Note: The type 8 activities that I described in the video are not begin-all-end-all. Those were just examples. 8s are driven by a lust/craving to feel intensity through various means, which can also manifest as a strong desire to achieve a goal. But at the end of the day, 8s are not systematic or bent on logic to achieve their goals. Their goals are usually set from a place of wanting to feel "alive". Just wanted to mention this.
I thought core 8 was incompatible with F. Like isn't ESFP too sensitive? 8 is more cold outside, wearing armor, but all warm and vulnerable inside like T. E_T_ only for 8, like ESTP.
Subtypes exist. Your description of E8 being cold and projecting a hardened persona is synonymous with SP8. SX8 and SO8 are more open with their emotions. A good example of ESFP 8 is Trevor Phillips from GTA V. He is dominant, reckless, and action oriented, yet at the same time, he has strong values about loyalty and respect. He is an SX8.
@@MindMaverick1 So those who associate 8 with being E_T_ types, like ESTP, cold and hard outside, warm and vulnerable inside, are just thinking of the Sp8.
When it comes to Naranjo, yes. The thing is that there are multiple interpretations of Enneagram. Enneagram was first created by Ichazo and then it was reworked multiple times by various authors like Naranjo, Riso Hudson, Chestnut etc. Each author has defined the types a little differently. In this video, I have talked about Naranjo's interpretation of E8. Naranjo's Enneagram is most detailed. So how someone defines E8 also depends on which author's work they are referring to.
The way this video essentially mirrors my typology journey is hilarious. I'm an ESTJ and I initially thought I was a type 8, I met an ESTP who is a type 8, he was like "I'm an 8, you're def not an 8." and he was right. I'm a one, but that's not all, my heart type is 3 and my head type is 6, so it checks out. What are your thoughts on Te Doms being SP Ones? You mentioned SX and SO but not SP.
I was initially sceptical about Te doms being SP 1s, because SP 1s tend to be more softer and personable compared to other E1s. But after some more studying, I realized that their tender side is highly overrated. So SP 1s can also be Te doms. I stand corrected.
MBTi is about cognition and enneagram is about motivation. EXTJ 8 is not an impossible combination. EXTJ 1,3 might be more common than 8s, but EXTJ 8 isn't certainly impossible.
Did you even watch the video? Yes, MBTI is about cognition, which influences behaviour and drive. And yes, Enneagram is about motivations, which also influences behaviour and drive. You can't be ExTJ 8 because their drives and behaviours contradict each other.
There is no need to go over them when their dominant function already contradicts E8. The dominant function influences most of the user's cognition and behaviour.
Yes, they are pseudosciences but we discuss these pseudosciences because: 1) They're interesting to study as a hobby. 2) And more importantly, they help us understand ourselves to some degree, by making us self-aware. And even though they're pseudo, they have logical principles. And we must follow those principles, otherwise they wouldn't help us at all. One of those principles, is correctly typing yourself by observing your cognition and behaviour. And if you type yourself differently within two or more systems of typology, so different that your types within two separate systems are complete opposites, is proof that you're not self-aware at all. It also proves that you don't understand your own hobby either.
@@MindMaverick1 Does this apply to socionics in your opinion? if you have knowledge in that system. for example i type myslf infp in mbti but IEI in socionics which is mean my top functions is Ni-Fe there.
@@Errrls The definitions of functions in Socionics and MBTI are different. Which MBTI types are suitable with which Socionics type is large topic. But INFP being IEI is completely natural.

I’ve been arguing the same, MBTI pop folks attribute INTJ Mastermind with 8 fix when the literal definition of Ni is to suppress Se. 😂
Keep em coming!
Your hypothetical theory becomes useless when you actually meet an ENTJ 8 in reality.
True

Next time someone comes at me with this ENTJ 8 bs, i will just send them this video, just captures it well
Can you discuss more about which types enneagrams can’t be.
Sure.
interesting, perspective good rationale and reasoning but what about their suggestive function which is Fi and their child function se/ne
