Read the manga two years ago, saw Daddy Toji's body and started working out immediately. Since I'm a 6 foot 1 just like him, his physique was my goal. Today I'm jacked and I'm at the best shaped of my life, still not as lean as Toji but still working on it. For this reason alone Toji is my fav in jjk And Apparently he made Gojo hit the gym as well, Dude was skinny af but after he got out of the prison roalm he decided to get jacked, plus he put that Toji outfit for his final fight to look exactly like his Daddy.
toji is basically just batman 2, he's really strong but a lot of characters can beat him, UNLESS you give him prep time. toji with prep time is unstoppable
I think the big thing with Toji is not that his ''abilities'' are overwhelming, but more so that he's smart. He didn't try to fight Gojo outright, he's not a fucking tool. He knew he would lose. He starved him out. You have to recall that Toji knew Gojo couldn't reverse technique, Gojo pulls it out of his ass as he's dying. I'm not kidding. That's why he lives. He understands reverse technique at the LAST second. At least if I recall it right. Toji, if he knew that Gojo had reversed technique, would have kept going, and Gojo would have been dead. He didn't beat him by being overwhelmingly better in a bunch of ways, he beat him reasonably. He outsmarted him. Made him stay on his toes for two days straight. Drop his technique, and he lunged, like a Tiger. That was GOOD. And that's the thing, Toji would, as a pro Hitman pretty much, kill everyone like this. In 1v1s where he can't do anything but fight off the bat, he loses to a lot of folks, to be honest. Unless he kills Megumi before he summons Mahoraga, Toji dies. The story is, to me, quite a bit about empathising with folks, and understanding where they're coming from. Even if sometimes it gets a bit islly, or goes a bit wild, I don't know if it is unbelievable or so bad as to be ''unsalvageable''. Toji had care for Megumi. In his last seconds, he thinks of his son, and tries to help him, though, he knows it might backfire. He named him ''Blessing''. Maybe, it wa a joke, but Idk. As soon as he sees that he is fighting his son, he kills himself. I don't think the story is trying to say Toji was a good father, I think it's trying to say that deep down, he's not ''unforgivable'', that there's something to him. He's not even really in the same camp as like, Mahito, who is, by nature, awful, though not unreasonable (has a philosophy and so on.) I think maybe that's why he goes to heaven; he was contrite for his sins, in some way. Maybe, he is seen like this by Gojo because Gojo heard his last request, and understood his last thoughts. Gojo would be one of the only folks that would understand how ostracised and isolated Toji was, and how clan politics works, and would ahve been able to find out about Toji, and so on. I do think that they didn't really have enough of a connection for it to be there? But then again, I guess it was the only time in Gojo's life he almost fucking died. Also Toji is daddy supreme, Gojo might be the strongest (if not for Fraudkuna), but he's the handsomest, the swolest, and the swaggest.

She's a character that gets an entire volume cover, 2. is introduced when Gege realized they had killed off every other main female cast member outside of Maki (who is Toji), 3. uses her powers to do 3 things, fly around, ATTEMPTED to purify Megumi, and free Gojo from being written out of the story so the plot could happen with her in a hospital bed. This isn't even mentioning angel adding nothing... When she was introduced she was primed to be my new favorite character but i should have known better, that's a woman and this is jujutsu kaisen :(
That is pretty much a problem with most of JJK's cast at this point. Interesting design and introduction, cool power, one or two good scenes, and then gone. Kashimo was set up to be an absolute menace. The Gojo of his time, we were introduced to him nearly killing Hakari without using his cursed technique, which was so badass he could only do it once. Only goal, fight Sukuna in an epic battle that will make up for his isolation within his era. Dies in like 2 chapters against Sukuna. Noritoshi Kamo is the future head of the kamo clan. After his clan gets taken over by Kenjaku, he goes on a journey to regain his clan from the grips of that monster only to not do anything to directly contribute to his death. I don't think we had a satisfying end to a character arc post Shibuya. Angel is underwritten and the definition of wasted potential, but I would argue that's the norm more so than the rule at this point.

It is absolutely insane how glazed Toji is, simply because he beat a Gojo who could only use blue and was still a grade 1 sorcerer in high school. Did people seem to forget that later the same day, a newly awakened Gojo, who had just come back from being nearly killed, no diffed him without getting hit and one shot him? Honestly, any of the special grade sorcerers solo Toji. Current Maki is even stronger than Toji now. She became his equal near the end of the Naoya fight, and has surpassed him since. Most of the reanimated sorcerers could probably beat him too. Hakari could probably do it as well. Mahoraga could do it too. Current Yuji could absolutely do it as well. You can give Toji this: he pretty much solos 90% of the cast but when you get up to around special grade sorcerer level, he gets stomped. Some of the special grade curses, like Jogo could no diff him as well. We already know Toji beats Dagon, and you could argue he was the second strongest enemy he beat after young Gojo. He'd probably beat Hanami as well, and Mahito I could see going either way. Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing Mahito could probably beat him. Toji definitely isn't an end all, be all. He's been pretty out scaled by the current characters. He's not weak by any means but, he doesn't have what it takes to beat the special grade level sorcerers.

If it weren't for Toji, the series would have ended at Shibuya. Toui doesn't save the squad against Dagon, Nanami dies, can't lend his legacy to Yuji; Megumi dies also, making Naoya the head of the Zen'in clan; Maki also dies. Yuji maybe would have k**led Mahito anyways or Kenjaku. But then after that it's over without Megumi or Maki. Without Megumi there's no new Sukuna vessel and after Yuta kills Yuji he brings him back but the story doesn't progress anymore. Kenjaku whips out his plan. Gojo might have still be alive but Sukuna would have been inside Yuji's body still. There would be no reason for Yuji and Megumi to go through the Culling games (if Megumi were still alive after Dagon) as Megumi would be dead. Gojo would just solo the Culling Games after they find Angel. Maki wouldn't be able to massacre the Zen'in clan and neither save the day in the fight against Sukuna.

She's a character that gets an entire volume cover, 2. is introduced when Gege realized they had killed off every other main female cast member outside of Maki (who is Toji), 3. uses her powers to do 3 things, fly around, ATTEMPTED to purify Megumi, and free Gojo from being written out of the story so the plot could happen with her in a hospital bed. This isn't even mentioning angel adding nothing... When she was introduced she was primed to be my new favorite character but i should have known better, that's a woman and this is jujutsu kaisen :(
That is pretty much a problem with most of JJK's cast at this point. Interesting design and introduction, cool power, one or two good scenes, and then gone. Kashimo was set up to be an absolute menace. The Gojo of his time, we were introduced to him nearly killing Hakari without using his cursed technique, which was so badass he could only do it once. Only goal, fight Sukuna in an epic battle that will make up for his isolation within his era. Dies in like 2 chapters against Sukuna. Noritoshi Kamo is the future head of the kamo clan. After his clan gets taken over by Kenjaku, he goes on a journey to regain his clan from the grips of that monster only to not do anything to directly contribute to his death. I don't think we had a satisfying end to a character arc post Shibuya. Angel is underwritten and the definition of wasted potential, but I would argue that's the norm more so than the rule at this point.
@@rando27enco while I agree it's a common problem with characters in JJK, I think Hana is especially atrocious because of her lack of meaningful set-up and seemingly unearned narrative significance. She got snuck by Sukuna like a goofy and now must live as God's snooziest soldier watching from bed while angel spouts exposition that would have been appreciated 170 chapters ago.

@@femelee I think you're right, and i'm saying that as someone who thinks the scene where Sukuna manipulates her into losing against him is actually a really good character scene for both of them, showing her humanity and naivete, and his inhumanity. Like that scene NEEDED to happen even tho it was obviously a stupid decision strategically on her part that made her look bad. The issue is it forms a pattern with how Gege writes the female characters to all be seemingly incompetent or if they are competent, they're evil, weird or a copy of a male character (ex Mei-Mei, Yorozu, Uro, Maki). Gege is not beating the "Naoya is a self-insert" allegations anytime soon lol.

It is absolutely insane how glazed Toji is, simply because he beat a Gojo who could only use blue and was still a grade 1 sorcerer in high school. Did people seem to forget that later the same day, a newly awakened Gojo, who had just come back from being nearly killed, no diffed him without getting hit and one shot him? Honestly, any of the special grade sorcerers solo Toji. Current Maki is even stronger than Toji now. She became his equal near the end of the Naoya fight, and has surpassed him since. Most of the reanimated sorcerers could probably beat him too. Hakari could probably do it as well. Mahoraga could do it too. Current Yuji could absolutely do it as well. You can give Toji this: he pretty much solos 90% of the cast but when you get up to around special grade sorcerer level, he gets stomped. Some of the special grade curses, like Jogo could no diff him as well. We already know Toji beats Dagon, and you could argue he was the second strongest enemy he beat after young Gojo. He'd probably beat Hanami as well, and Mahito I could see going either way. Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing Mahito could probably beat him. Toji definitely isn't an end all, be all. He's been pretty out scaled by the current characters. He's not weak by any means but, he doesn't have what it takes to beat the special grade level sorcerers.
It's the easiest thing ever. I don't even think about it. When someone asks, "why do you like Toji?"... Well, no one asks that, really.

If it weren't for Toji, the series would have ended at Shibuya.
Toui doesn't save the squad against Dagon, Nanami dies, can't lend his legacy to Yuji; Megumi dies also, making Naoya the head of the Zen'in clan; Maki also dies. Yuji maybe would have k**led Mahito anyways or Kenjaku. But then after that it's over without Megumi or Maki. Without Megumi there's no new Sukuna vessel and after Yuta kills Yuji he brings him back but the story doesn't progress anymore. Kenjaku whips out his plan. Gojo might have still be alive but Sukuna would have been inside Yuji's body still.
There would be no reason for Yuji and Megumi to go through the Culling games (if Megumi were still alive after Dagon) as Megumi would be dead. Gojo would just solo the Culling Games after they find Angel. Maki wouldn't be able to massacre the Zen'in clan and neither save the day in the fight against Sukuna.
