My name is Neeraj and am currently working as Automobile Engineer in a MNC.
First of i want to thanks and congratulate you for your efforts towards protecting the Environment.
Few years back i have visited the Ladakh on my motorcycle. It was the one of the most memorable and beautiful experience of my Life. I was stunned to see the beauty of Ladakh and was also somehow worried about its future because of rapidly changing environment.
I was so eager to do something good for it. But after returning to the normal life ,got busy in day today activities. I got again that ignition after watching your video on environment day.
So i thought i should share some ideas with you which i think can be very helpful. I don't know how practical these ideas can be, but i think you can make them practical if my Ideas even worth one percent attention.
As Community have power to make impossible to possible, so my ideas are to collaborate with the traveler and riders community to protect the environment.
Believe me the nature lover Ladakh traveler and the riders would be so happy to collaborate to do something good for the Ladakh.
1. I figured so much plastic waste in the ways which can be a big problem in future. We can run a waste collection Drive with the help of this community. We will just request these people to volunteerly collect this lying waste and dump to the designated collection points.
2. As Community reach on every point in Ladakh when they explore the nature. We can request them to plant some seeds or plants at the points where is the possibility of natural water and other favorable aspects to grow the plants. ( Offcourse the plants would be decided by your team as per the local environment condition)
3. Additionally our Military's flying halicopter in all Ladakh region ( for there own purpose) can spread the seeds in mountains.
If one percent these spreaded seeds can became the trees with time. It would be be a huge difference.
Am Not much aware of the other problems in Ladakh, but if some of the problem can somehow be solved with hands of traveller's community, please make a team to start and think about this idea.
I strongly believe as a Nature, Our nature lover Traveller's community would contribute financially and physically for this cause.

I think this must be practiced in cities too , as most of them are becoming deserts day by day , without realisation.
Yeah. Rooftop gardening at least with flower pots is a good idea. With the amount of useless rooftops spaces in urban settlements, such gardens can become miniature ecosystems. I have tried that in my own terrace and observed that when many plants are raised together in a closed proximity to each other and multiple plants sharing the same pot, insects get attracted by them and they attract spiders of various colour. Even birds, bees and squirrels are attracted to such spaces if big enough. The whole place becomes nearly self sustaining. Only water needs to be provided with occasional fertilizer after few years.
