You missed it! Surfed there for 2 seasons in 82-83. 6 guys out all foreigners, friends of mine, not a single Spaniard/Euro surfed at that time. Surfing has gone from the Sport of Kings to the Sport of Kooks. Before no one filmed anything, there was no Social Media. Now everyone has a camera, many trying to sellout spots for ad $. The sport is basically ruined, now dangerous, screaming locals, stressful & no fun.
100% brudda, mainstream BS.... so lucky born in 61', pro during the 80's surfing around the world, we were all just one tight fraternity, everyone pretty much knew each other and there was no mass hype. We were looked down upon as unproductive drifters, society didn't want to know us, now we can thank the big corporate surf companies and hipster BS for such a decline in what it once was to be a surfer. Everybody is a surfer these days, just ask them..... good luck to them, they are out for thrills but I'm so glad I lived and surfed in such a real, golden era.... Amen

Holy fkn crowd... How do you even find the right guy to punch in the head with so many in there?? Drop-ins are the worst, especially in big surf with unfriendly bottom surfaces with a notable mention for Puerto Escondido because even though it is sand, that heaviness is deadly.

I do the videos becouse I like it. After saying this, I wanted to do this video in slow motion and if I had to do it again, I would had done exactly like it has been done ( in slow motion). That does not mean that other videos will be done in slow motion but this one I like it like it is.

I got it to myself on a tiny, chest high day last winter. Long and glassy. I hate crowds so would never surf it big. Surfed a few spots 20 years ago in the north regions uncrowded. The last ten years its been too crowded.
@@tuskedbeast Mundaka has two points to take the wave. One point is where the wave stars to break. This is the BEST point but some times the surfer dont pass the line. The second point is more or less in the middle of way of the wave. This point is usually easer and you can take the waves that the people of the top dont pass. In this sesion there were in the watter more than 200 surfers. That is the reason they are in the middle of the line. Too many people.
