A normal person would either take a plain photo, or a normal arms-length selfie. People using selfie-sticks do so because they try to do stupid shit and brag about how stupid they are. The only time a selfie stick is acceptable in my eyes is to take a selfie of a large group of people, like at a family gathering.

The track has been there since French Indochina time. During the 90s and 2000s the city expanded with poor regulation from the central government and inventualy like you see today. The government almost shutdown these cafes but as tourism expanded and lots of tourists (mostly European) and locals voted to keep them running that was never happened. P.S when passing the area the train's max speed is limited to 25km/h, so this clip was speeded up

I would: Move the market back a bit. Add fencing. Add several designated safe spots to cross the railway, each about a kilometer apart. These would have warning lights and alarms that activate when a train is about to pass.
I've seen "train markets" like this but the train was always going pretty slow. But to have it blast through at top speed is insane and reckless, especially when it's going through a market with lots of alcohol involved
