How lovely to have had the company of the four footer. That hot sun- nicer under the trees I presume, keeping the sun off your head. That lake looked stunning and cool. Glad your walk ended up on a positive note. Food looked delicious. You worked hard for it with all that walking. 👍🎥❤️🌷🙋‍♀️

As always a brilliant video. A hole in the ground is always interesting 🤔 and getting lost in the woods was still fascinating. Finishing with a 🍷

So nice, you had the best guide - did the dog show you all the hidden gems of Fruška gora? :D Amazing view that opens to the lake. The food looks nice and looks like there was a lot of rakija.

Heya, loved your video adventure in Serbia :)
As a local, I often do just wild jumps to some area, city or site or other within Serbia, especially not being able to travel much around these days. Like taking first random bus to 100+ kilometers away after waking up, into the uncertain nowhere. Never got disappointed.
It's not so rare to end up in a completely wild area and not meet people. And most that you could meet are local villagers, - it's not like people would jump you from the forest, but it could be a wold or a bear. Once i went far down south, and you cannot imagine how silence can be deafening - was chilling and fell asleep at the creek only to be woken up by a villager that went on to get some fresh water from the stream source.
Anyway, there's no such thing as private property in a national park such as is Fruska Gora. But you can't argue with people in middle of wilderness you don't know. Lots of people around that area were displaced due to NATO bombing and wars in ex Yugoslavia and have certain attitude toward English speakers, even not being the local population. I apologize, we, the originals, get the same treatment.

Thanks for all this, really interesting info. Yeah, it is very easy to forget what amazing places you have on your own door step. We do exactly the same with our home...! Yeah, we were fairly certain the land was private, but wasn't worth getting into an argument over, with our very limited mix of Russian/Serbian/Polish! Just grab a few pics and move on. Thanks for your comment, so nice to read.

Loved the random walk and you being adopted by Frank. Did you go into the church? And the food looked delicious!

Sadly, the church was closed, so we couldn't go in. The man went to the effort of making sure we has a range of vegan food - though deffo the most expensive meal we had in a while!

Ah, I've just watched your video of Novi Sad, and now this... You're the only youtuber who actually went for a hike in Fruska gora that I know of. And I have no idea what that wall is,though I have seen it. All the best to you and thank you!!

Oh really? We loved the area and wanted to get a little out of the town as well and see a bit more. Really glad we did!

It was a search but you found the lake, it looks wonderful. Why would it be private land? Did you figure out what that weird wall in the forest was for? And some good fruity spirit in the end.

    • @slightlyoffthebeatentrack7322
      @slightlyoffthebeatentrack7322  4 года назад +1

The private land, we aren't sure, although we think he maybe just wanted to be lift alone. We bumped into some locals on our way through the forest who had some beers and fishing lines, who said he was probably just grumpy! No idea what the wall is, we had a few theories but all seemed unlikely. One of lifes little mysteries!

I love how you read Russian/Serbian with such a cute accent! You got several fluffy friends on the way! The park looked really
Nice) I also love walking in forests in my case jungles) the place in the end looks abundant. Isn’t it scary to be alone in a foreign country somewhere in a god forsaken place lol?

That’s a shame about the lake. We have issues here in the US too where some places are a mixed of private, public (local/state) etc and it’s not always easily marked. Looks like a nice day though, although we know that feeling of knowing there’s days more stuff to do but you only have so much time

I live in Novi Sad whole my life and hiking in Fruska Gora whole my life too.The trails are terribly marked and badly maintained, and yep some 'big' douchebags could and can 'buy' pieces of nat.parks so its now their private and its forbidden to access even though public hiking routs go there and that happens with more and more of parts of nat.park .Also for eny citizens or hikers is strictly forbidden to have picnics or sleepovers even if you see there picnic and camp sites all over Fruska Gora, which is insane as it has more then 400kilometers of official trails on it .Also you got lucky that you were there in October cuz that's when google finally made corrections to the very wrong map parts, cuz before that was pretty normal to get lost in the woods or fields even for very experienced hikers as combination of non maintained trails, absence of blazes and incorrectly mapped paths and routs by google.I was lost myself for almost two days (September 13-14th 2020) and somehow managed to find the way to some village ,as rescue teams start searching 'only' after 48 or 72hrs ater report that person is missing or lost

Wow this is a really interesting insight. Thats incredible that you got lost there for so long!! What happened?! Thinking back now, guess we got fairly lucky with our timings and looking around. We were depending a lot on our GPS on our phone being correct, cos there were plenty of times we were unsure if we were going the right way!
