Thank you for your informative video on Grab. I'll be in Vietnam in December and was looking into ways of getting around Vietnam. Are there 7 seater cars/vans available for Grab? We have 5 people on our trip and was wondering if we could fit everyone in one vehicle.
Yep they have Grab in Bali too 😁. Another point we should have put in the video is, you don’t have to connect a credit or debt card to the account if you don’t want too, you can just pay the driver cash.
My parents will be heading to Vietnam next month for the first time since they emigrated to Australia back in 1978. They aren't tech savvy so your video is extremely helpful - thank you. I only found out last night that Uber was scrapped so have been doing my best to search for alternatives in an effort to support their trip. My only concern is the app not registering the location of the destination once it has been entered (like you mentioned in the video). Are there ways around this or are we left to manually search for the destination in the app itself?
Kevilam glad our video could be of help. With regards to the grab app not registering the address entered, unfortunately we haven’t found any other way around this yet, except to manually move the pin to the nearest address it will register. We did notice when using the app in Ho Chi Minh, every address we entered there worked sweet, even for the hostel that was down a little alley way that no car could enter 😳. So we do believe they are improving their maps and data bases. If you are still looking for alternatives, both of the trusted taxi companies in Vietnam, Taxi Mai Linh and Vinasun have apps that work like the other ride share services. We haven’t used either of them ourselves yet, but the people that told us about them preferred to use The taxi Mai Linh app over Grab in HCMC - (Grab service has gone down hill there after buying out Uber apparently, with increased wait times, more driver no shows and late cancellations). I hope your parents have a great trip 👍
Wow 80k, that is good! Our Vietnamese drivers licenses just arrived the other day, so we will be looking to rent a bike very soon 😎. But we’ll still need Grab for those times we decide to have a Larue or three 😂
It has definitely made things easier for us. We still walk quite a lot, but it’s nice to now have another option 😊. Thank you for subbing! We really appreciate it and are off to check out your channel.
Hi aae eel, Grab is definitely available in Hanoi and yes, they do have 7 seater cars available. From memory, on the app they are called Grab car 7 😎. Have a great trip 👍
Hi Isabelle, if you already have a grab account and the app setup, then you could use free wifi where available, but this isn't really the best way, as once you move out of the wifi zone you wont be able to track the grab car and the driver won't be able to message you. If you don't already have a grab account, you will need a SIM card to set one up.
Unfortunately no, Grab doesn't offer Paypal payments. We've never used credits cards for grab ourselves, because the currency exchange fee our banks charge would often be more than the fare itself, (we just always pay in cash), so we'd recommend checking with your credit card issuer what their international fee policy is :)
Don Man yep that’s correct 👍 You can make the booking with the appointment , it will tell how much the fare will be and you pay the driver the cash when you get to the destination. We recommend having the right amount or small bills, just in case the driver doesn’t have much change.
Senja Aldee have you ever used Grab in Bali? We’ve heard the local taxi drivers there cause a lot of grief for grab drivers if they see them and so people in Bali don’t use Grab as much?
Thank you, I will go VN next week! This is really useful
Thanks for the tips and tricks with Grab guys

I live your vdo
The only option I see is Hotels. No Taxi. I'm in South Korea now, will the Taxi option appear when I get to Vietnam?
I always wondered how that worked. I tend to rent a motorbike for the day when I need 1. Remember to haggle. I would be able to get 1 for 80k

No, Thank you Cal T! We are just happy you found it helpful :)

The referral link is not working. Can you update that.
Thank you for letting us know Birdy, I'm in the process of updating our website and moved it 😅. Should be working again soon! - Tash
@@LeonandTash any progress on a new discount code? I'm in the US and looking to download now for a trip to Vietnam in early March.
Nice video! Is Grab available in Hanoi ? and is 7-seater car available in there? Thanks.

hi
Does grab have PayPal payment? If I pay via USA credit card using grab in Vietnam, do I get charged international fees?

Leon and Tash so you can just book and pay with cash rather than the app?
Don Man yep that’s correct 👍
