Full Review of the Team Associated DK10 short wheelbase Dakar 1/10 buggy! How good is this new short wheelbase truck, is it the best Team Associated car to get?
#teamassociated #teamassociateddk10
Sometimes you can pick up the LT10 version of this over at Hobby Recreation Products for $175 or $200 with a LiPO. It's a good truck for the price. AE/Thunder Tiger just has no idea how to price their entry level models (On Amain this is $350, the Trophy Rat $250 despite being the same thing).
I recognized the RB10 chassis pretty quickly after they announced this. It made me wonder if they wanted to introduce another race class for places that may not have the space for a full size SCT class. It's funny how much it looks and flies likes like the bigger trucks do on the track. This could be a fun RTR class at a carpet track and it makes me curious what a mid motor B6.4-based version could do
getting a bunch of these together to race would be pretty cool!
Pricing is all out of wack. This is $100 more than the MT10 and $200 more than the SCPro4 in New Zealand. Cool little truck but not for the money.
wow, can't believe the price is so different in NZ
You're right mate. Same here in Germany, but the mt10 and the sc10 have also become more expensive
And the most tragic thing is that everything is a copy, no groundbreaking design in any overpriced rc car
I think it is a little too high on price but your comparisons are really weird. It doesn't make sense to say "why get X vehicle when you can get a completely different type of vehicle & class at a cheaper price." Maybe someone wants that particular class. A MT is a 4wd Monster Truck. A Pro4 (closer here) is a SCT but 4WD. This is a short wheelbase 2wd SCT basically. Different class if you're racing completely. If you're not racing & just bashing they still drive differently. Maybe someone wants to improve their driving more with the 2wd challenge. Now if you wanted to make a stronger case, you could just say "why wouldn't someone get a regular Pro2 SCT for $339 with it's longer, more standard wheelbase. That would make more sense.
@@St3_yo I get what you’re saying and usually do my reviews based on class. BUT this is the only SW SCT that I’m aware of, so there’s nothing else to compare it to since nothing else exists. So I decided to talk more about what you can (or cannot) do with it.
They need to make a stadium truck version using this chassis .
Don't think it's hard to make a jconcepts stadium truck body fit . Different set of tires and you're set.
It would need a chassis a little longer than this, this chassis would be find for some sort of wheelie truck though
I tried to put stadiums on the fronts and could not get turn in on it at all. Need those buggy front
I love SCT. I'd love to see you do the HPI JUMPSHOT SC FLUX V2. I just did one on my channel and i couldn't believe how well it performed.
The dk10 looks like alot of fun! I picked up a sr10 on black friday for cheap and added a sway bar and it handles extremely well on the street, and can definitely hold its own on a fairly small dirt short course track, i was keeping up with 4wd scts surprisingly well even with nearly bald stock tires on it and being super low to the ground. I'm sure the dk10 would do extremely well!
I really like the Paris/Dakar style body, looks cool. Good performance and great parts support. I'm just not sure who this is aimed at? Not really a short course, not a buggy, not a racer but not really an ideal basher, either? Curious to see how these sell but I think AE might have got this one wrong? Personally, I'm much more likely to grab the Pro 4 SC10, just way more versatile!
yeah, it confused me quite a bit at first.
Hello what diff oil weight do u recommend to use for slash 4x4 lcg front diff, center diff and rear diff when racing?????????
It looks like the team associated sr10 chassis with sct bumpers and different wheels and body. 🤔
So does this take traditional buggy wheels/tires? New class? Ie not short course…interesting
The thing that frustrates me with this, is Associated goes and makes 2 vehicles based on the RB10 that nobody really asked for, put the time into 2 new bodies, when if they just made the chassis a little longer and used SC10 arms they would have a 1/10 rear motor stadium truck like many people have been asking for.
Associated seems content with raiding the parts bin (SR10 shares this chassis too.)
And price them like a traxxas brushless
Can you convert it into a longer regular wheel base? If you just buy the longer chassi and swap everything
Really like the odd looking body of the LT10. Looks a little bit like a Datsun 720.
Looks like the audi e Dakar truggy
The green body looks 30 times better. 🤣
Agree100%. Looks like a datsun 720.😊
you're not wrong...
£325 for a brushless 2wd short course £250 maybe but not £325
thats kinda a bad choice if you read between the lines
Looks like a RATROD with a different bodie
Thanks, love your reviews... "the soul of the vehicle" hahaha, i'm laughing cos it's true!
That sh!t looks like a ladybug. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Overpriceoverpriced like lots of team associate, they cannot do an entry level , the either go for top end or they feel the incredible urgento sell a plastic stuff with a cheap electronics for 350 (germany).. cmon! I got a vxl traxxas slash 2wd for the same price!!!
The Slash 2wd is the same price? It has plastic shocks, plastic driveshafts, plastic geared servo and an open diff. The Associated has aluminum shocks, steel driveshafts, metal geared servo, and a sealed diff.
@@RazorRC it mean nothing, scale is VERY DIFFERENT! Also, the vc also the plastick shocks are still very decent, the diff is sealed actually and the transmission is full metal, also the driveshaft are very resistent and proper. Just some small upgrade still do not justify the grat scale difference and price
Unjustifiable price IMO.
How can it be more expensive than the MT10???
🤷♂️🤦♂️🖕
Less sold , mt10 shares parts with a lot brands do parts dirt cheap
1st
Who cares
Nobody cares. But you're probably 10 years old, so congrats 🎉
I would say the Team Associated Pro4 SC10 is the better jack of all trades. Extended chassis version of the Rival MT10 so just as bashable as the 4X4 Slash and Senton, but far better handling and jumping truck. Same motor/esc/receiver/transmitter as the MT10 so that I would say is that is the only downside; though the servo is actually pretty good for an RTR.
that's a good choice!
I agree - I love mine. I bought it to compete in the Short Course class at my local club, but it's good at pretty much everything. Not sure if the box servo is the same here in Europe, but it was way too slow for the tight track I was running on. On the whole, it's pretty much invincible too.
I have a senton and a slash 4x4....both are good at jumping and racing....i shamelessly race both of them with good success
