I'm not saying your hair looks bad - not at all - but at those prices, I would expect better results. 🤷🏼♀ Thank you for sharing and thank you for _taking one for the team!_ 😉
I just found your channel through your Innersense reviews and I wanted to let you know that you have an incredible personality. You seem so intelligent, confident, laid-back, and goofy. And I’ve only seen two of your videos! Normally I have to power through hair product reviews because I’m not a huge fan of the reviewer but I could just sit here and watch all of your content. Anyway! Keep it up lol.
Hey, when you do the big reveal, do you think you could pause for a moment and show the back without moving so we can see how it will fall naturally? I love how shiny and wonderful it looks while moving around, but I often wonder what the results look like when staying still. I’m pretty sure none of us constantly move our hair around all day long. Obviously, this is your channel and you can do whatever you would like, it’s just a suggestion. I do absolutely love your content no matter what!
Haha I can sure try and do that! One of the reasons I move around for the reveal is that in real life, I am almost NEVER standing still. 😬😅 I am doing my best to give a real life representation of how the product perform. Most content online is highly curated, perfect angles, and perfect lighting. I'm trying to do a more realistic movement. But you are right, I do move around a ton. I can try and slow it down!
I just bought the leave in and it has completely changed my hair. I can’t believe the difference. I haven’t watched the whole video yet, but after the results I got from just the leave-in, I might just try the shampoo and conditioner after I run out of my Ouidad. I also just got the Verb foam gel and am loving that too. My hair is around the 2b to 3a (I have multiple different types of patterns in my hair) and it’s high density with medium porosity. It’s been a struggle trying to find all the right products I need.
Aveda is an excellent brand, my hair has never been healthier! Their regular prices are outrageous but if you take advantage of their sales and order thru Rakuten when they have a 10% off deal it makes a huge difference in the price!
Wowza! I cannot see myself paying that much, especially for such little containers. I do enjoy your videos and seeing what you get from trying out different products.
I’m in Australia so most of the products you review are in this price range for me! Aveda sells locally so doesn’t have such a mark up as the American products. KCCC is same price as this for me, for example. And treluxe, and curlsmith and inner sense etc etc. So I appreciate you reviewing it and not judging just on the price!
I am just starting my wavy hair journey (or more like healthy hair journey) and got the gel. It was the first curl gel I found in the store lol. I was glad that it took a long time for your hair to dry, because mine did too :D
I ordered the Nutriplenish leave-in conditioner spray in 2021 and it was $37 then. I didn't love it enough to buy it again, but the price has gone up by $10 in three years!
Thanks for this review! I see so many people love this but I saw it claims to elongate hair and didn’t see any real hold ingredients and skipped for my hair. Thanks for validating that for me!
I’ve tried these in travel sizes ( I love when companies offer these!) and wasn’t overly impressed. I wouldn’t buy the large products for that price. People can always try the travel sizes to see if they work.
Thank you for this Aveda washday. I really like this line mainly because it is so hydrating and the smell is great. I love the leave-in too. Your hair is naturally very shiny already so it wont‘t make that much of a difference as it does for me. But then I wear my hair in a short pixie therefore the price is really not that important for me as those porducts last me for months.
I refuse to believe you "get what you pay for" with haircare products. I've stumbled upon plenty of drugstore fails but I get more irritated with high end fails. I have many high end faves but a lot of high end haircare is only for marketing. I have a couple suggestions for another one brand wash day: I see Rhyme & Reason and Monday Haircare everywhere in drugstores.
I feel like this line of products would be for me! I’m forever searching for something to loosen/stretch my 3a-b curls & add hydration & softness. I’d love these exact results ❤️
I got the aveda botanical leave in repair and nutraplenish leave in in my fabfitfun subsciption. They also have sales sometimes where you can grt certain aveda product samples for $5 but they do sell out quickly. I wasnt overly impressed by the smell of the botanical range but I like the leave in as a prep product because of the heat protection. I do think other products perform better at a cheaper price like AG. But I love your optimism with the washday!
As someone who went to an Aveda cosmetology school, I can unequivocally say- it is not worth the price lmao. It works just okay. Hydrating and that’s about it. Next to no hold, wouldn’t work for anyone with coarser hair or tighter curls. Works alright for loose fine curls. Smells good though lol
@@J2697Jhmmm, that one released after I graduated I believe, so I didn’t play around much with it, but if you’re looking for a hydrating leave in, try the doux dear mama moisture milk, kinky curly knot today, or the bread beauty supply cream. The bread is the “heaviest” in oils and butters, followed by the doux, with the lightest being kinky curly
I have curly hair, and aveda changed the game for me! Be curly advanced is where it's at!. Botanical Repair for the parts oglf my hair that I bleached. My hair is so healthy, shiny, curly and no more frizz!!!
Not true at all. I have 3b curls and the cherry almond line (shampoo + conditioner + leave in) have been absolutely amazing for my hair. Better than anything I’ve ever used.
Hey Courtney! I love your videos! Can you please do a video if you wake up and your curls are flat? Like what products to use and tips for styling? Sometimes water makes it frizzy so I don't know what to do.
I have wavy fine hair too (maybe less than half as much as you do though) and I was worried that that gel wouldn't have enough hold. I also love protein in my products too. I have tried their flax seed and confixor gel and they worked ok a year ago but now I find them drying, but they do have more hold.
I quite like the Aveda be curly style prep and use it on and of, what I really dislike as someone who is sensitive to fragrances is how insanely strong most of the products smell. It's way to much for me!
The version you used works well on a medium to course curl. Aveda changed twenty years ago and not for the better. Between itching scalp in humidity and shorter wash cycles, it's just not worth it. You look nice with a natural heavier curl. Big hair can change face shapes.
Thank you for trying this line! I tried only the leave in (both spray version and cream version). And I must say I loved the spray version. It was my go to refresh or if my hair would feel dry and lifeless after all the styling/ or on day 2/3. It has UV protection and heat protection. BUT I bought it with huge discount and before I could my hands on Curl smith products. It is as you say, hair would feel the best and the smell is amazing, but that price tag is decisively outrageous 😅 i was rationing this leave in now for year, I love it but I won’t be repurchasing.
Thank you for your honest review on these products! I saw other curl influencers talk the crap out of this line but I would never spend that much on individual products 😅 I would love to see you review the Cécred products! I’ve seen so many reviews on those products and how shiny they make your hair and would love to know if that’s really the case.
One product that I have used that drives me crazy is Kinky Curly Custard! It seems to take FOREVER to dry on my head! That said, for the time Aveda takes to dry (not to mention the cost) I much rather prefer your results with Kinky Curly products. That was my favorite one day wash day for you! In Aveda’s defense I LOVE their “Be Curly” curl enhancer. It is absolutely one of my favorite curl creams and I believe I paid $28 on Amazon for it. I also use a extremely small amount (dime size). To me it is worth the price (vs one of my other favorite curl creams - Shea’s Curl Enhancing Smoothie).
I am just beginning to watch this video but fingers crossed for a glorious magnificent 🧜♀️ outcome!! Update: your hair looks pretty. Maybe using the shampoo and conditioner with a hard hold gel. My salon uses that shampoo and conditioner and I also feel that my hair is nourished way more than others.
I really like the leave-in from the nutriplenish line, it also has UV protection and the smell is divine. I got a mini version of the gelee and it doesn’t work for me at all, everything does weight my hair down. 😅 Another Aveda product which I like is the strenghtening leave-in. I really like the herbal smell and it’s lightweight.
I thought your hair looked great after being in the wind all day. I just started using this line and have found that I if I finger detangle before bed, I’ll wake with better results/less tangles in the morning.
Courtney do you have access to the brand Twisted Sista over there? My hair is very coarse (except I bleached it and now it's quite fine, but curls much better, I've no idea why it curls much better when it's "damaged" but it does! ) and I've found the Twisted Sista leave in pretty good. I usually use that or Cantu 3 in 1 argan oil tub, then a hard hold gel on top.
No need to try this then, I have very fine strands and medium density 2a-2b waves. These products seem better for a tighter curl pattern and drier hair I think.
I used this line from Aveda and had I known what was in the parfum I would have stayed away. I’m allergic to ginger and it’s in this line. I really liked it but once I added the curl foam my scalp felt like it was on fire. It’s like it was sun burnt and it pealed. Now I’m trying to use DIY products because I’m so overly sensitive to everything. I had a patch test done because of my reaction to hair products. It’s been 18 months and I’m still finding more things I’m allergic or sensitive to that I wasn’t tested for. It’s so difficult to find products.
I request that rather than doing one brand wash days, you try one new product with already tried and true products so we can see what differences that new product makes
I love the idea of trying high-end wash days to compare with more affordable products. On the other hand, maybe we should stick to high end products that make minis 😂 because $30-50 is crazy just to test something you don’t know you love!!
I have one question all these different shampoos and conditioners and gels do you try to use them all until the end or do you give them away to like friends or family members
Question, in one of your videos you recommended pantene deep conditioner in a gold tube. I went to try to find that and there are 3 different versions of the gold tube deep conditioner. Can you tell me which version you recommend?
Maybe it’s because of the moisture one that it you can’t use conditioner on the roots I don’t know some of the thicker conditioners John always feel good on my hair when I’ve just washed it makes it feel a little bit greasy
So unfortunate that you had to spend that much money for the results you got. However on the plus side, it's always fun to watch your videos 😅 Have amazing day Courtney 😊
Courtney, thank you for putting your hair through the hassle of trying different products. I have to say that you cannot judge products by their price tags. You have had much better results with many of the store bought lines. X
Wondering if the hydration would be effective on my mature (not quite silver) hair. Live in 20% humidity and it’s so hard to get my dry fly away hair to feel moisturized.
I did not like it at all. There are products by Aveda that I have used for years (rosemary mint purifying, shampoo, and brilliant medium hold hairspray), but I do not understand this line and why curlies seem to think it is so great.
I like the nutriplenish spray leave in conditioner. It's the only product in the line without coconut oil so I haven't tried the others since my curls hate coconut oil. But Aveda has other products I like, such as the be curly curl enhancer & their flaxseed aloe gel. I also like their botanical repair leave in & styling cream.
I'm so glad! I didn't try the leave in conditioner! Now I want to, but I'm not sure my wallet has recovered sufficiently from the shampoo, conditioner, and gel yet! lol! 😅
The leave-in worked really well on my medium-coarse 2a hair when I was just starting out with haircare, and I credit it for helping me go from medium to low porosity. But I really hated the smell. (to be fair I dislike most scented products...can't wait to use up all my products and then just stick with Curlsmith Shine even though that doesn't give me the best looking results.)
So, you used WAY too much product, which I think is part of the reason you don't like it. Also, that's a lot of moisturizing. Aveda themselves have recommended a mixture of their different lines for my wavy hair. The Botanical Repair line is amazing to combine Nutriplenish. But yes, it is so expensive and I think my scalp has developed a sensitivity to some of it. I always buy on a sale, and it lasts a long time.
Your hair looks pretty, but I don’t think what you paid for the products was worth it. Those prices are scandalous! The best one brand wash day I have seen with your hair is the Kinky-Curly brand. Blessings from the United Kingdom. X

Same. Every product had better be 10/10 amazing for that price, and I wasn't wowed.

What did it do for your hair? What was it before using the leave-in? I don't mind paying the price for something that is that good.

Hello Courtney. I was wondering, have your ever tried the Twist by Ouidad products ? Just curious
I bet this shampoo and conditioner with a harder hold gel would get you fantastic results
I already have aveda nutriplenish "light moisture." I'm starting Curly girl method and you recommend low poo to start with. Is this low poo?
Their night serum is $58 for a very tiny bottle
There is a box of sample sizes for this product on their website. It cost way less.
Aveda has seriously changed the hair game for me. I was a doubting Thomas, but not anymore!!!
Have you tried 'pretty curly girl' products yet?
I love the Aveda nutriplenish line, but then again my hair is very different than yours, dry, frizzy, coarse and kinky
Have you ever tried Garnier Fructis Curl Nourish? I used to use it and liked it ok, but I was a novice at curly stuff.
I used Garnier Fructis for so long it was good but unfortunately it has been discontinued and is no longer available, could you still find it?

I have one question all these different shampoos and conditioners and gels do you try to use them all until the end or do you give them away to like friends or family members
Yes! I keep what I will use, and the rest gets given to people who I think would benefit the most from them based on their hair type!

Thanks for watching!
It seems like it would be good for people new to a healthy hair journey, when your primary focus is on improving the health of your hair.
That I can totally see being true!
That's a curl GELEE, not gel, which is why it has no hold. It's meant to make curls the same size and keep them hydrated, which I can see it did.
Sorry, but your hair has looked WAY better with cheaper products. Your hair is ALWAYS beautiful, but those products don’t seem worth the price!
Courtney, thank you for putting your hair through the hassle of trying different products. I have to say that you cannot judge products by their price tags. You have had much better results with many of the store bought lines. X
Since you buy so very many products for odwb do you ever return the ones that disappoint
Wondering if the hydration would be effective on my mature (not quite silver) hair. Live in 20% humidity and it’s so hard to get my dry fly away hair to feel moisturized.
The melee is a elongating gel
I love the gelee but my pattern is alot curlier than yours.
Now do an Oribe wash day 💀 💸
I thought it looked soft and beautiful ❤
Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it 🥰
I did not like it at all. There are products by Aveda that I have used for years (rosemary mint purifying, shampoo, and brilliant medium hold hairspray), but I do not understand this line and why curlies seem to think it is so great.
You should use this gel under another hard hold gel. And SHOW US!! Hahaha 😆😁😁😁
Now I want to, but I'm not sure my wallet has recovered sufficiently from the shampoo, conditioner, and gel yet! lol! 😅
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
The leave-in worked really well on my medium-coarse 2a hair when I was just starting out with haircare, and I credit it for helping me go from medium to low porosity. But I really hated the smell. (to be fair I dislike most scented products...can't wait to use up all my products and then just stick with Curlsmith Shine even though that doesn't give me the best looking results.)
So, you used WAY too much product, which I think is part of the reason you don't like it. Also, that's a lot of moisturizing. I love your wavy curly science experiments! What I’ve seen from these products they do not appear to be worth the price point for me.
Thank you! Glad you enjoy them!
Your hair looks pretty, but I don’t think what you paid for the products was worth it. Those prices are scandalous! The best one brand wash day I have seen with your hair is the Kinky-Curly brand. Blessings from the United Kingdom. X
I know what their back bar prices are vs retail prices. Definitely not worth it.
If I'm going to pay that much for hair products, they better be the best I've ever used. These will be a pass for me.
Nope, Kinky Curly still the best
Sorry but at that price you should be able to be out in some wind & have better results
You are very beutiful mam i love curly hair
You used wayyy too much gel
I think it looks too heavy for your. After seeing so many other washdays. I have seen better. Sorry.
