Bran Castle & Rasnov Citadel - A day trip out of Brasov | Romania Travel Vlog

- Bran Castle is a very popular attraction for those staying in Brasov while travelling in Romania. Famous for it's association with Count Dracula from the Gothic novel by Bram Stoker. Despite other castles in Romania having stronger connections with the man who the character was named after; Vlad the Impaler, this is the one that has gained most attention. A small but pretty castle, it's easy to get to and has an interesting history. We recommend coming off peak, as it does get very crowded.
When done in Bran, we hopped on a bus to visit Rasnov Citadel, not too far away. Located in a beautiful location with views of fields and mountains, it's a much quieter attraction than Bran with an interesting history of it's own.

Bran Castle was really cool to see. I especially liked the views into the courtyard. This vlog was also very informative. The "distraction" at the end was soo cute.

I really liked Bran Castle and its beautiful setting. This was a great trip down memory lane. I loved all of the history and information. We didn’t get to Rasnov so it was great to see the citadel. It is a fascinating place. Thank you for sharing.

This was so interesting! I've always wanted to go to see the castles here. I really like how you included the historical stories throughout the video like the one about the prisoners and the well and the homes in the Citadel.

The hike seems a stretch because it is very open, not a lot of green or trees the way up, but the view is great from the top. The castle itself looks nice and historic.
We were there in December! You look almost as cold as we were--when did you visit? We rode the train up to Rasnov Fortress from the parking lot as well. We did not know that part of the story about the well--the prisoners and the writing on the walls--interesting! It was much more windy for us at the very top lookout at the views. Which place did you like better?
