Great breakdown, simple but powerful - thank you! Always wondered what gets changed even though you can select colors on individual elements. Here are some handy notes: 1 - Accent = Used the least, buttons, links 2 - Accent - alt = Hover for button or links 3 - Strongest text = Headings 4 - Strong Text = Main text of the site/content 5 - Medium text = Borders 6 - Subtle Text = Hover for borders 7 - Subtle Background = Any background 8 - Lighter Background = Any background 9 - White or offwhite = Any background
@@CliftonWP you are very welcome! I love your approach to wordpress and kadence is just fantastic! Have you any videos about actually transferring from localhost to live server...making sure that security, ssl and everything else is working and what we need to think about before going live?
Wow!!! 👏Thanks for helping me understand better the kadence color palette. I wish you could do more tutorials on color combination technics. It was great watching you combine those colors so simple and fast. 👍

at 15:35 you added a row layout inside of another. Is there a major reason to do that? Should I always build a section of the related elements inside of a main Row Layout?
Thank you Marcos. :-) You can add an outer container only as needed, however it is not always required. Sometimes I do this if I want to style an outside element in a specific way. Most of the time one container is sufficient to do most things.
Thank you! To change the background color for mobile, go to: Customizer > Header > Mobile Navigation > Design Tab > Change the background using the color picker. :-)
Hello Clifton!, great classes, but I would like to ask you?, if you have any videos teaching Kadence with affiliate links adding them in a website? Thanking you in advance.
Thank you for this video! Do you have any suggestions for when you change your colour palette so the background is black (and also changed it in page layout etc. etc.) but the pages don't reflect the colours? They're still all white.
Thank you Melodie, the last 3 colors in the color palette affect the color of the backgrounds. So if you want your website to be dark, then you will need to change those 3 colors. I hope that helps!
This was helpful, thank you! Something I am still trying to figure out is why the default text color for buttons is white. It seems to be the case for all of the starter themes, but none of the text colors for the theme are white. Do you know where that color is being pulled from?
Perfecto!!! I have learned a lot from this video. Now I need HELP!!! Can I change colors for multiple links on my site with Kadence? I have links that I want to assign a different color....
Great tute, thank you! One question: when you add colours using the KB, does it only affect the page you add the colour to or is it available to other blocks in other pages? In other words, does it become a pseudo global colour that you can use on any page?
Thank you Sounak! Kadence rows are different from (and better than) the standard Gutenberg columns because Kadence rows have more design and customization options available to you so you can create more advanced structures for your web pages. Thank you and appreciate you watching!
Hey Clifton, thanks for the videos. I am trying to reach out to you privately about working with our company but you don't seem to have messages enabled on your channel or any way to contact you. Can you let me know if there is a way we can chat privately?
Just a thought....Your colour palette doesn't include branding such as logo...which of the colours should be used for that according to your colour palette created in the video...?
Thank you Martyn! Sometimes depending on the composition of the logo, you can draw a palette from its colors. Typically the highlight colors which are the first two colors of your Kadence color palette can be used within your logo and vice versa.
When you say to "center the row" I cannot for the life of me figure out WHICH "row" you are talking about?? Although prob not important, it's super frustrating. I'm super new to all this and I need every little thing pointed out and explained. Learning something new is extremely overwhelming and stressful as it is.
Totally understand Diane. I've been there and I promise it gets easier and better. Thank you for your patience. In this tutorial when I say "center the row" this applies to then I have one row inside of another row. So imagine if you add a Row layout Block with one column, and then you add a second Row Layout Block inside the first row. To center that inside layout block, you need to go to the structure settings on the right for that inside block and set the Content Width setting to the Content Width of the website using the toggle icon. That will center the row. I hope that helps and I appreciate you watching!
Finally someone takes the time to explain the global color palette to many of the newbies around, such as myself.
Thank you Manuel!
Thank you!! This is such a clear explanation of how and where to set your colors. This is the best channel!
