      If you have turned off the power then the fault code (if there was one) has been reset. If the units not working there is something wrong, check the simple things 1st, filter clean, power and it’s set to the correct setting. Turn the system on and set at its highest heating/ or lowest cooling setting and just let it run. The fault finding process may take up to two hours to complete, so just let it do its thing. If it doesn’t come up with a fault but isn’t heating or cooling then you will need to call your local Daikin repair.

    • @FullyAirconditioned

      It may be trying to restart, some faults will keep trying to over come the problem and try restarting up to 16 times. If the fault is still there after 16 starts the unit will go into fault, this could take 1.5 - 2 hours. Just leave the system on and running for this amount of time and then see if it goes into fault. This is all explained in the video, just watch the whole video.

    I have ducted air conditioning. It's been fine until recently. The red power light keeps flashing on and off with an E 3 error code. I've reset it, and sometimes it will run nicely all day, but some days it's a pain. I can't even hear the motor when I go outside. Even when it's on and not flashing, it doesn't seem to cool, and yes we've cleaned the filter

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  7 месяцев назад

      So it has a red light on the wall controller, then this is quite an old system, at least 15 -20 years. If it’s a non- inverter then the e3 is an activation of a safety switch, hp, Lo, over load compressor, over load fans. You will need a service tech to investigate the problem. But if it’s gas related, like a leak and it’s on the old R22 or R407c gas it’s probably not worth fixing, the r22 gas is banned from being imported and what gas is here is very expensive. With the age of the system, some parts are no longer available, like the main pc board, stocks have been depleted, sorry it’s probably time for a new more efficient ducted unit i would say.

    I have a very new Daikin heatpump, maybe a little over a month old now and it seems to be going into defrost mode way too often, like every 17 to 20minutes and it takes 15minutes to defrost. So almost half the time goes to defrosting the thing. And when it starts defrosting, there's no ice buildup on the outside unit, i've checked. That can't be right is it? Why does it defrost when there's no ice?

      @@FullyAirconditioned I watched many vids about these things. Some of them talked about timers that each manufacturer put on the board, commonly 30-60 or 90mins, meaning minimum runtime until next defrost cycle. What timings does Daikin have on these things? Is one of them about 17 to 20 minutes like mine does? Anyway on mine something clearly triggers the defrost cycle even when not needed.

      ruclips.net/video/A6QUFtnLu9c/видео.htmlsi=mJE-CzTg5OSRcdwE
      There many reasons and ways systems chose to go into defrost and it depends on the brand and where it’s made. The most simple and basic is the defrost time you described, after a set amount of time if the coil temp is below the pre set temperature the system will go through a defrost. The daikin’s units like in my video (link above) doesn’t have a defrost time as such, it has a defrost function that is triggered by a number of different scenarios. The daikin units like in my video, have multiple sensors, on the coil, outside temp, suction temp liquid line temp, suction pressure sensor, and an on board Computer deciding when to go into defrost. It looks at temperature, gas pressure, temp outside, coil temperature and a number of other input, not just time and coil temperature. But depending on where the unit is made, if it is an American style outdoor unit, the standard looking barrel type system, that one is made in the US and it has basic defrost timer.

    What if I get a RCV ERROR when I press cancel for 5 seconds. My unit is a Daikin FTXR28EV1B9 I turned my unit off with the manual power button. And I turned it on again and the controller won’t do anything. It will not control my ac unit and it’s just blowing slowly.

    • @FullyAirconditioned

      Your AC system is the “Uluṟu Sahara” or the ‘US7” that what it was called in Australia, it has a different remote and it dose some extra things over a standard system. I can control the humidity add land reduce humidity. I looked through the services manual and could find any thing in reference to RCV. When you say you turned it off, was that from the button on the front of the system or an isolator / circuit breaker at the switch board, as this is what needs to be turned off to reset the system. When you turn it on and off from the button on the front of the system it go in to “i have lost my remote mode, emergency operation” and it will run and cool if its hot or heat if its cold, but it doesn’t turn on, on the last setting you had it set to.

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  11 месяцев назад

      If the green light is flashing and the unit is not emitting a beep when doing the test with the remote, then you will need a repair company to check it out using the daikin d-checker. The d-checker will display the fault code. My guess is that s mouse has got into the wall cavity and followed the pipes into the indoor unit. In there the mouse has chewed through the small wires to the board that contains the beeper. Take the cover off and see if there mouse poop or chewed cables.

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  Год назад

      Double beeps let you know that one of the two digest is correct or part of the fault code. If you had a double beep on E6 and E1 then E is the common digit in the fault code. You just need to find the 2nd digit, it will be a number, try the 2nd method in finding the fault code in this video, it brings up more faults.

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  7 месяцев назад +1

      Leave it in and let it run for 2 hours, set it to the highest setting. Your system may be in the process of working out the problem. Like in this video the fault is an outdoor fan is locked ( not spinning) the Daikin’s unit see this fault but doesn’t stop and shut down showing a fault straight away. It tries restart the system 17 times, each time it pauses for 5-8 minutes, goes through its start up process 1-2 minutes, if it detects the fault again it will do this over again, after 17 failed attempts it will lock out and display a green flashing light, if it starts and run fine for 30 minutes it reset the counter to 0. The reason it does this is to overcome nuisance faults, like the fan not spinning dew to high winds, the wind will stop eventually and give the fan a chance to spin normally and the system to operate normally.

      Don’t believe you can, unless you have a daikin d-checker (services tool), have your tried resetting the power to the system ?? If it’s a resettable fault the system will restart. If the fault comes straight back you will need the remote to check what it is. If it doesn’t reset, call your local daikin dealer for a services / repair call out and make sure they have a d-checked so they can check fault code as you don’t have the remote.

    A Daikin was installed the installer spent hours trouble shooting on phone with technician to finally get it going. The technician was on speed dial. About once a month the installer was working on it. The home owner demanded it be replaced. Rather than get a bad rep the installer replaced the Daikin mini split.. with a Stealth i believe..problem solved.. of course he lost a couple thousand Dollars.. The installer gave me the daikin mini split system only charged to istall it.. most screws are lost from being worked on so often. Very unreliable. 5 years old on a 15 year warranty ..think i will just junk it.

      Sounds like the installer has no idea, here in Australia you have cert 2 and cert 3 qualification. Cert 2 are will do as little as a 2 day course, cert 3 do a 4 year apprenticeship. Most people who don’t know what they are doing blame the brand. Daikin units are far more complex with there inverter driven compressors compared to the direct on line non inverter systems, but the push with energy efficiency the old system won’t pass the minimum standard, people working on them will need to up skill. This has happened about 15-20 years ago in Australia. We basically have no non inverter compressors in new systems at all.

If you have a close look at the cover where it meets the wall, if a mouse has been in there there will be little bits of chewed foam and stuff. The only other way is if the model unit has indicators lights at the outdoor unit, or call a Daikin services tech and ask if they have a d-checker, this plugs into the unit and connects to their phone and shows all data and faults.
