  • Let's dual boot #OpenBSD and #Linux. Why not? Both are great operating systems. It's tested on MBR.
Before doing anything back up your data first.

No way! What a coincidence :-) Debian is one of my favorite distros. I also dual boot Debian 11 with OpenBSD on one of my old Eee PC laptop.

Great video. Unfortunately, I am still a bit clueless as I need to encrypt the target partition for the OpenBSD install first, before I install. How do I do that? The instructions that I have will wipe the entire SSD....

    Hi,
I am trying to install 7.1 OpenBSD and 7.3 OpenBSD together(trying to create a triple boot with Ubuntu).
    1. When Both are primary partition
The later install will overwrite the previously installed OpenBSD.
    2. When One is on the Primary and the Other on an extended partition.
The later install will overwrite the previously installed OpenBSD.
    Question:
    1. Is there any way to install both together? or Am I missing something?
Can you please guide me to make a triple boot system?
Please let me know if any other information is needed.

will it be any different on uefi?

    • @TheOpenBSDguy
      @TheOpenBSDguy  2 года назад +3

Yes there's a difference. With UEFI if the CSM is enabled, OpenBSD will overwrite the default boot loader.
      More info here: www.reddit.com/r/openbsd/comments/ckviqs/comment/evr51d9/?context=3
Most of the process remains the same though. I should probably do another vid to cover UEFI part.

I'm afraid that's not possible without using Grub or a third-party bootloader. Or at least I'm unware about it
