    Hi Pawan, can nurses/student nurses usually choose their shifts or is it assigned non-negotiable?

    • @2ndchancehypnotherapy
      @2ndchancehypnotherapy 10 месяцев назад

      Generally not.

    • @PawanSandhuPS
      @PawanSandhuPS  9 месяцев назад

      Hi there,
      Student nurses are given their placement blocks by the university, and usually are not negotiable but they can move some of the blocks around depending upon the availability, if you'd have a legitimate reason.
      Once you are fully qualified and working as a nurse, you can negotiate your roster to some degree with your manager in most cases :)

    Hi
    Can’t you choose just to be a day shift nurse or night shift nurse ?

    • @PawanSandhuPS
      @PawanSandhuPS  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi
      There are some healthcare facilities that close during the night, so for someone who doesn't enjoy staying up all night, can choose to work there instead of lets say hospitals.
      Even in hospitals, some nurses choose to just work night shifts as it suits there lifestyle better and in that case it just comes down to your managers, whether they approve such requests or not.
      I hope this helps :)

      we cannot fully avoid night shift

    • @PawanSandhuPS
      @PawanSandhuPS  9 месяцев назад

      Hi there
      You might have to work some night shifts if there aren't many people putting their hand up for it, just to make it fair to everyone, managers usually ask everyone to work their share of nights :)
