Now i am listening to the only legend of music for all times. Excellent, amazing chorus work. Thanks for uploading.
Merci beaucoup d'avoir partagé cette magnifique cantate de ce maître des maitres, si bien interprétée par Ton Koopman.
Regardless of one's favourite recording of this work, JSB's mastery of the medium simply leaves one breathless. Amazing!!

Merveilleux superbe il n'y a pas de mot savourons c'est tout.
Very rich momentum. The first movement is fantastic.
I love how the theme from the chorale in BWV 61 weaves in and out on the first movement here. Everything Bach is fantastic.
Jaehaeron it’s Luther’s hymn
My question how did he compose music so vast week after week and then the question becomes how did the performers quickly rehearse and performed each week. I realize musicians those days were exceptional but it must have kept them very busy to pick up Bach's handwriting to get the music down packed ready each week! This contata is simply fabulous.
I have read a good biography about J.S. Bach and there is written, that he had much trouble with his pupils which had to realize his music. It was very hard for them all, the pupils often didn't reach that level Bach wanted them to and he could get angry. So we are blessed to hear these wonderful recordings...Bach couldn't hear his music in such quality during his lifetime.
And a lot of Bach's music was lost as well. It's said that after he died, some of his sheet music was sold to a local fish seller to wrap fish.
Absolutely fantastic!!!
Thank you very much! This is the perfect music for this period of the year.
Ah ja. The piece is terrible in summer, I tell you.
Flott musikk, gjør meg GLAD
Sublime 💙💙💙
The first movement is Bach at his best.
One of 10 best bach pieces.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How did Max Reger said in regard to Bach's music? Something like: " Bach is the beginning and the end". Nothing to add here.
How did the old boy dream this up, week, after week, after week?
he recycled so much of his music
Tony Linden Not that much. Bach wasn’t as prolific as, say, Telemann, but he wrote a ton and only a small percentage is recycled.
He was an alien (or a god). There's no other explanation.

0:50, what is he quoting there? Where have I heard this before? It's on the tip of my tongue, I can almost sing it. Stoelzel's Te Deum?
The oboe? That's a slight variation of the opening of the Luther chorale "Nun komm der Heiden Heiland" this cantata is based on.
@@milkenjoyer14 ah, yes, clearly, i'm dumb. Stölzel quoted it in his Te Deum, and it's subtler because the text isn't based on the chorale.
