term goals for themselves.
Is nice to see an SMP that uses Mods aswell as incorporating a story into it without it being too big of a focus. I'm excited to see how this progresses :D

Set up dispensers with bone meal in them around a red mushroom under the portal, and hook it up to trip wires. If anyone goes in, the portal self destructs.
The real chad move would have been to go to the End, load up on shulkers, elytra, endstone, chorus, get the dragon egg, all the End exclusives. THEN destroy the last portal and have the most OP monopoly on the server.
God those Echoes at the end speech felt like it could have been from a good movie or show. The talk, the decision, the groups forming friendships and the wrong man dying. It was certainly interesting.
If the main gimmick of the SMP is that modders can add their own content to the server, couldn’t someone just make an end portal crafting recipe and go to the end?
It's really hard for me to pay attention to streams or live/uncut footage but your content still keeps me intrieged, so even if I miss one, I always watch the vod. For many years I wanted to see an SMP where people add or create mods as it goes so I was very happy when I saw the notification for ep.1. You guys literally made a dream come true and I can't wait for the next one! :D
I'm curious as someone who has been trying to develop a way to make the skin face icons by a player's name in chat, how do you do that? Is there a plugin I could download, or a datapack? A script I could use? Also, nice video! I am surprised that Fundy showed up in your chat, that is amazing. I can't wait to see more
The reason most servers end after beating the end is because you are getting the feel of finishing your quest on the server. Its not the fact that destroying the end portals keeps the server alive, its that you have some more stuff to do before ending your journey.
It's so funny looking back at this and seeing how it influences later events in the smp... if astron hadn't saved the last portal, we never would've gotten one of the coolest, most interesting mods and stories
this was an amazing start to an smp and i have taken so much inspiration from this incredible community. i simply wonder how you managed to generate only three strongholds? i know the basics of what you did but i’d like to know the more technical stuff so i can do it on my smp (i use yung’s better strongholds aswell) whether someone helps me or not, i just wanted to say thank you to the content smp members for creating such entertaining and fun content.

If you really think about it, Astron was right. If you had broken that portal, Blake and Nox would never have been sent to Neverend, and Oceana's iron grip on the server likely never would have been broken.
Hey doctor4t you might wanna look into the Emancipation effect and make another player disassociate and then jump into their body and become them also make sure to hide your original body. Edit: Check out the wiki it explains more things like obelisks and soul vessels. Edit 2: I didn't realize you made the mod oops well at least you know how to work everything then if you want to get rid of someone permanently giving them penance III permanently(I don't know how to get penance III) and trap them in an obsidian box they can never escape. Edit 3: Ok checked and you can for some reason you can phase through obsidian so you need another way to trap the dead guys in a way they can't phase which is probably by coding your own mod or just changing the config

Attempt 1 of asking you to make some assassin items and add them to the smp. For example a full set of armor that fits an assassin. The armor itself can be very weak (in terms of protection not durability) with its chest piece being a cloak that makes you invisible for 1 min even with items on ( it can have a 30 sec cooldown) . The helmet can hide your identity(skin/face) and name tag. The pants can be normal and the boots make all your movements (falling down/taking dmg/breaking blocks) quiet while in the invisible state until you hit someone. The weapon can be a dagger that is or can be coated in different poisons or other harmful effects. Its next effect can be a passive that is a backstab. When you hit someone in the back while you are invisible and holding shift you deal a massive amount of damage. When not invisible and holding shift but you still hit them in the back you deal a good amount of damage but not like when invis + shift. As for accessory items you can add a grappling hook (to climb walls or to get near players) and smoke bombs that blind the enemy and help you escape while you wait for the cloaks invis to come off cooldown. This is just my idea but i strongly think that it will be so much fun. You can have a secret identity as an assassin for hire or sabotage other players. You can even be the leader of an assassin guild and so on.
What Astro said at the end got me thinking about recent Rat lore that he is now revealed to destroy worlds that he could've doomed the world at this very point if he destroyed the End

You could remove all the lava and stonebricks from the portal room and fill the whole thing with deepslate/stone so the portal room is completely hidden and you know where it is (get the coordinates).

It's pretty easy, just put a bed under the end portal and push them in, when they respaen/leave the end they will be instantly teleported back in
