I prefer to have all traps relaxed when not in use. The morning or night before, I will set the body grippers I will be using that day. It makes things go by faster, less tiring, and I now care the "Trapper Ron`s Safety Setter for 330 and 220 with me in my pocket just in case I need to set a sprung trap or remove some fur and reset. It is lighter, not bulky, and does a heck of a good job, at least for me it does and that is all that matters anyway. Great Channel, very good content, and THANK YOU for going to the trouble of making these wonderful videos.

Good video. It's really no different than some folks leaving the hammers cocked on their handguns or lever guns. Even tho you hear a lot of arguments both ways, over years, it will weak those springs also. So yea, makes perfect sense that it would

Should be pretty easy to get a grip tension measurer on there and figure out how much tension it takes to compress each spring with the setters if you really want to figure that out

I always wondered about this! But, I usually take the safeties off mine before I store them during the off-season!

They are just like any other spring if you leave it compressed over time it will lose some strength

I’ve heard that highly used 330’s become easier to set over time

its not the length that matters but the amount of cycles .. think about a thin piece of metal the more you bend it back in fourth the easier it moves and after enough time it will eventually break

Really don't think it's much of an issue .If it's a quality trap..

Springs do lose strength being compressed over time,35 years of trapping thought me this,
