    ABOUT CIVILIZATION VI: GATHERING STORM
    The second expansion to Civilization VI introduces an active planet where geology and climatology present unique new challenges. Chart a path to victory by developing new advanced technologies and engineering projects and negotiating with the global community in the World Congress on critical issues. The choices you make in the game will influence the world ecosystem and could impact the future of the entire planet. Natural disasters like floods, storms, and volcanoes can pillage or destroy your Improvements and Districts - but they may also refresh and enrich the lands after they pass.

      Warmonger really should be applied at the end of the war where you demand them to cede the city. Conquered city that is not ceded is still a thing even during peace time is really weird.

    • @dESTRON76
      @dESTRON76 5 лет назад +2

      How can I be labeled a warmonger if I have never declared war on anyone

    • @Tosei0816
      @Tosei0816 5 лет назад +1

      Warmonger is on taking cities. In EU4 it is called Aggressive Expansion, where even if it is a defensive war, taking lands in peace deal still make your neighbor hate you. Problem with Civ is that you can't win a war without taking city, so taking warmonger penalty during war doesn't make a lot of sense. If you return the city after the war you shouldn't get any penalty, tho screw that.

    • @xBINARYGODx
      @xBINARYGODx 5 лет назад +2

      @@Tosei0816 "you cannot win a war without taking a city" lol no, that is wrong. If the war ends with them conceding but you not taking any cities, then you won and didn't take a city (this can apply to a war you started or are the victim of, but it more likely when your the victim). No one forces you to take a city, unless YOU are the one who initiates it with intent to capture their stuff, then well, yes you need to do that. But I have had reason to declare war with someone just to stop them from settling where I didn't want them, and didn't want their cities - and when they offered peace, I removed cities from the deal because I didn't want them. Capturing a city is more aggressive than no. Razing it even more so. I dont see why you should not be 'penalized' for this in world stage of opinion.
      I mean, I guess if you mean "I waged war with them until they were removed from the game", but why WOULDN'T many others take a negative view of you on doing that. It strongly implies you will likely do it them in the future.
      Anyway - this new system of decay and context is superior, because people should only look down on you for being an actual warmonger instead of also when your defensive or simply declaring war to control contested territory.

    It is really funny that Hungary's strength is the ability to unite. In our important moments we were always divided. We lost 2/3 of our country and lost our freedom many times because we couldn't live with our minorities in peace.
    Things Hungary should have had as unique ability:
    Leader: Lajos Kossuth, Hungary gets increased production toward projects already finished in other countries
    Leader: Matthias Corvinus, Farms provide an additional -2 gold every turn from the cost of maintaining units, -4 when in war
    Leader: Francis II Rákóczi, Units get increased combat strength when fighting an enemy with greater combat strength
    Leader: Attila the Hun (not Hungarian but 70% of Hungarians thinks so), when retreating from enemy units, his units get increased combat strength for one turn
    Leader: King Saint Stephen, when Hungary changes religion, it gets delegations in nearby city states following the same religion and countries with the same religion get greatly increased warmonger penalties against it
    Leader: Béla IV, after losing a city, Hungary gets greatly increased productivity in other cities toward defensive buildings, workers instantly "repair" burned tiles
    These obviously aren't balanced but make some sense at least

    Matthias was a perfect pick :) He is definitely the most beloved folk hero who was also a ruler. In his folk tales he's sort of a mix between Robin Hood and the biblical Solomon - walking among the peasantry in disguise to find out about any injustice or misdemeanor that the rich and powerful are guilty of, then using his kingly power to set things right, often in a poetic way. I think it was a right choice to focus on his historical achievements however, since his legend is less known outside of Hungary and also I think Hungarians themselves are more impressed if someone knows history rather than stories.

Therefore he ruled the biggest land among of Hungarian kings (bigger then Mátyás [Matthias]) He did not have sons so his daughters became his successors, Mária (Mary) in Hungary and Hedvig (Jadwiga) in Poland

    The warmonger penalty was actually pretty broken, i haven´t seen this in any civ lets play videos so i assume it wasn't really known.
    Though if you would let the last city of a civ just flip from loyalty, than take it and liberate it, the warmongering would be completely gone. Also you would gain a massive boost in friendliness with every player even the civ you just erased would love you so much you could ally them the next turn. I do hope you folks read this, i love the franchise. Keep up the good work, i cant wait for all the added features!

    Imagine how much more fun it would be and how much more dimension (literally) it would add if you could at some point either get a technology or a unit which could either lower the area in a hex or raise it. If you had alternating heights above the sea level. Not sure what could be done with that, maybe at least as a mod it could be artificial barrier. Since you already have cliff sea wall which you can only have some late units scale across, it would make sense to add hexes that raise above sea level but they would also be less productive due to difficulties that come with higher levels.

    A few questions about Canals.
    1. How will canals affect the movement of naval units? Roads provide land units with enhanced speed, but in real life canals require ships to transit more slowly. Which effect if any will we see in game?
    2. How will canals affect land unit movement. Will units suffer a movement penalty comparable to rivers, or will canals sport bridges for land units?
    3. Will naval units in canals have their combat strength affected? For example, it would make sense that they would suffer reduced defense since in real life they are sitting ducks and have almost no maneuvering room for evasive action.
    4) Will naval melee units be able to attack land units stationed on a canal district, or will land units be unable to do so?
    5) Will canals enable naval units to melee attack cities that connect to a canal but are not coastal?
    6) Are naval units required to enter and exit a canal in the same turn? This would prevent them from being stationed in a canal, but just as importantly could prevent a unit from entering if it lacks the movement to exit.
    7) I can envision canals being pillaged or sabotaged such that they can no long be used until repaired, but what about blockading your own canals in war to deny your enemies access to your canal? Presumably, such blockades could be lifted by naval assaults. It would seem strange if your enemies can sail straight through your canals without any resistance.

    What they said about how difficult it is to get a scout to survive to upgrade I think points to the fact that all the unit jump so much in power when upgraded. 1 era behind and you have little to no chance to fight. Which is why science is still a must for all win goals. I wish they could make the other victories more viable without needing science.
    Just realised the comments and replies I've made are bitching about things I'd want changing, most the time when dev teams "fix" something gameplay wise it's an opinion on if it's an positive or a negative change, whereas with Civ it's always an improvement. Keep up the good work.

    Why is insta razing still a thing? It's annoying that a civ can take your second biggest city that is full of buildings and a huge part of your empire and just turn it to dust instantly. In other civ games some of the best, most intense wars were fought over reclaiming cites against the clock before they are razed to the ground. It just sucks that all your hard work you put into a city is gone instantly with not even a hope of reclaiming it.
