- Today, we make 3 mods to the E30 late model (but also applies to early model)
First, we replace the radio, but not with just any radio - This one is a hidden gem of functionality that I drool over every time I get in the car!

Then we update our steering wheel. And yes, I call it an update. While I love my Mtech2 370mm, I figured that upgrading to an Mtech1 is more fitting to the decor of an E30, find out the differences between the 370 and 385!
Finally, we ditch the MHW lookalikes and go back to brand new stock rear taillight housing assemblies, but the mod we make is pretty cool. Not uncommon to euro cars, but pretty cool to see here in the states. Watch to find out what it is!

Absolutely love the upgrade, I never knew such radio exist for old bimmers and looks OEM like early 90s style too. Thumbs up.
As nice as as the M-Tech steering wheels are- I still prefer the 3 spoke sport wheel. 🤷🏻♂️

Please don't unscrew or tighten the Steeringwheel locked. It can break your steering lock. The better way would be to have a second person by your side to grip the wheel tightly. I had to learn that the hard way. I strandet twice because of a Brocken Wheelock. But your car looks great. 👍

These E30 rare parts are like drugs! I love my tech2 370mm but that tech1 370mm is super super rare here in South Africa...wont mind tho. Frank that car needs a tech1 rear spoiler!!!
Great mods to add to your E30, thanks for schooling us on the steering wheels... I see your rev gauge goes up to 8k... Would like to make that upgrade to my cluster one day, I'm running an aftermarket chip with an m30 airflow meter so it's revving higher than 7k :) once in a while...
Thanks bud! Actually, that's a complete E30 M3 cluster (oil temp, 8k tack, and 160mph speedo) so the upgrades to my E30 are VERY subtle.

Hey, I updated the description to show the ebay ad. This seller offers 2 different versions that utilize the CSR8645 chip. A cheaper version of the radio he offers does not integrate the buttons for play/pause like the one I have. I wanted it to be seamless. This works real well. I can even get in the car, turn it on, and it automatically syncs and continues the song I last left off at. Pretty slick!

What's the purpose of the radio mounting frame?
Ah yes, @6:31 this adapter frame sticks into the panel and you use a screwdriver to push in the little tabs on each side of the frame, holding the frame itself firmly into the hvac panel. Then when you install the actual radio, it ‘snaps’ into the frame you just installed, holding the radio in place. It’s an adapter plate frame essentially

Yes it’s a BMW e30 moonroof with manual slider! Hard to find nowadays

Do a RUclips search for making custom taillights. Essentially same process.
You use the word, "Unique" many times in this video. Unique means there's only one of the thing in question in existence. There's no such thing as more or less unique, it either is the only one in the world of its kind, or it's rare, abnormal, interesting or different but not unique. I hope this helps.
