Spoilers ahead:
The group (Lockwood, Lucy, George Holly who you'll meet later on if Netflix continues, and Kippes) went on a hunt for a ghost by the name of La Belle Dame who would captivate people(people with weak connections to life/suicidal thoughts supposedly) with her "beauty"(her beauty was just a facade to lure people). It was located at a circus/collecium thing btw. Whilst on the case the skull asked Lucy to take a chance at those "fortune-telling machines", not buying the whole fortune-telling crap she tried it. It produced two slips of paper, the first reading "He will go into the dark" and the second one reading "he will sacrifice his life for you". Now actually starting to believe that it was talking about Lockwood she became paranoid. (As he had a record of sacrificing himself for Lucy)
Skipping on a tad bit...
Lucy came into contact with the spirit and got captivated by the facade, which told her to "come to her". However, before any harm was done George made an appearance, showing Lucy the true face of the spirit which snapped her out of the trance. A tad bit later on she went to go inform the others of what had happened. However, to her surprise, Holly was descending the stairs alone when Lucy thought she had been with Lockwood. They both had no clue as to where Lockwood had gone as they both thought that Lockwood had been with the other. In a panic, Lucy sprinted up the stairs in search of Lockwood the only thought popping into her head was the note the machine had told her. When she made it to a balcony she spotted Lockwood who was completely ghost-locked and walking toward La Belle Dame, almost completely limp where there was no sign of restraint. In a panic, Lucy swung down a trapeze to get Lockwood away from the spirit. However, to no avail did it work, she sent a magnesium flare toward the spirit which temporarily stopped Lockwood from moving. However as much as she tried she couldn't bring him back from his trance, even after a silver net was thrown onto the source(I don't remember what the source was sorry). It took effort but finally, Lockwood was broken from the lock and he earned a slap to the face from Lucy. Becoming more worried about Lockwood's mental state she asked him about what he was thinking about when La Belle Dame took control over him which he claimed he had no memory of it. However, Lucy became a lot warier of it when the Skull mentioned Lockwoods 'obvious death wish' later that day, as he went into more detail about his death wish Lucy started to believe it more and more...
And yea- I found this one of the coolest scenes in the entire book series but Idk- I guess the "other side" was awesome as well. (Hope you enjoyed this, the book series is on Amazon btw! This scene is from The Empty Grave-Book #5
I like how they just built up the chemistry between them for season 1. I appreciate not pushing romance too much for the first season. I'm excited how they'll approach it if we get Season 2!
Yes, I absolutely agree with you, and that's what I thought about. It was just enough, and I am really looking forward for the next season.
I think the reason the romance didn’t happen is because Lockwood is still not willing to let anyone in yet.
It's already way more explicit than in the books though. There hints of romance only kicked in in books 3 and 4.
My new favorite ship, jesus christ I could not believe the INSANE amount of chemistry Ruby and Cameron have!
His jealousy was palpable when Lucy said Quill had asked her out for coffee. You just know he regretted not doing the same. NEED a second season to see them develop more

I thought it was very obvious in their lingering looks, the shared jealousy over Quill and Flo and those times where Lockwood was desperate for Lucy not to leave; that was definitely him saying I love you without saying it. But yes I know what you mean, it was subtle and slow-burning (as all love stories should be, really).
Yes! It's so sweet when the relationships just develop, and that they don't rush the things, makes so much sense!

Nice edit! I just finished the series and omg i am hooked. I love how its a slow burn, we have hints of a possible future romantic relationship..im okay with them not kissing yet, which means i am dying for a second season to see their relationship evolve! I hope netflix makes the right call
