After every game the media/fans are going after different players. It is just silly and I’m glad I am not particularly passionate about England while Southgate is in charge.
Separately though the growing disrespect of Saka, not just as an England player, is something I do care about.
Is Kane an option for LCB or Phil Frauden an option for GK? Saka at LB only highlights Southgate's failings.

I'm gonna put this out there, if Southgate was sacked/stood back, and someone said to the England team,"right,you all know and play against and with each other, go out there and go for it" would we do better? I think we couldn't do any worse!
I Agree with Ian Wright - Saka is currently Englands best left back at the moment. Shaw isnt fit and we know Trippier isnt a left back either.
I disagree. If Saka was a left back or if his skills are best used at left back..Arteta would have used him there at least once. It’s also saying to Saka we don’t value your contributions at winger so move for Palmer. Forget u have been top 3 Epl right winger in last 2 seasons

The idea is not outside of the box because you could play saka LWB rather then traditional LB. A traditional LB wouldn't work with saka I don't think but LWB would cook
If Saka can't manage a single shot on target in his last 4 games for England (against a nation last night with a total population of 2.1m) then why not play him at LB against a big side.
What could possibly go wrong?

@@DarrenTaylor-be5hf Yes Sakas biggest strength is his consistency. This whole Saka at leftback thing is madness, he'll get ruined at leftback and we will lose. To be honest I don't see the problem with Trippier at LB, the problems at RB tbh. You can't have both fullbacks high up the pitch because it leaves you too vulnerable to counters so you only want one attacking while the other tucks in to make a back 3, Exactly what Aké and Ben White do. Trippier can play that role as LB we just need a RB that can overlap Saka and help him get 1v1 instead of being 1v3 like he has been so far.

Suggesting Saka go left wing is different to suggesting he goes Saka LB. Saka has not been at his best in the tournament so i dont see whats the fuss with just letting him rest one game out and letting Palmer start. The problem for me is the disrespect of Bukayo Saka. Would anyone suggest putting Phil Foden LB? Or Sané? Or Coman? Or Pires? Why put one of your better perfoming players (even though not as good as he can be) in a position he hasnt played in for years in the last 16? I just dont understand how Ian Wright came to this conclusion. Saka played LB for Arsenal under Emery.. 50 games max? He was a winger in the academy..
